I was so happy that they were open this time! I had visited about 5 or 6 months ago, and I must have been there too early in the morning. We had just gotten through with a Sip & Paint up at the Winery and we were down perusing the glassblower and pottery shops. We had a hankering for food, and when I saw they had raclette cheese options, my heart skipped a beat. We opted for the poutine and the Turkey and Jack Grilled Cheese Melt. While the poutine wasn't traditional, the fingerling potatoes were soft and buttery. The grilled sausage was pretty tasty, but it was kind of difficult to cut with a fork & knife. The cheese and gravy and bacon and everything overall worked for a really great dish. The Turkey & Jack Grilled Cheese was good too. Simple, good flavors, kid friendly. We finished up the meal with a pint of the Cookies and Cream ice cream. Oh heavenly indulgence of sweet cream frozeness. This stuff it goooooood! I'll definitely stop by again if I'm passing through the area. read more

We stumbled upon this place on our drive, and I'm so glad we stopped! The ice cream is definitely in my top 5 favorite ice creams! I got the buttered pecan and my kids got the salted caramel. Had to take visiting family here. Just because it's Harmony. And there are cows. And this little truck of Heaven. They loved it. And why wouldn't they?! They are "udderly" delicious! We normally go to Harmony Highlands for a hike and decided to stop by Harmony as the summery weather is perfect for some local icy treats and Harmony ice cream definitely hit the spot! My mom got two scoops of the coffee and I got two of the butter pecan. Most of the flavors are sold in pint-size and available at the local grocery stores except for coffee. Both flavors of the ice cream were exceptionally made. One can definitely taste the natural creaminess and the fresh ingredients such as visible coffee grounds and large bits of pecans. Up until last night I thought Doc Bernstein's was the best. Meet the new contender! The ice cream is not cheap. That being said, you can buy love! The ice cream is luscious, not so much fat that it coasts your tongue so you can't taste the flavors. The mint chocolate chip and mint and a fresh taste (not mint flavor additive). My only complaint, and recommendation, would be for larger pieces of chocolate. Kudos and well done! read more

This place was recommended by the state park ranger at the ranger station in Morro Bay. We've stopped by here after hiking nearby. They were serving their ice cream at the ice cream truck (I assumed this truck is parked here permanently here). We ordered coffee bean and butter pecan. They were soooo good that we even bought a pint of coffee bean ice cream at Spencer's when we went back to Morro Bay! It's too bad they don't sell them where we live. We'll eat them again when we come back here on our next road trip. read more

We were so sad when we stopped by this tiny dairy town on a Thursday afternoon to learn that the Harmony Valley Creamery only scoops on weekends from 12PM to 4PM. I took it as a sign that trying the ice cream from this beloved town just wasn't in the cards. All that changed when we happened to stumble upon the very same truck during our stroll later that evening at the downtown SLO farmer's market! As soon as I spotted it, I knew it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up, even though we were full from dinner. We went with a double scoop and had the coffee bean and salted caramel. Harmony Valley sure knows their ice cream. To say their ice cream is luscious would be understatement. I will admit that I wasn't a huge fan of how sticky or tacky it was, which made it somewhat difficult to scoop with our plastic spoons. However, the staff was uber friendly and the portions were more than generous. Thanks for the authentic dairy experience! read more

Ridiculously good ice cream! Fresh and fantastic. The strawberry here is hands down my favorite. It tastes so so fresh. It's the best I have ever had. Given that I eat a lot of ice cream, I mean a lot, that says a good amount of this particular one. The coffee has bits of coffee in it so it has a tiny amount of crunch. The chocolate is a milk chocolate and very nice. You can't go wrong on a flavor here. And they are super fair in the price of a wafer cone. It's nice. The scoops are also generous if you want to sample a few flavors I'd recommend a mini :) read more

Simple flavors done spectacularly. We got a single scoop of the butter pecan, and it was heavenly creamy. The cute white and green truck is totally Instagram worthy. They're only open for a few hours each day, so make sure you time it right! They also sell reasonably priced shirts ($15 for adult sizes) that are very cute and colorful. read more

If you plan on visiting one of the smallest towns in California, make sure to check this place out for some of the tastiest locally made ice cream in the state. Harmony currently has a population of 18, but those 18 people sure know how to produce a delicious scoop of ice cream. My favorite is the cookies n cream. Prices are a little steeper than other ice cream shops, but at least you know that yours isn't mass produced. read more

We wanted to stop for an ice cream but ended up having grilled cheese and raclettes. Wish both trucks were open as lots of tourists are beginning to swamp the central coast which is a good sign CA is leaving the pandemic behind. We all need to help small town local shops and businesses as much as we could. This one is definitely has a charm of its own. Blown Glass and pottery are also being offered. Well be stopping again if we are in PCH 1 trailing bet Nocal and Socal. read more

The ice cream is delicious but the prices are quite high-especially considering they are coming out of a food truck. $2.25 for a mini scoop and it's literally like a teaspoon amount. A regular scoop is $4.75 and it's ok amount but I wouldn't say generous. The best deal is two scoops for $5.95, but if you can't stuff 2 scoops down, it doesn't do you any good. For 5 single scoops and a mini it was $26 so make sure to bring plenty of money and check the schedule to make sure they are serving. read more

The ice cream here is very delicious! The coffee ice cream was amazing and the butter pecan was super creamy. Keep in mind that the ice cream is sold from a truck because they are going to remodel the actual creamery since it is very old and run down. They sell ice cream only a few hours each day so make sure you plan out your day and when you are going to go there. The prices are pretty reasonable and I got a double scoop in a cup for 5.95. The creamery is located in a really small town called Harmony and you should check it out while you're there because it's an interesting place. read more

We used the Harmony Valley Creamery ice cream truck for our wedding and it was an absolute SMASH! It was such a unique experience for our guests and the ice cream tasted fantastic and fresh. Brielle, who worked in the ice cream truck, was great with our group. She also made a delicious ice cream sundae for me and my husband to eat instead of cutting a cake and it was super special and so much fun. Setting up the service was easy, too. Established in 1913.

A long-established fixture of California’s Central Coast, Valley Creamery traces its roots back to the formation of the Harmony Valley Creamery Association in 1913, where it served as a vital part of the dairy industry in San Luis Obispo County until 1970. Since that time, the town of Harmony and the remaining buildings of Harmony Valley Creamery evolved into a haven for the arts and local fare, playing host to working artisans and galleries known for it’s signature quirk and charm. So worth a break to pull off and walk around this little spot which includes a wonderful glass blowing business, a small post office that has some great history hung around the walls and of course, they are a potential destination space for weddings and other gatherings. There were several picnic tables set up in front of the Kitchen and although there was an ice cream truck, it wasn't open while we were there. While there, we decided to have a snack and ordered from this little food trailer. Food is scratch made and fabulous! I had the Ranch Revival, which was served on a soft ciabatta roll with some delicious, thin sliced tri tip, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and some wonderful herbed mayo. It was so good!!! Wife chose to have the Pesto Pasta and she and my daughter loved it! The pasta was perfectly cooked and the creamy pesto was pretty good! We also shared an order of the "fries", which were cooked to perfection and were really more of potato wedges. They were served with the same herb mayo that was on my sandwich. Great experience, wonderful food, and so worth the stop!

While the harmony ice cream is not my favorite, I very much appreciate the fact that they have local ice cream and the portions were a good size at a good price. The staff is exceptionally nice, especially the owner who has been working most of the times we have been there. She's one of those people who is so genuine that you can instantly feel it. I also wanted to add an additional comment kind of in response to a one star review that was left from an exchange that happened while I was eating ice cream just outside the shop. A family with some kids were in the shop and they came out and went to leave but one of the little boys ran up to this cute giant teddy bear serving as the shop's "mascot" and punched it right in the face. It was a slower part of the day business-wise and so the owner saw the kids do this and went outside to ask why the kid punched her bear. The comment claims that she yelled at them, but this was simply not true. She did raise her voice, but it was because the family had already made it to the end of the block. She didn't say anything rude, she just asked why he did that and said it wasn't very nice. (This may be my personal opinion, but if your kid likes to punch animals, even if they're fake, I'd be seriously worried about what kind of person this kid will become.) A few minutes later the woman with the child came back and started yelling (yes this was yelling) at the employee for treating them like it. Never once did she apologize. Never once did she have her kid apologize. She just let her kid learn that yelling at employees was the correct response for being called out on something you did. I cannot believe the nerve of some people. After she "karen-ed" at the owner and left, I went inside to reassure the owner that she was in the right and hopefully offer some encouragement (at least as much as a stranger customer could). I could tell she was deeply bothered by the exchange with the Karen, and I don't blame her. It sucks when your words are twisted against you and your business integrity is questioned. Sending all of my positive energy and vibes to this business and the employees there. Wishing you a Karen-free rest of your summer! Tl;dr: this candy shop is the best on the central coast. Don't pay attention to the few negative reviews, they're from Karens.

They're known for their signature hand stretched taffy. They have around 18 flavors! Sold in 3 sizes. 1/4 lb $3.25, 1/2 lb $6.50, and 1lb $13. But they aren't a one trick pony. They also sell home made.. fudge (in Over 6 flavors) , cinnamon rolls, caramel apples, cotton candy, peanut brittle , chocolates (8 varieties); and hard candy, lollipops, soft serve and a full coffee menu. The taffy keeps me coming back. The taffy has a melt in your mouth creaminess after the first chew. Nice balanced caramelized sugar and butter base. But on hot or super cold days, the taffy can get that sticky stretch. Ok now to the ordering protocol. There are two walkup windows, two separate lines. The day I dropped in, folks were making up lines. Line cutting, very chaotic. And near customer taffy raging. Like these folks need more sugar. The cashier was in a bit of a frazzled mood. Not grumpy but exhausted. I really can't blame her. The crowd was ruff and unruly. Demanding. But she continued to provide on point customer and kept the kind moving.
