I have been to this location twice so far and both times I have left completely satisfied. It's been difficult for me to find a place that does my nails exactly how I want, specifically the nail shape as I have a wide nail bed. I showed my inspo pic, asked if she could choose the color closest to the picture, and if she could do a a slightly tapered square nail shape. She did exactly that with ease and was quick. I will definitely come back and maybe ask for a more complex nail design. I'm normally nervous to even ask for French tips at others locations but now I'm excited to see what else they can do here. read more

Went in for a quick set . Only nail technician happened to be a very young lady but hey still took the chance . When I say I WAS MORTIFIED to leave the shop I mean MORTIFIED. Not only were the poorly installed leaving my nails to fall off the next day . But the technician SABRINA HAM I beleave that was her name had a very bad attitude damn near twisting my fingers off when trying to shape my nails . She openly asked for a tip and smacked her lips when I said the nails were not at all what I expected . Also I'm not the type to bring up a person personal hygiene but for someone who's job is to work close along others . She had a strong smell of liquor as if she was drinking on the job or just a long night . The smell was sooo strong I had to spray my perfume a couple time just not to inhale the harshness. THE WORST. Worst service I've ever received in a nail shop. Both the front "manager" receptionist and the owner have no idea what customer service is. I came in right when Happy Nails opened and I was the second person in line to wait for a pedicure and gel manicure. My pedicure with Alexa was amazing. The nails were okay until I started to notice John wasn't cleaning the cuticles and asked him if he could. He told me that the file cleaned them and nothing else. I said okay not wanting to embarrass myself because I have no experience doing nails but have gotten them done many times in the past 10 years. Usually if they say yes it's extra I'll say okay that's fine, like a normal person but I could clearly see he was in a hurry. There were 4 nail techs for at least 10 people waiting. The receptionist was being snappy with everyone coming in telling them they had to wait hours for a service cuz they were fully booked. I understand being busy but these are your customers, maybe have more people working on days you know are busy. Back to the nails, I noticed that he didn't fill my nail in all the way and with the file made a white spot. I asked John if he could fix it and he said "no that's your nail." I said, "no it's not when I walked in for a fill in, they didn't look like this." He said okay fine I'll fix it. He fixed it and my nail was either bruised or something because it ended up being a red color instead of the pink I choose. Pics attached. When my nails were finished I told the receptionist that I wasn't too happy with my nails hoping that maybe someone else could fix them the next day or she could at least be aware of the work of her employees. Unfortunately people who work at Happy Nails don't like it when you say you're not happy with the work and don't take criticism very well. All employees that looked at my nails they said they didn't see anything wrong with them. PICS ATTACHED. The receptionist said she couldn't tell if they were bad or not because she herself doesn't do nails. Raising her voice and embarrassing me in front of all the other customers in the shop. I told her I don't do nails either but I can tell the difference between a good job and a bad job. I asked her for her managers number or the owners number and she said she doesn't give it out. I told her that's fine if she could either take pictures or give the owner a call. She said AND I QUOTE, "Believe it or not the owner is a very busy person, he owns all of the tourist buses and he doesn't have time to talk to anyone." I said, "he's too busy to talk to an upset customer? Fine, charge me for the pedicure but I'm not paying for these nails." She said oh no we can't have that I'm calling the owner. *face palm*. That's what I wanted in the first place. She calls the owner, puts me on three way and he says. "I can see you on the camera, you're very young why are you mad?" I tell him all the above stuff including the woman at the front raising her voice and all he says is "she gave you a discount why are you mad, just pay for the nails. I don't give anyone a discount." I told him it wasn't about the discount it was about he service now. Since all of this was happening in the shop everyone was staring at me I felt intimidated into paying and left the shop in angry tears. I called the owner back when I saw the receptionist laughing when I walked out. I told him I was so disappointed in the customer care and the nails and people shouldn't walk out of your shop crying. He was unapologetic and said I don't know what you want we gave you a discount. A TEN DOLLAR DISCOUNT. Never going back. Already told all my friends who go there to go elsewhere. They were disgusted by the service. I sent my friends the same pictures I posted and the owner too. He must of felt something when he saw them cuz he told me to go back to the shop on Wednesday to get them fixed. (Because they were messed up!!) that he wouldn't be there most likely cuz he's soooo busy but he'll have someone fix them. He also said his receptionist wasn't yelling at me "she just has a loud voice." I am not going back to a place that intimidates and treats people this way. Not to fix these nails, not for anything. Nope never again. I was there with my mom the pedicures were awful. We walked in. My moms was started and I waited and they almost took a woman who came in 20 minutes after me with no appointment ahead of me. She didn't cut/file my nails down, didn't get lotion cause she was rushing through it, and told me that I need to choose better polish next time (there wasn't much of a selection that was not no chip). I got a no chip manicure with Tina this past Sunday, 4 days ago. She was a sweet lady and all, but did awful on my nails. She filed them too short, and my no chip was chunky and uneven. You get what you pay for, right? $28 for a no chip. I still tipped her for her time, and figured maybe if I give her a second chance, it'll be better. Today is day 4 and almost all my no chip was coming off. And i broke 3 nails. I called and the receptionist answered. I told her if I can get another no chip because mine was completely ruined. And she's like sure but you need to get the same color. So I said "why can't I get another color? The color I had Sunday seemed too chunky that's why I'm coming back in to get the rest off.." she's like nope sorry. So then I ask if I can get the rest of the no chip removed and perhaps a basic manicure. She says I have to pay for the manicure because it's a different service. I then ask if she's kidding, and she laughs. I tell her "this isn't funny, I paid over $30 for this, I'm not happy." So I go in today, Tina seemed pissed to see me, mumbling in Mongolian because I forgot my card that had my color on it. And then I was like whatever just take off the no chip and I'll get a regular manicure then, fine. I chose my color and she started my soak off. Then she's doing my cuticles and cutting the skin around the nail. She then keeps digging and digging in my nail! (Lady I just saw you 4 days ago, you've done the digging and ripping of skin already!) she then tore a huge chunk of my skin and I flinched and told her I was in pain. Then I start bleeding and she's totally careless about it. She puts this green liquid in the bloody cut and says ssshhh it's okay. No it's not f*cking okay, I'm in pain! So then I'm like just forget the manicure, I want the soak off and that's it. She didn't even have the courtesy to lotion my hands, she grabs my hand and pumps a huge wad of lotion and says ok bye. I'm so over this place. I don't know why my mom or anyone else gives this place business, I almost guarantee most of these techs don't have their nail tech license and I will be contacting IL department of Regulation to file a complaint for this salon. I also see the wax specialist double dipping during her waxing and that's also contamination and most definitely doesn't have an esthetician license or a cosmetology license. HOW DO YOU NOT WEAR GLOVES WHILE WAXING SOMEONE. Being a person who's a licensed esthetician, I know when to report these things and no one is educated on salons who are doing these things illegally. Thank you happy nails for the complete waste of time and lack of customer service. And thank you Tina for injuring my finger nail. I won't ever step foot in this wreck of a salon again. read more

I have never been so upset with nail service until today. had been coming to Happy Nails to get my nails done but never again after the way I was treated today. I got a regular mani pedi yesterday and got a beige color which changed to pink after a few hours of having it on- I blame the light pink top coat my technician Kelly used. I came back in today to show them in hopes they would fix their mistake; and I was turned away. When I was getting my manicure the day of the technician was rude, and the next day instead of redeeming themselves for the mistake they made on my nails and using the wrong topcoat, they said they don't guarantee the color. *HAPPY NAILS ON AUSTIN/ADDISON in the DUNKIN DONUTS plaza* I first came here to get acrylic overlay with no chip on top. My first impression was awesome, so much so that I referred tons of my other friends... BUT - (and anyone who knows me knows that rarely do I give bad reviews on places, but this has to be told.) It was the day before Thanksgiving and sure it was busy at 10am. I ended up coming in to get my no chip removed and a manicure and brought both of my daughters in. We waited over 30 minutes, which I was totally fine with considering it was the day before Thanksgiving. The manager (the one with the earpiece in his ear) had one of the guys put the aluminum on my nails to soak off my acrylic. Then all of us were ready to get our nails done. My younger daughter was getting a fill in and my other a fullset. The owner was about to start on my nails but then started filing them with the machine and assumed I was getting a no chip, when I told him I was not, he seemed agitated because he doesnt do manicures and had some girl do my nails, mind you he didnt even know her name and called her honey, whats your name? do her nails, they were absolutely MEAN to this new girl and gave her no direction whatever so much that she was shaking doing my nails because of how poorly he mistreated her. Fast forward.... The fullset one was done by one of the other guys which came out great. It wasnt even 10 minutes and my other daughter was at the drying table already which I found odd. My manicure was average, nothing to rave about. When I got to the drying table to see my daughter's nails she was upset because she felt that she was being rushed and when I saw her nails, you can see the evidence that it was rushed. Now the fact that her nails looked like crap wasnt the issue, it was the "manager's" response that totally was unprofessional and was surely far from client-centric. I asked him to please come look at my daughter's nails when he finished with his current client. He came to look at her nails and his remedy was to put a 2nd coat of nailpolish. Unfortunately, that is not the solution considering you can see all the deep ridges from over filing, etc. When he tried to suggest that, my daughter (being a teenager) said no its not a nail polish issue you just didnt do it correctly. His response (with raised voice) " I fix, you stop talking to much!" He was upset because we asked to have it corrected in front of lots of people and when my other daughter suggested that we dont pay for that $12 service since it looked terrible, he then yelled and said to her that she can never come back in his store. There were lots of people and it was defintely a poor PR move. If you look at the work that was done horribly, accept it humbly and fix it and we would have never been in this position. But no instead he chose to barade us in front of people. It was by the grace of God that I didnt respond, because I chose to not stoop to his level. His behavior was juvenile and to refuse to go somewhere where you feel bullied to not want to speak up if you were unhappy with a service. The pictures will speak for itself... see below. Came here on a whim with my sister and future SIL - two of us got no chips ($25) and one got a full gel set ($28) Even though they were fairly busy when we came in, we all got seen in a reasonable amount of time, and so did everyone else who came in after us. The nail technicians were all very nice. I do not know how/if they sterilize the equipment but everything looked clean. We are all very happy with how our nails turned out! *THIS REVIEW IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE NEW RECEPTIONIST* I have been here on multiple occasions I have always loved coming here because the service is so great from the second you walk in until you pay and leave. The receptionist Nancy and Priscilla have always been so helpful. The shop has always run like a well oiled machine. You walk in if the technicians are busy the receptionist fills your water gets everything going and hands you your colors. This has been the norm for the entire time this place has been open. I have stopped in twice in the last month and the new receptionist has provided THEE worst customer service I have ever experienced. She did not set up the water despite the fact that the technicians were swamped with work, she did not hand me my colors. when the technician asked her for help another girl with glasses and braids raised her voice at the technician saying that wasn't the receptionists job, if it's not her job then why has every other receptionist done it for the past three years that I have been coming to this establishment. I was there for almost two hours and watched her fold the smallest amount of towels I've ever seen, go into the bathroom and spend minutes at a time there when there were clients coming in or trying to check out sit down on her phone, and do absolutely nothing in the back. Not to mention her eyes were blood shot red, you should not be coming to work high as a kite. If you don't like your job look for something else. It would be a shame to see this great place get run to the ground by someone who doesn't care about their work ethic. read more

Close to my house so convenient especially for a pedicure which I've done 3 times and its been decent but the massage has been lacking. I find the place though to be cramped, messy and crowded. Last 2x people bringing kids allowing them to run around so not very relaxing. The pedicure chairs are not separated and crammed up to waiting chairs on one side and door on the other. I've had my gel nails done by 2 people for the past 10 years but thought I'd try this place but I wasn't impressed. Nails started popping off and chipping after 2 weeks and more expensive than I've ever paid for a fill. Generally mine will last 4-5 weeks before needing a fill. Just had them done from my regular guy and I can tell the difference. While this place is convenient I'd rather drive to Des Plaines. read more
