Very good nail salon. I was waiting outside of another nail salon killing time because I had dropped my kids off at school, attended a meeting, and they were still not open. They opened at 10. I had been there before years ago but had no specific reason to go back besides they did an ok job from what I remembered. To kill time, I started looking into Yelp reviews. Not very many good ones. at 9:59 am I left to go to Harlem Nails because they were a few minutes away and actually had good reviews. When I was younger I used to get my nails done every other Thursday, religiously. After having kids I kind of went here and there. The last time I went was over a year ago (somewhere else) and they did a horrible job, to the point I just decided not to continue. But I missed them :( The elegance, sparkle, just looking more put together, even in sweats. So I decided to start going again. I am so happy I came here. It was a Friday morning, 10 am (they open at 9:30). There was no wait, and there were a few women already there getting their hands and toes done. I explained what I didn't like about my nails last time and what I wanted to my nail tech, Anna. She took her time and did exactly what I asked. She asked questions along the way, to make sure everything was going smoothly. Some of the polishes did seem old, they could probably get new ones, but maybe it's because most people do no chip and I just did regular. My nails are the perfect thickness, I explained last time that they were super thick and ugly. She made them as thin as she could without them being too too thin where they would break. The polish was applied beautifully. Anna was very kind and thorough. She listened to what I asked for, and then delivered. She wasn't super pushy- which is good because I am not a pushover kind of person; when I say no the answer is no, and I just get annoyed when people keep trying to upsell. She did kindly suggest no chip, and next time I will get it because waiting for it to dry was a hassle. The price was good. I think it was $25 for a full set with regular polish. She did an amazing job. Tips are in cash only, I believe. So make sure you bring cash. I am very pleased with my service. Enough that I am going to ATTEMPT to go back every two weeks, like before. It has been just over a week so far, they are still all intact and have no chipped. Which is impressive because I do a lot of cooking and cleaning - TONS of dishes. I expected them to be a little more worn and torn by now. The shop was clean. The temperature was comfortable, and my tech did a very good job. Very pleased overall. read more

Read the reviews and decided to come here. I called in and booked an appointment with Trina at 12:45. I was running late but they were flexible and able to push it to 1:15 which is great. Unfortunately, I wasn't taken care by Trina. But the technician that I got , Tami, was great as well! The way I wanted to get my nails done wasn't easy. Tami was professional and friendly. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and she was able to meet my expectations. As for the the facility, it's very clean and modern. I got a basic manicure with a matte effect ($13) and little stones on my ring fingers (+$5) totaling to $18. Very reasonable prices and welcoming staff. Definitely coming here again! I stopped in to try the place out since it opened in my neighborhood. I was tired of going all the way to the mall for a (not so) decent no-chip. The last person who did my nails (the location inside Harlem and Irving mall) did a really sloppy job and they always lay on the gel really thick so I gets lumpy. I also tend to pick at my gel no-chip when I get anxious which I had done before going to get them redone. I was greeted right away by a nice woman (her name starts with a T but I couldn't remember what it was) and she looked at my nails, and lead me to my seat. I picked the color and told her that I wanted my nails to grow so I just wanted them shaped because, again, the last person who did my nails shaped them horribly. I also expressed that I wanted my nails longer because I'm trying to grow them out. This is always where I get nervous because people tend to make my nails shorter than I wanted them, but she didn't. After she finished with my nails, I was in LOVE. Not only did she take my raggedy nails and clean them beautifully, but she also shaped them so well, the gel isn't this disgusting thick coat, and they are just beautiful overall. I didn't think I would love my nails more than I do now. She's def someone to try out. This place was great! I'm very disappointed with my most recent visit to Harlem Nails. It seems like every time I go back, the quality in service drops. First of all, I waited an hour to be attended and once I got into a chair, I waited another hour. I personally do not mind waiting if it's the case that I'll be receiving quality service. Then I proceeded with my no chip manicure. My manicure was finished within 20 minutes. He did not cut my cuticles nor clean my nail beds properly. He barely even filed my nails and left them as is (expect for my pinky nail which he messed up and left at an awkward shape). After he filed and buffed my nails, he BARELY dusted my nails and proceeded with the clear coat for no chip polish. My nails looked like I had dipped them into a bag of flour (they still look like they weren't ever properly cleaned. I could have done a better job at home). Never have I had a manicure done where they don't ask you to wash your hands after filing and buffing. Because the place was busy, I assumed that he wanted to get done with me as quickly as possible. He had me cure my nails 2x longer than I ever had done before. The timing he had my nails under the UV light was so long that my nails and fingers began to hurt, and whenever I'd try taking them out or telling him they hurt, he'd say they weren't ready. They clearly were. This is DANGEROUS and as certified nails techs I'm sure there's guidelines they must follow when working with UV lamps. I'm VERY disappointed with my service and will never be returning to this place. I also took my goddaughter with me for her first mani pedi and her nails were honestly worse than mine. They didn't clean her nails for her pedi and her nail tech accidentally touched a few of her wet nails leaving prints in them. Worst $95 I've ever sent in my life. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Please save your money and go elsewhere. Not to mention the dangers you're exposed here with excessive use of UV lamps in order to finish with customers as soon as possible. read more

Place is very very busy, I recommend to make appointment upfront. However they received me in a very short notice, based on my situation and they really did everything to make my pedicure successfull. Lady who did my pedicure was veryyyy understanding and neat. She was very patient with me and gentle. I can't say enough thanks to that. I looked around and it seems that all technicians know their jobs well and they already know their customers which I liked bc they know what and how you like and what are you expecting to be done. I have been here about 5 times and the experience depends on who is doing your nails. The first few times the younger girls with glasses did my nails the best! However, the last 2 times I've had the lady at station 6 do my nails and she did a horrible job. She didn't say a word to me the whole time, even when I greeted her. She rushed through the whole process and gave off an unpleasant vibe like she hates her job. The best part was when she didn't wipe my nails off at the end so my no chip nails where sticky and not shiny. I do not recommend going to her at all. Don't expect a tip if you're treating your customers shitty! Lastly, the place is not clean, the floors are filthy. Give this place a try and you'll know what I mean. read more

I have known Trina for many years now and I am excited she opened her own salon near me. All of the nail techs that work here are very nice and do a great job. Trina remembers her clients and does her best to make sure they all leave happy. I would recommend calling ahead to make an appointment or you may have to wait a little while. I usually get no-chip manicures as often as I can (sometimes I take a break to let my nails breathe) but when I need a solid no-chip manicure, Harlem nails is a great option. read more

First visit to Harlem Nails last week and Trina was amazing! Mani/pedi/eye brow wax for $48. My mani has lasted with minimal chipping for almost a full week and this is probably one of the best eyebrow waxes I've ever gotten. Went on a Saturday after making a same-day appointment - had to wait 15 mins or so, not bad for a busy salon. Would probably recommend an appointment (though they seemed to get walk-ins in somewhat quickly on a Saturday) and they prefer cash tips. I've been coming here for awhile now and I usually love it! I always get the same thing a full set with a French ombré and they always do a great job. However yesterday they did not, since I've had it done before I already know what the process is like. Yesterday an older woman did my nails it was going ok until she put the pink powder and then sent me to another lady who airbrushed the white on my nails. Every single time I've been there they add white powder to make the ombré effect I even had told the older woman twice what I wanted and showed a pic. The end result was not what I wanted, my nails do not look ombré. When I payed with a gift certificate my mom had gotten me another lady asked me if I was happy with my nails I told her they were ok (I wasn't trying to be rude) she said she knows I usually get powder, soooo I'm not sure why it was different this time??? Everyone at the salon was really nice. I had an appointment but called the day of my appointment to see if they could get me in earlier, which they did. During my pedicure, the lady proceeded to dig into my big toe because she said there was an ingrown toe nail. I didn't realize what she was doing until the pain set in so by then it was too late to ask her to stop. My toe bled for a while until she put something on it to make it stop. The color I picked for my toes, was not the color that was used on my toes. The numbers on my selection and the bottle did match, so not sure what happened there. By then, I just wanted it to be over so I kept the color. Here I am four days post pedicure, and I cannot even touch my toe. That is how painful it is. I'm not saying stay clear of the place because I have heard good things, but just don't let them try and remove and ingrown toe nail. read more
