The website say half the price of they actually charge in store. the Harold's in south loop is definitely has more reasonable pricing with some quality food. Makes no since . Harold's Chicken West loop has good food but be ready to pay for everything. As I reviewed my receipt and watched my order input they charge for lemon pepper and other items too. Most Harold's don't do this. Additionally, I'd recommend checking your order before leaving as I paid for the lemon pepper and middle sauce but my catfish didn't have either. I didn't realize until I was home so it was too late. It was still good and fried right but missing mild sauce and lemon pepper should be a crime lol. Last feedback but chicken breast for my white and cat combo was dry and definitely overcooked it was seasoned good but super dry. The wing however was amazing. I think overall they have some kinks to workout still but they are good. The building appears very new, and is welcoming. There's plenty of paid street parking out front too. Terrible. Do not waste your time or money. Chicken made us sick, debating on contacting an attorney. Back in Chicago visiting and went to this location for the first time and we ate the chicken on the road driving back. It had to be old and the people who served it had to know it was old. Should have known because the service was suspect at best. My observation is they take care of customers they are familiar with and say the hell with everyone else. This place should not be in business. Another bucket list item checked! Visited the famous Harold's Chicken, the one closest to me is in the West Loop. Parking is street parking for the most part. Inside is fairly empty, you mostly just order and eat elsewhere, not much dine in options, but that was not important to us at the time. For food, there were TONS of options and truly speaking I wanted everything. We went with a 16 piece chicken bucket, and for sides pizza pocket with fries and jalapeño poppers. Highly highly recommend you get the mild sauce, at least 8 ozs. We went with 3.5oz but that was not enough. Personally was a bigger fan of the mild sauce than the hot sauce, which tastes like a generic franklin's hot type of sauce, nothing terribly special. Chicken was very good! Incredibly crispy, fresh, and hot. I love to douse each bite with sauce. There were a few wing pieces that were a bit dry so the sauce helped get those down. Pizza pocket with fries was probably my favorite side. My only grievance was with the Jalapeño poppers that were just super oily, it flooded the bag that they came in. I've had Harold's before as i have family in Milwaukee and Chicago and always enjoyed it. I came down to Chicago with friends and my Bf and we decided to get some Harolds on the way back home. Everything smelled good and was hot. (I don't have a picture of the wire because i stormed back in so disgusted and upset) but he's there was a metal wire poking out of the chicken wing. The guy working the front said he can do Refund or make another so i had him remake. I get back to the car and now there is a plastic (like from a soda bottle) in my fries . First of all, I am allll in love with this franchise. I was told idk how many times from friends who have lived in chicago their whole lives to make sure i ate at Harolds. After watching the bulls get demolished i was starving and Harolds was a couple of blocks away so why not. It was around 10pm, and it was actually super busy in there so i knew it had to be good. The girl taking orders had the worst attitude known to man but that made me even more excited for the food because its usually the quick places with bad service that have pretty awesome drunk food. Got 6 wings, mild sauce, hush puppies and a drink. There was a YELP coupon for check ins and without hesitation the girl did not want to honor it, told me i HAD to pay cash and when i told her it wasnt stated she rolled her eyes and proceeded to swipe my card like i knew she would. But back to the food, the chicken came out nice and hot and crispy, laying on a bed of soggy fries with some random bread slices, the hush puppies oil was soaking through the bad. IM not sure if it was the 5 long islands i had in me or the food was THAT good but it was definitely my spot for drunk times next time im in the CHI. I use to love this Harold's before they moved. It's close to my job but I resist everyday. I fInally caved in and went for lunch. The upside is that they have lunch specials that includes a drink. I ordEred the wiNg lunch special and added a piece of perch. It was a little crowded. I do like that they have there different sauces available for you to use on your own. I order via Uber eats at 11:06. Latest delivery was 11:30, at 11:30 it changed to 11:55. Now I can see my Uber driver was there at 11:30. Now fast for to 12. The guy taking the orders has his mask on his chin the whole time, they didn't seem to care when there was 11 people inside(sign says max 6). On to the food. The chicken tasted old. Harold's is a staple in Chicago and for good reason. The signature chicken spot didn't gain its popularity without the help of their reasonable prices, iconic mild sauce and dishes, & accommodating staff. Be sure to check in on yelp prior to ordering for a special treat. We stopped in prior to attending Aubrey and The Three Migos show at United Center (in walking distance from venue & great for pre-concert food). Our food came out in a timely manner and looked as good as it tasted. This is one of those places where you can eat like a king without breaking the bank. Luckily there are now 2 Harolds locations in Indianapolis so a road trip isn't required for my fix! But with that being said, next time I am in the Windy City Harold's will most certainly be on my list of stops to make. read more

I knew it was gonna be good, the cashier had an attitude, I knew it was gonna be good. THEY HAD BOTTLES OF MISTIC IN THE COOLER, I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE GOOD. And lemme tell you, it was f*cking good. Tender, crispy chicken wings man. Their sauce is the perfect mix of thick and rich. Not funny, it doesn't overpower or make the wings soggy. The wife and I split a 6 piece, it comes with fries which we didn't even realize as I'd gotten hush puppies, which themselves were good. This is definitely a 4-stars for a Harold's kind of place. Service on a Sunday afternoon was friendly, fast, and the staff looked like they were having a pretty good time (I'm sure it might be different when things are really busy but that's understandable). As usual I got a half white with hot and mild sauce. The chicken was juicy and fresh, with flavorful peppery skin that had a satisfying crunch despite the sauce. The fries were pretty darn good, nicely browned, and definitely a notch above some other locations. Prices were very reasonable. As a bonus, this is a clean, spacious restaurant with a lot of seating, an actual bathroom, and an extra sink for washing off all of that delicious Harold's grease and sauce. If you eat in, they actually have extra napkins, bottles of hot and mild sauce, plus condiments. This is really helpful and saves you a bit of time and money. While people can certainly debate the merits of different Harold's locations, I'd say this is a lot better than it gets credit for, and pretty convenient to boot. This place may not satisfy the Harold's connoisseur but it'll make most people quite happy. (I haven't ordered delivery from here so I can't speak to the negative reviews about those experiences). read more

You get a LOT of food for the $$ here. I live within a block but have only eaten here 2x. Having just moved to this area a couple of months ago, I'm still in the process of finding favorite places to eat. Every time I've eaten here, I have never been able to finish - its a LOT of food. I've always encountered the same girl at the front - taking the order, checking out, etc. At first I thought the rudeness was possibly a "Dick's Last Resort" type of customer service - now that I read some of the other reviews, I see that is not the case. It is borderline comical. My last trip in, I was determined to try to get her to smile. Epic fail. :-( But that will not stop me from going back the next time I'm hungry for fried chicken. read more
