This is a new location for Harold's Chicken. I decided to try it today. They only take cash or cash app or Zelle. I waited for 20 minutes so I know the chicken was freshly made. I ordered the 1/4 white meat dinner. I tried the fries in the car and was surprised to find that they were limp and just warm. The Cole slaw was in a miniature container just as well because the taste was not to my liking. The chicken breast was large and breaking it apart it was very juicy. The crust on the chicken was so tough that I was afraid to chew it. The fries were only seasoned with pepper and to add salt after the fact they were just so so! You get 2 red sauces in little containers. One was hot sauce the other was a mild ketchup. They give you a slice of bread that wasn't fresh. I was very disappointed and won't go back. This was my second attempt at this Harold's. One tiny thing of sauce for 12 wings and it busted. Second time 24 wings and no sauce! The sauce is Famous HOW do you forget that?! Bring back Uncle Remus in Boilingbrook! Go to the Joliet location it's worth the long wait in traffic. read more

We go to the Harolds in Joliet regularly but wanted to try Plainfield because they just opened and it's less than 1/2 a mile from where we live. I never want to go back but my husband wants to give it another chance. The menu at the counter has different prices (lower) than what they actually charge. In Joliet we pay about $13 and leave a tip spending around $15 for a 6 wing dinner with coleslaw. Here we paid $17 before leaving a tip. The food was just ok. The chicken was over cooked in my opinion and the fries were unseasoned and hard. Add that to the lady at the counter ignoring us when we first came in and then being unfriendly...they lost me as a customer. read more

Waited 40 minutes to be told that they ran out of chicken wings. When I asked to get a refund, no one seemed to know how to process the refund and had to call the owner. They also had to huddle to determine how and what to say to me when they discovered they didn't have any wings left. It's pretty ridiculous when you're known for wings and you run out of wings. Their attitudes about everything was not positive whatsoever. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location in Plainfield, but will continue to go to the Joliet location as I don't have any issues with the service, food or the fact that they don't run out of wings. Chicken & fish was fresh. If you know original Harolds this place is a cousin of it so it will take care of the cravings. If you don't know anything about the original Harolds then you are still in for a good spot for fried chicken & fish. Restaurant was clean, service was fast. Overall a good experience. read more

The food wasn't what I expected. I ordered four wings and a large perch. I've never seen wings so small they good but for the cost it was equivalent to 2 wings and a half of small fry. The perch dinner had the smallest pieces and the same amount of fries. For $35 bucks we are still hungry . Definitely not like the original Harold's Chicken. Very disappointed. It was clean it seems to be a family business great customer service. Maybe they will get better after they are open for awhile. I won't be returning. read more

just ordered chicken from new plainfield harolds cant lie customer service on phone was very friendly the chicken tastes pretty good freshly cooked french fries were good as well but ...thats all that was in bag ...harolds usually comes with bread and coleslaw...i asked for black pepper ..ketchup and hot sauce...and it tasted like they put some kind of other sauce that tasted like possibly bbq maybe but i would hope thats not their mild sauce if so its not even close ...the price is way higher as i ordered half white dinner and 6 wings dinner and 2 cans of sprite priced at $44 that's insane...i try hard to support our small business but for some reason its almost impossible to get what is expected especially for the cost...i was hoping this restaurant would be good as the one in joliet has closed the closest one worth going to is over hour drive away ..im sadden!!! read more

Horrible customer service. Went in to pick up an order and the worker was rude to everyone waiting for their order. Then a dasher was leaving and the worker started screaming at him because he never confirmed the order on his phone when clearly she saw he had the order on his phone. This was also after he was waiting well over 30 minutes for the order to begin with. Then she had the nerve to continue bashing him when he left. Felt more like everyone in there was inconveniencing her than giving her business. I wouldn't ever order from here again read more

My son wanted to go to Harold's Chicken because he tried it in another one with his friends before. We went last night before closing after dashing all afternoon, and the service is terrible. I didn't know it was cash only, but anyways we got money from ATM and placed an order for 2 meals of the 5 wings with fries. The 2 meals were about 29 dollars, and we waited for about 40 minutes and had to go up and say something to the lady, and I don't know if that was security sitting down with her, but they forgot about us. The guys in the back were focusing on cleaning instead of getting my order out on time to me. I even tipped them, and apparently, the only one because there were only coins in their tip jar. The chicken was nice and crispy and just barely warm, and the fries were absolutely terrible, the coleslaw with no flavor and the bread just falling apart, probably stale. I don't think I will be going back, so to the owner, please get your employees to focus on what really matters, the customer, and the quality of the food if you plan on sticking around. The prices are so high for the customer service we didn't get and the quality of the food. Summer is coming, and you guys could do so well. read more

Horrible experience. Ordered tenders and livers. Was told they are out of livers. So just ordered a large tenders. Nothing else. Waited 30 minutes for it to be ready. Then, when I got home, discovered they shorted me by 2 tenders, and the tenders they did put in the bag were tough (way overcooked). And the cole slaw 's tiny container was maybe a quarter full. Also found a slice of white bread in the bag. They did not offer a choice of dipping sauce. And they were very unfriendly. In fact, when I picked my order up from the counter (again, after a half hour wait), it was me who said thank you, while the store employee just stared at me. Oh, one last thing, the kitchen employees followed no food safety guidelines. They were dressed as gas station attendants. Long, uncovered hair, tons of jewelry, no gloves, dirty clothes.
