I just had them out again to cut down another tree, and the service level hasn't changed. They left the stump talk so I can carve a Tiki, and the wood behind that I wanted. They are bonded and insured, so that if heaven forbid a worker gets injured or some damage occurs, it's not coming off your insurance. I'm never use a different service for my trees. I had wanted to remove the tree entirely but felt that I would be doing a disservice to nature. I decided to bite the bullet and pay for an expert who claims he could take care of the tree. In Harold's own words, he would treat the tree with medicine, give it a little trim and it will be good as new. I paid $775 for the application of medicine and the tree trimming. However, within two weeks after trimming, one of the black pine tree (that has been in the neighborhood for 20+ years) collapsed onto the pavement. I messaged x Harold immediately and asked him for a solution. His response was solely focused on shifting the blame to nature. He referenced the excessive heat and wind in the valley (mind you I live in studio city in California, where the weather is always hot and slightly windy) as causes for the tree over. He even went so far as to say if this was his home, he'd have the trees removed because black pines are difficult to take care of. I WISH HE COULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT TO BEGIN WITH! Especially considering that was my initial thought- to cut the trees! In my opinion, Harold took advantage of me. Cashed in on a pay day for a job that was unnecessary. He could have voiced his true opinion from the beginning, and had me pay for the removal of the tree. But that service would have been cheaper and earned him less money. I wouldn't recommend working with Harold. Trust your instinct and go with another vendor! He was also late to several of our scheduled appointments. Though he did come eventually.

We continue to use them yearly for tree maintenance, but this year we had them do some landscaping and we couldn't be happier with how our backyard turned out. There were a few moving components here. They replaced our lawn, installed decomposed granite, redid our sprinkler system, trimmed our trees, and helped us rethink how we were using the whole backyard. The difference is so wonderful for us. We hadn't been using the yard much before, but not we actually want to spend a lot of time in it. One great thing is that they would do whatever we asked but were honest also and helped us plan with great suggestions. Gonzalo gave us good advice told us when some of our ideas probably weren't the best approach. The honesty was valuable and saved us some money. They also handled things wonderfully after the work was done. We had some issues with areas of the new grass and Gonzalo came back out, looked at what was happening and helped us to identify the cause. The job wasn't done just because we had paid for it. So professional! The crew was great, the communication were good, and the end result changed our yard for the better. We spend more time in the backyard now, and that is the most important thing I can say. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering landscaping, irrigation, tree work, or a yard project.
