My husband and I came here to look at a ring from a particular designer (MaeVona) a few weeks ago. This is a big deal because I've waited 13 years for my real "engagement" ring and Harold Stevens is one of the few places that carry that designer. They had a few of the styles, but not the one I really wanted to see (my fault- I didn't call before hand). Carla was absolutely wonderful! Not only did she offer to bring in the style I had hoped to see, but just overall- her personality was so friendly and welcoming! She is so knowledgeable and really enjoys what she does. Her enthusiasm is wonderful! She mentioned that the ring wouldn't take long to come in, but she was going to be away for a few weeks and would have another jeweler assist us. Though I'm sure we would still have been in good hands, we wanted to wait and come back to deal with Carla. She sent me an email as soon as she was back to let me know she had returned and my husband and I going back today. She's even selected a few stones we could look at (not being a diamond person, she recommended an alternate stone that I immediately fell in love with). We couldn't be more excited! These people are incredible. First, they reset my grandmother's engagement ring as a pendant for a necklace, and it is beautiful. I cried when I saw it. Second, they help my husband-to-be choose a gorgeous diamond for our engagement ring. I found a band design I liked and took them a photo. They didn't make it as nice as the design we had fallen in love with--they made it 100x better. The person who made this band and set the diamond is a true artist. My boyfriend and I went to Harold Stevens to look for an engagement ring. We had no trouble finding it, just a bit of trouble with parking. We chose them because they carry the designer Scott Kay. They have by far the best selection of diamonds and assorted gemstones. Knowing absolutely nothing about diamonds, they took the time to carefully explain variations and what to look for. They worked beautifully in our budget, never pressured us and were extremely kind. It's hard to put into words how fantastic my experience was with Harold Stevens. I chose them after reading all these positive reviews on Yelp and couldn't have been more satisfied with my choice. HS was recomended to me and I was told to go and find Ryan. That's what I did and it was the best decision I made in regards to the process. Ryan was very helpful from beggining to end. I went to Harold Stevens Jewelers and met with Joy, who was absolutely wonderful in helping me find the perfect engagement ring. When I arrived, Joy already had a number of rings out for me and explained each one with patience and care. Each ring was absolutely stunning, and helped figure out exactly what I wanted. I ended up selecting a few elements from different rings, and Joy didn't hesitate to say they could create exactly what I was looking for. The only problem was I needed the ring in a week, and because of the stone, it wasn't going to be easy. I found this jewelry store on Yelp, as I had been wanting to buy an engraved dog tag necklace for my fiance's birthday, and I had no idea where to buy men's jewelry. It was conveniently located a short walk away from my office downtown, and also has a website where I could get an idea what I'd be looking at. It is located in a bank building, but easy to find. I really liked the service there. Ryan helped me out, and showed me a couple different necklaces. He also tried it on to show me how it would look, and so I could make sure the chain was the proper length. He also helped me decide how the engraving should look. Anyway, the service was prompt, and I got a call a few days later letting me know the necklace was ready. Anyway, I love it, and my fiance wears it everyday! Besides being a high-end jewelry store, they have a lot of artsy pieces from around the world. I saw several displays with unique jewelry that seems like it would make great gifts, and several pieces were around $50 or so. I was very impressed with Harold Stevens. I walked in off the street and they treated me like a V.I.P. They had a huge selection, jewelry of all kinds. It was my one year anniversary and I wasn't sure what I should get, but I knew how much I could afford to spend. He had been working with another jeweler to design a ring for me and it just wasn't coming out right. I discovered Harold Steven's back in 2007. It is about time I wrote a review. I am not a huge yelper but when you have consistently have had great experiences you want everyone else to know about it! The costumer service here is phenomenal. I meet Joy, first, who helped when I ordered my wedding band. Harold's is one of the only stores that the East Coast designer, Saturn Jewelers, will ship to in the area. Joy was amazing. She offered to clean my ring and stayed late so I could pick up my band after work. I only wish I had known they were there so my husband could have purchased my engagement ring from them. I later met Harold himself, their son Ryan not to mention their wonderful staff Audrey and Yolanda. The store is family owned and operated and the individual attention and care they give to each and every costumer (no matter the budget) is something that is almost impossible to come by these days. I enjoy my time there so much that whenever I get their hand written thank you cards in the actual mail I sing a little jingle, "I love Harold Steven's, I love Harold Steven's..." Not only do they thank me, usually around certain holidays and anniversaries they include a $50 gift card. They also have a layaway program that my husband uses frequently. Put a percent down and then make payments every month. There is no credit needed. This allows my husband to purchase things I love that he otherwise would not be able to get me. Anytime I wear a piece of their jewelry I get compliments beyond belief. Don't be scared to go in because it looks so nice. They will create anything within your budget. I try to let all my friends and family know don't buy jewelry anywhere else. Harold Steven's Jewelers is the place to go for any jewelry need. They have the highest quality pieces, will work with any budget, treat everyone like royalty, do free estimates, and are all around just wonderful people. Don't go to some mass produced, warehouse jewelry store. Go to where you'll feel secure in your purchase and know that once you go here you'll keep going back. My (now) husband and I went back to Harold Stevens to purchase our wedding bands. I chose a white gold, eternity band, and my hubby chosen a brushed palladium band. As expected, the customer service was on point. Yolanda was patient and very helpful as we shopped and made our selection. We were very happy when we picked up our wedding bands. Before our wedding, I went back every couple of months for a complimentary cleaning (you get your jewelry back at the same visit) and polishing service (which takes a few days). After the ring had been cleaned, and especially after it has been polished, it sparkled like brand new. Without my knowledge, my hubby even went back to Harold Stevens before our wedding to have them set a pair of tanzanite as earrings for my wedding gift, and they were perfect. I bought my wife an engagement ring here years ago. The whole experience was great, and Harold is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The reason is that not only did he sell me a gorgeous stone at a fair price, he taught me how to really look at stones. By the time I purchased, he had said I had a good eye for stones, and I was able to call out small differences in size, cut, clarity that could be confirmed by the GIA breakdown. Had a great experience working with Ryan on the recommendation of a coworker. I was getting a custom wedding band to match an antique engagement ring. I designed the band myself and supplied the drawings and the jeweler at Harold Stevens did an excellent job creating my band--it is eactly the way I designed it--couldn't have been any better. It also came with the promise that they will take care of my ring as long as I have it--cleaning and polish, checking the stones, and what not. Also came with an appraisal. We had to shop around for custom work and while Harold Stevens wasn't the cheapest, they were reasonable and within our budget. We made the mistake of first attempting to use the cheapest and ended up leaving them a one star review and coming to Harold Stevens (which was my first choice) :-) Their prices for resizing are also very reasonable, based on the number of stones in your ring. In August 2011, it cost me $67 to have a laser resizing on a three-stone platinum engagement ring. Prices change, but this should illustrate my point. Also, their laser is onsite, meaning they don't have to ship it somewhere else to get the work done liek other places do. Personally, I like knowing my ring will stay safely in one spot. So in the end, you can shop around, or just go to Harold Stevens and trust that all the 5-star reviewers know what they're talking about :-P read more

Harold did an absolutely exquisite job on restoring a 100+ year old ring. The ring had sentimental value and Harold spent a lot of time figuring out how to reinforce the weak parts without losing the look and keeping the original parts.
