I have been scrambling to find a new laundry pick-up delivery service as I'm A) a busy…read moreprofessional, B) living in a 4th floor walk-up, C) not the beneficiary of any type of laundry cart (as if I'd have room for one anyway) & D) a very skinny, frail woman who can't lift a bag of laundry and cleaning stuff all by herself from this 4th floor walk-up to get out of there and get clothing back in one peace. A person in my circumstances NEEDS laundry pick-up/delivery without castigation or harassment. I called this place based on the positive Yelp reviews to inquire about this service. They told me their minimum was 30 pounds. Well, I don't have a scale to weigh a heavy bag on; I simply know when the bag is full and hard for me to maneuver. I mentioned my plight, they told me they only accept cash, would weight the laundry when they had it and would call me to tell me how much it was (as I bank with a credit union that has free ATMs in limited locations so I'd need some time to get cash out of the bank since they don't take credit cards). Days after my laundry pick-up (with no word on when I'd get my clothes back or how much this order will cost), I have to arrange to get my stuff back so I can have clean underwear for the next week. They inform me of the price then & tell me I have to be home right at that instant with cash on hand to get my laundry, telling me of no other time when I could do it. They claimed I was trying to finagle for a special trip for a 12 pound load of laundry and were trying to have me walk 8 blocks to get all that stuff and then try getting it up that 4th floor walk-up with zero help from anyone while I was merely trying to figure out when I could get my stuff back and when they were in the area to drop it off. They did a great job in handling my laundry and folding my socks (hence not getting a 1 star) review but when I tried getting this done again, they basically discriminated against single professionals. I also don't like that lack of credit card acceptance so now I have to see about another dedicated laundry service so I can get this done once a month.

The next day the laundry is picked up without my notice until I got home and thought It was the other company. Then I got a message from HamperApp. Stating that Sara took the liberty to illegally charge my account for a new order she placed for me after I cancelled. We were not only REFUSED that service but my roommate was VERBALLY ASSAULTED by the older Asian man who works here behind the counter. We didn't just leave this place 'unsatisfied', we left TRAUMATIZED and ENRAGED by the disgustedly disrespectful treatment we endured. And we want EVERY COMMUNITY MEMBER in this neighborhood to know what happened. We knew we were unwelcome here the minute we stepped into this business. My roommate walked in and politely asked the man "could you hem my dress?". Instead of greeting us with a warm, professional response (ie: "yes, of course, a hemming costs -X amount- of dollars"), the man behind the counter merely grunted and threw a bunch of pins on the counter in our direction. Unsure of what to do, our other friend knelt down to pin the bottom of her dress himself, assuming we were meant to borrow the pins for now, a sort of "emergency" hemming. Leaving, we said "thank you". Suddenly, the man started shouting bloody murder, as if we had committed a felony. "WHAT THE FUCK? PINS COST MONEY!! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THAT?" Bewildered, my roommate said, "Ok, how much, a couple bucks? I have a 5$ bill, could I get change?" This seemed reasonable for a few pins. "I PAY RENT HERE!" He continued to shout. It became clear that nothing we could do was good enough for this man. We gave the pins back but upon leaving the man stormed outside the shop after us, calling my roommate incredibly hurtful things like "PUTA" "COCKSUCKER" "STUPID BITCH". Maybe it was because we are Latinos. Maybe it was because we are women. Maybe it's because my friend is a curvy, vivacious woman wearing a revealing dress, he felt he could treat her this way..... Perhaps it was all just a miscommunication. The bottom line: this behavior from a business is UNNACCEPTABLE. We are your customers. We are COMMUNITY members. I wash my clothes I use the same amount I always used in putting in liquid soap and the same Setting it wasn't showing hardly any of the soap I put in which I found odd I what ever it and figured maybe it will pick up more later usually it suds up quick it stood that way the whole time so I let it be. I went to dry them on the big giant drying machines and paid for 45 minutes the bottom 2 machines. It started for 2 minutes and then gave me an error I pressed start again thinking maybe it was just me and now the 2nd machine stop and also gave me an error. I let the staff know I paid for 45 minutes to dry my clothes I spoke to the skinny younger Hispanic woman with curly brown hair. She came over looked at the machine and pressed start on both of them and it gave us the error after it spun for 1-2 minutes and she kept hitting start again 2-3 times then told me move some clothes from this machine to an other I told her his is a smaller load than what I usually do but followed her instructions. She told me to get her when I moved the clothes and I did and I asked her before hand is this a better size load to work with and she said yes. She added 10 minutes to the machine and I reminded her I paid for 45 minutes again and she watched the machine and again now not only the 2 big ones I paid for but the medium one she told me to put some Clothes in gave an error as well. She told me move all the clothes from one of the big ones and split it in to 2 machines and she would fill it I did as I was told. And went to let her know I'm done moving the clothes asked her if that was ok for the load because I've always used the big dryer machines. She said yes and then proceeded to add 20 minutes to dry my clothes to which I explained miss you only put 20 on each machine when I paid for 45 minutes she told me the time she was troubleshoot the machines counts as used time and I explained you didn't even have a out of order sign telling me the machines where messed up we went back and forth and I explained her trouble shooting should not count as me drying my clothes because the machines were displaying error and would not dry the clothes, she got annoyed and yelled at me "I have to get back to work" and added 20 minutes to the 3 new machines. This is not how you treat customers nor how you should do business with people. She walked away and I stop to stop 4 other customers from using the machine that I had the error with she would not even put an out of order sign on it.

When it was officially late she was less helpful and very rude. The pick arrived 45 minutes late. On a work day this is stressful when you rely on that 1 hour window. She repeated to me in a rude manner, that I should write a complaint if I had issues and said she did not know the name of manager. I was surprised to find out that she was the manager. So, she lied. The driver on his arrival was very apologetic, nice and was better at communication. He even refused my tip. I told him that I will no longer use the service as it is unreliable with this manager and way overpriced for the bad service. They charged me 3.99 for a missed pick up... when I refused service due to the lateness. This is a corporation, not the mom and pop feel you need with laundry. Most important, there is no one to speak to. The woman they had working that morning will ruin their business. I learned, she has several complaints from customers. The place is fairly clean and has a ton of washer/dryers. Mostly small and medium sized washers with four super large ones. They have a couple arcade games in the front and vending machines in the back, however both vending machines were broken. My main issue with the place was the lack of seating. There were probably 6 seats total in the whole laundromat. The woman who runs the place is very helpful, even though she speaks little to no English. She was able to help me when one of the washer doors was jammed and directed me away from the broken one. They have a bill to bill exchange machine (that was broken), a quarter machine, and a bunch of laundry supplies to purchase behind the counter. It also says "Open 24 hours" on the store front but it doesn't. Last wash is at 11pm. Overall it's not too bad. I haven't tried their wash and found service (90c/lb) but they do not deliver.
