Once you become s customer of Brazee, you are one for life. Their tree surgeon came out, discussed what my trees needed, and sent me a very reasonable quote. Not "cheap", but very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the service. On the day of the appointment, they were on time, very professional, and knocked out an amazing trim of my trees. When it came time a few years later to remove some trees, they were on it, and left the wood as I had requested. I just had them out again to cut down another tree, and the service level hasn't changed. They left the stump talk so I can carve a Tiki, and the wood behind that I wanted. They are bonded and insured, so that if heaven forbid a worker gets injured or some damage occurs, it's not coming off your insurance. I'm never use a different service for my trees. Harold won the initial bid because he advertised himself as the "tree guy". Two black pine trees in front of my house had been damaged by movers with their trucks. I had wanted to remove the tree entirely but felt that I would be doing a disservice to nature. I decided to bite the bullet and pay for an expert who claims he could take care of the tree. In Harold's own words, he would treat the tree with medicine, give it a little trim and it will be good as new. I paid $775 for the application of medicine and the tree trimming. However, within two weeks after trimming, one of the black pine tree (that has been in the neighborhood for 20+ years) collapsed onto the pavement. I messaged x Harold immediately and asked him for a solution. His response was solely focused on shifting the blame to nature. He referenced the excessive heat and wind in the valley (mind you I live in studio city in California, where the weather is always hot and slightly windy) as causes for the tree over. He even went so far as to say if this was his home, he'd have the trees removed because black pines are difficult to take care of. I WISH HE COULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT TO BEGIN WITH! Especially considering that was my initial thought- to cut the trees! In my opinion, Harold took advantage of me. Cashed in on a pay day for a job that was unnecessary. He could have voiced his true opinion from the beginning, and had me pay for the removal of the tree. But that service would have been cheaper and earned him less money. I wouldn't recommend working with Harold. Trust your instinct and go with another vendor! He was also late to several of our scheduled appointments. Though he did come eventually. read more

Harold is an expert tree guy. He consulted with us about removing two enormous Brazilian pepper trees and replacing them with a single multi-trunk strawberry tree. The event drew the entire street. Brazze is definitely the best tree service we ever used. On time, efficient and extremely careful with all the little creatures that live in our trees. We were amazed how each worker used ropes to get to the top. Not a single spike was used to grip the trunks of the trees. Brazee's team of workers left our trees and yard in perfect condition. Wonderful experience, from beginning to end‼It was a small job of lightly trimming a huge atlas blue cedar infringing on walkways and roof. I contracted with Harold Brazee to trim over 20 palm trees. I wonder if this is a specialty of theirs because none of their employees climbed any of the trees to do the trimming. They left the base part of the palm frawns and never took any down until I started complaining and his workers said maybe you didn't pay enough to have those removed. I called the office and at that point and they started removing them. I have had my trees cleaned for the last 14 years and never saw such poor quality work. My patio is stained with them walking on the pods that fell down. I asked them to clean it and they cleaned a small area with simple green. They said they don't have brushes to remove it. I have to hire someone else to come in and clean up the mess. read more

Had a very good experience with Harold Brazee. They trimmed my huge Canary Island pines. Great job. They even took care of my neighbor. One tree overhangs his property. The cleanup was excellent. They even pulled out some growth (mostly ivy) around the base of the trees. But he is expensive. read more

Had work done by this company couple of years ago. Although his price was on the high side, I was generally satisfied with the work. The problem is that he is too busy, and his scheduling is totally unreliable. His workmen do not show up as scheduled, and unless you follow-up, there is no explanation. His office assistant, Renee, seems to book appointments in a vacuum. There are more reliable companies that have a greater consideration for their customers, and do not waste their time waiting for workers to keep agreed upon schedules. We had a 20' tree in our backyard that needed to come down, as well as a few other smaller trees in the front yard, so we called Harold to come and take a look. He walked around with us, and sent us an estimate on what we had discussed. The day of service, he came with his job managers and we all walked around together and went over the scope of work. That was fantastic because when the rest of the crew showed up later on, everyone was on the same page. There was no standing around, not knowing where to start-they went right to work and got it done! His guys were very safe, and we never felt any trepidation watching them work-except for the fact that none of us would ever consider climbing a tree that high up! That is a skill my friends! We needed a company to come out and evaluate several trees on our property, including a giant black walnut tree. Jose came out and was very knowledgeable, and recommended that we remove a couple of trees near the house and would have his team trim down the rest. Not long after, I received a written estimate and within a week or so, had a date to get the work done. The team that arrived was prompt, efficient, took care of all the trees and then made sure to clean up the yard after they were done. Harold is an experienced, knowledgeable tree trimmer and he has an efficient crew who work quickly and clean up well at the end of the job. That being said, it is no wonder he is booked weeks in advance. However, due to a lack of communication in the front office - our appointment (for which we had waited 4 weeks) was given over to someone else. Once we confirmed their snafu - we expected the service to honor our original appointment date. Imagine our surprise when we received a call that it was too hot to trim our tree at the appointed time since the dripping sap would attract the wood borer beetle....okay, I will defer to the expert (even though Harold had told us our stone pine was not at risk from the beetles). However, we were asked to reschedule for 5 weeks out with the 'hope that the weather will be cooler' by then. I respect Brazee's expertise and work but I don't want to feel that our customer loyalty and expectations are not worth the effort to get the job done in a timely manner. read more

Harold R Brazee Co. came to cut a large neighbor's walnut tree. Since some of the branches of the tree were on my side they needed an access. I was at work when my Mom who is only Russian speaking was disturbed seeing heavy branches falling on our side on the Aloe bush and large Cactus. She called me at work to speak with them for they not only make a mess but also break our plants. When I spoke to them I explained that I cant open the gate for our yard dog was unleashed and my Mom is unable to confine him in the garage; for she had compression fractures and she would not be able to take concrete steps down to open the garage door and ask the dog in then close the door and climb the stairs up. Therefore, I have not given them consent to trespass my property. Yet they disregarded what has been discussed and jumped over the gate and, as Mom says, they were carrying the large branches across the yard knocking and breaking anything on the way. I came home and I was disgusted to such a disrespectful treatment to my property. The Cactus branches were broken, the Aloe was bended down, the wire fence around the planted area was down, other plants branches were broken, the potted plants knocked down, branches of the walnut tree in the pool, and the gate's lock is bended that I cant use it, have to replace it, and entering my property without my consent. Their attitude and actions I will name barbarous. Even 1 star they do not deserve. read more
