Working with this company has been a nightmare and I'm never using them again. To start with they rescheduled me time and time again, pushing our appointments off for emergency calls (this was for a pipe leak repair as well as AC cleaning). We were told that dispatch will call us back to reschedule, and dispatch never calls back. Then when I try to call to follow-up, I'm sent to the dispatch line and have to wait on hold for 15-25 minutes to reschedule. When I tell the first operator "Hey can you ask dispatch to please call me back when they're available? I'm at work, I really don't have the time to wait on hold for 15+ mins." They say they will email dispatch to get back to me, and surprise, surprise, dispatch never calls back. And the AC cleaning I set up way back in the winter, and when the day comes.... that's right, emergency call comes up and we're told they will need to reschedule, dispatch will be in touch. Dispatch does not get in touch (see a pattern here?). I call today to get the fixes scheduled and ask that they don't reschedule again; and also ask for the AC to be cleaned... oh but guess what? AC cleaning now is all booked so I have to wait until September. Despite the fact that I had already booked back in winter and THEY were the ones who rescheduled. It's absolutely insane. I AC unit started going on the fritz during this time so I decided to schedule our them as a service call to check it out (rather than a cleaning... which apparently they can't do until September for some reason). Turns out the AC unit was dying and I needed a new one. I was given the option of a 5k deep clean for them to even start to diagnose problem to fix, or just get a whole new system. The system was 32 years old, so I opted just to get a new system all-together. They sent over sales agent Mike who sold me a 17k unit w/ condenser. We scheduled installation. Installation day comes. The techs installed the unit, but I was told by the installer that I shouldn't actually use the AC until the filter was cleaned out. I was very confused by this because my understanding was they were to provide me with a new, ready to use AC unit...but they said it doesn't include a new filtration. He says a service call needs to be put in to clean that out first. He claimed he would put a service call in for me, but he failed to do that. I called HARP / SolvIt to try to get the issue resolved. The operator was confused by this as well and said it didn't sound right to him. I was sent to dispatch and they also agreed that it didn't sound right. I was told they would need to speak with the Operations Manager to figure out exactly what was going on and they would get back to me. No one called me back. I end up doing this song and dance numerous times until I just ended up going online to book an AC appointment online just to get someone out here to speak with since no one was talking to me. The tech that came out was deeply apologetic for the entire poor experience and quickly cleaned the AC filter, which he informed me should have absolutely been cleaned out by the installation crew. The installation crew moved around boxes and a heavy cabinet but failed to put things back to where they belong and now they are blocking our basement freezer. I also emailed and left a voicemail to the sales rep, Mike, to report the poor installation experience but never heard back from him (I contacted him on May 26th, it's June 6th now).I also provided feedback in the customer service feedback form I was sent and provided my feedback on these issues, but still didn't hear back from anyone. I am deeply disappointed in HARP's poor communication and abysmal customer service. I was willing to give them another chance had Mike or any other rep reached out to attempt to apologize and make it right in a timely manner, but since they haven't I refuse to use them again, and am leaving this 1-star review to warn other potential customers against using them. This company has had us sitting without AC for 3 weeks. I repeatedly got the run around for parts being WAY back-ordered but was assured they were on it. The next time I was told "it's in Ashley's hands now" and a slightly different story about 1 part being in while the 2nd still hadn't arrived. The tech who diagnosed a few weeks ago came on Tuesday... to tell us he was sorry that his iPad with the photo of the part had broken and when it was replaced the photo was lost. So the part was never able to be ordered. He came to take another photo... so he could order the part... for the first time. Gail, who we spoke to many many times, is not only rude, and a flat out liar, but this dispatch job is beyond her capacity. She seemed happy when we said we wanted to cancel the service. Scheduled service with this company to repair my A/C. Was given a time window of 2pm to 6pm Wednesday got a call at 5pm telling me the technician was headed to my residence. They even sent an email with the dudes picture! 740 pm still no technician so I called them and after waiting about 25 minutes got an operator to tell me that they rescheduled me to Friday two days later? I can't express how disappointed and furious I am with Harp Plumbing. As a return client who initially had a great experience in 2021 and a so-so one in 2022, this third encounter in July 2023 was an absolute nightmare! (By the way, in a follow-up survey after the service, Harp asked whether you have a Yelp account, I guess they're also aware of their poor but authentic reputation on this platform. Good job, Yelp!) Quality of Work (1 out of 5 stars): The service they provided was far from satisfactory. I needed a simple toilet and sink replacement (old fixtures were functional, and new fixtures were in the garage adjacent to the bathroom), and the technician, Matt, made it seem like it was a complex task - I trusted his judgment because I thought Harp was reliable. However, it took him less than 3.5 hours to finish "a full-day job", and the quality was horrendous. (1) The vanity wasn't secured to the wall, leaving a 3/4" gap because Matt said he "doesn't touch tile" (tile baseboard). (2) Pipe rings were missing or not put back properly - note that they charged $246 for "misc system alteration and adjustment", which I thought should at least provide some non-expensive parts like the pipe rings! Matt cut the fixture packages into pieces in my garage and refused to take them away. It was such a mess! See the attached photos for the above-mentioned issues. Value for Money (1 out of 5 stars): Guess how much I paid for the service? They charged me an exorbitant amount, a whopping $2,249 (pre-taxes) for the job, excluding some essential work that they conveniently skipped - so basically it's a 600+ dollar hourly rate. I later found out that they overcharged me by a mile, considering how basic the job actually was. But even given such a premium price I paid, see the quality of the work/service I got! A licensed pro from Thumbtack quoted me $680 for the same work, including the tile baseboard cutting to secure the vanity that Harp refused to do and hauling away the old fixtures. Later, I had to spend an extra $380 (pre-taxes) to fix Harp's shoddy work - they basically re-did the vanity replacement when they needed to cut the baseboard tile. Customer Service Experience (1 out of 5 stars): Their customer service was equally disappointing. After complaining with many calls to their front desk, I was promised a callback by Melissa, but she vanished into thin air after initially offering a low amount refund, which I rightfully declined and never got. She assured me that she understood my feelings and would need to escalate this to their management team for the approval of a large amount. I never heard back from her or her teammates. The lack of communication and accountability from Harp's end is utterly frustrating. In conclusion, my experience with Harp Plumbing was a complete letdown. I've filed a formal BBB complaint and won't hesitate to seek legal recourse if necessary. My advice: steer clear of this plumbing company and find a more trustworthy and reasonably priced alternative. Called Harp to fix my tenant's gas furnace. Technician they sent out was not very nice to my tenant's and was gruff on the phone with me. They told me the heat exchanger and the ignition was bad and they quoted me $6000 to replace or $10000 for a new furnace (which they recommended of course ). Called a local business to get a second opinion and $350 later the furnace was fixed (only the ignition was bad) and the heat exchanger wasn't needing to be replaced. The local business said they couldn't have possibly known the heat exchanger was bad because they didn't test it because the ignition switch wasn't working. It's ridiculous how they tried to sell me a $10,000 install when it was unnecessary. I'm furious and will NEVER use them again. I'm so glad I got a second opinion. read more

We used SolvIt as our HVAC service for over 30 years--installed AC and boilers, kept things in repair, and answered every emergency call. Then they merged with Harp or Harp merged with them, and this morning I finally cancelled them after their third boiler inspection postponement. This follows a string of spring postponements that would have set my A/C inspection for August 18--just in time for autumn! This morning was the final insult--whether they overbook or under-hire or face incompetence in the scheduling, I have lost confidence in their ability to be here...ever. We will try CNG and wait for a refund for my service-contract fee from Harp. Again, I have no complaints about the quality of their work or the skills of their workers, but the company's scattershot management style is frustrating and unprofessional. I had the absolute worst experience with them. Please consider using a different contractor. We hired them to install heat pumps, their techs did not appear to know how to do the job, it took several visits, the last scheduled visit they did not show up. They left us with no heat and improperly installed equipment. They did manage however to bill us and forge the work completed form. There are more details, but what matter is that the work was incomplete, incorrect and they falsified documents to the financing company. Avoid the headache and choose someone else. read more

HARP's service call for our HVAC system on 11/16/22 was disgraceful and it nearly caused a water flood in our home due to the negligence of the service technician. It is very likely this is how many HARP customers are being treated, and most do not take the time to complain, they just endure it and use other companies. An incompetent and ill-mannered service technician did not address the root cause of the problem in our HVAC system - a malfunctioning condensate water pump that was constantly running and so could fail at any moment. Instead, from the get-go the technician aggressively began trying to sell me a new Furnace unit for $9,000. Noting that I was not interested in buying a new furnace, the technician got noticeably upset by my questions about the risk/benefit of what he was trying to sell me on. When I asked him about the cost of replacing the malfunctioning water pump (he quoted about $500) but he showed little interest in replacing the pump and prepared to leave. The worst part is this: When he sensed I would not fall for his $9,000 sales pitch he was in a rush to leave. As he packed up his toolbox and was leaving, I pointed out that he had not even put back the front cover of the furnace that he had removed. About 2 hours after he abruptly left, our heating system shut down triggered by a moisture sensor in the drain pan! I then discovered there was a flood of water in the drain pan (it was dry before this HARP technician came). The water had overflowed from the malfunctioning condensate pump. You see, he had unplugged the pump among many other things he had taken apart, and he NEGLECTED to plug back the water pump before he left our home. His negligence could have had a wider flooding problem had I not investigated the flooding issue myself! My wife and I had to spend a couple of hours in drying out the flood in the area. The following day we contacted another company, and they fixed the real problem by replacing the malfunctioning water pump - cost $311 (only) -- not every company is as dishonest as HARP was in this instance. I promptly reached out to this technician's supervisor at HARP with texted pictures of the flood but got no response. Eventually the supervisor called me back once he read my complaint that I left on HARP's review page. Unfortunately, the supervisor's excuse was quite unsatisfactory - he said that the technician was recovering from flu and was not thinking properly. Really?! Even if that was true, why is HARP sending unfit technicians to people's homes? No one with sufficient authority at HAPR upper management called me back to offer to see how they can restore confidence in me. Poor service from HARP! read more

Tech came out told her the unit was dangerous to run and even left a CO detector on top on the unit cause she needed to run it to get heat and stated she shouldn't run it cause it's soooooo dangerous. She calls another company out and not only is the unit safe to run but she doesn't need to replace the whole thing. Imagine that. She has a wall hung Navien combi unit. The 3-way valve was no good. Replace valve and hot water is running again. People. Be wary of these large companies. They're just trying to screw your over and I'm sure that emergency install they tried to convince her to do was gonna be well overpriced. Always get a second opinion. Best way is to join your local Facebook groups and ask there for what companies they use. read more

GREAT WORK AND TOP KNOTCH SERVICE!!! Reached out to HARP today for Gas Furnace maintenance and received the most excellent Service Tech. Jeffrey Negron (from New Yawk). His service today was thorough and knowledgeable. His troubleshooting and diagnosis was both fast and efficient. The labor and repairs were speedy and proficient.-His service skills were exceptional. Not only did he show me exactly what he was doing but he explained and broke down how the entire system worked to me. In the end, I needed a circulation pump. He promptly ordered the part picked it up from the parts center and returned to install it. His work was second to none. As a result I ended up becoming a HARP member to get the part under warranty and slightly discounted due to his helpful information. Most shockingly, after the installation was finished, instead of packing his tools and high tailing it out of the basement, Jeffrey again took the time to make sure that everything was functioning correctly and waited with me to see if the problem was fully resolved. All in all, I'd highly recommend both HARP and Jeffrey Negron (if you can request him). I know that I will if I need to be serviced again. Much thanks to Jeffrey and the HARP Team!!!! This company is an absolute RIPOFF!!! We had an issue with our AC unit and they sent a technician over. We'll after he found an issue he recommended we get an entire new AC unit and Air Handler unit in the attic. He quoted us for the entire system plus installation between 15 to 20 THOUSAND!!!! Yes your reading that correctly. After talking this over with my wife and calling a few people we all got the same answer from everyone, they are charging you double for everything. They actually thought we were joking when we mentioned the quote. I will say they are reliable when it comes to an emergency but they are absolutely EXPENSIVE and a total RIPOFF!!! Going on about a month with the issues for our boiler. We've had 6 visits, here is a run down of each visit: First let me start by saying dont try to talk to their service manager who I think is Shawn. I've left multiple voice mails, left messages with people on phone for him to call me back. Over this month long ordeal and I've gotten nothing. Visit 1 - Sent the wrong technicians that weren't able to diagnose problem. Even though we told them what type of boiler we had. I missed 1/2 of work and pay. Visit 2- Correct technician comes out. Here for about 3 hours, cant find the problem. Offers 2 solutions. #1 a descaling for $500 then if that doesnt work replace a pump for $900. Descaling didn't work so we moved onto replacing the pump. Visit 3 - Technicican comes with wrong pump. Has to leave. (Another 1/2 day of work/pay missed). Visit 4 - Technician comes with wrong pump, again. Has to leave, but this guy Kevin is absoutley amazing and super knowledgable. (Another 1/2 of work/pay missed again) also noticed the bill had gone UP $150. Called customer services, weirdly enough I was told "Oh it just so happens we had a price hike THAT DAY, so we will bring you back down to original cost." They also did offer to take a couple hundred more off because of their numerous wrong techs or wrong pumps, which is nice, but doesn't come close to covering the pay I missed for missing work. Visit 5 - Today, waiting on tech right now. Dispatch just called asking if they could delay to tomorrow because their tech is held up. I said absolutely not. We will see who shows up, when, if they have the right part, and if they send the right person because I have little faith in them as of right now. Will update soon! read more

The Technician came out to diagnose why the Air conditioner is not kicking on. After 2 hours he let me know that a certain part needs to be replaced. The cost to install it 1024. The part only cost around 95. Another company wants 525. As far as I am concerned Harp is not customer friendly. I feel they take advantage of older folk. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY - ELDER ABUSE! A close family member recently was having trouble with their furnace. HARP came out to look at it a few times with no result. Then, they made an emergency visit on Thanksgiving ($$$) and told my relative they needed a new one. There was a salesperson there and a tech guy. They were clearly in cahoots and convinced my relative to buy a new one that was going to cost $10K. They delivered it the next day and thankfully were unable to install it because it was too big for my family member's condo. A friend of the family took a look at the situation and, as we suspected, it was only the thermostat that needed to be fixed. That was replaced and some additional work was done, but they never needed a new furnace. These greedy people should be ashamed of themselves, especially after my relative was loyal to them for over a decade. One star is too generous, but since I'm forced to leave a rating, one it is. read more

We have been Harp customers since 2012 and purchased new systems (Central Air and Oil Furnace) from Harp. At the time of purchase the strongly advised becoming members of their "Premier Service" program. In July of 2022 our AC suddenly stopped working. We called Harp because we pay monthly for "Premier Service" and were told at least 5 days for someone to come out to fix it. It took several very terse conversations to get someone in 3 days. This year, 2023, we called March to schedule our annual Central Air maintenance and were told "we called too late and they were fully booked for the season but could keep checking the wait list". After trying monthly through July it was obvious that they would not be performing maintenance on our AC unit. We did schedule the annual maintenance for our Furnace on that July call on their "earliest available date" 11/24/2023. On Tues evening we received a text message stating that the technician would be at our home 11/22/2023. We called the office and were told that was accidental but that the technician Would be at our home on 11/24 between 8am -10 am. 24 hours later we got a voicemail (on Thanksgiving) saying that our service needed to be rescheduled. Today when we called, a supervisor tried to convince us that we were being unreasonable. He indicated that he could get our furnace serviced on the "next available date" January 11th. We used to recommend Harp to all of our friends and work colleagues. We now recommend strongly that they avoid this organization at all costs. They do not provide the level of service that they advertise, they shamelessly scam their customers out of money under the guise of "Premier Service". It is a shame that a previously reputable company has fallen so low. read more

Once reliable for scheduling, being on time and doing excellent work, I can only say that their technicians are still good but the company management is sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Waited four hours for my confirmed appointment and the technician never showed up nor contacted me that no one would be here. Three calls to H.A.R.P. had me transferred the phantom "Dispatch" where I cooled my heels on hold for nearly 45 minutes. Raise your standards of performance, H.A.R.P. This is an update to my two prior reviews (11/25/2022 and 1/25/2023). 1) On 4/13/2023, with an outdoor temperature of 90-degrees, the Fujitsu unit wouldn't turn on. A technician came out the following day and found the "computer board locked into Error code, because the handler and the computer was looking for a pump, and there is no pump." The technician opined that this problem could have been anticipated back in November when instead of a new water pump, the condensate was diverted into pipes running outside the house. 2) In December 2022, HARP extended my Warranty Maintenance Agreement on two units for two additional years at no cost, with an expiration of 5/29/2025. However, this past June 8th, I was charged the monthly maintenance agreement fee. 3) On 6/15/2023, I called HARP to ask that the aforementioned maintenance fee I was incorrectly charged be refunded. At the same time, I made an appointment for a "spring" tune-up. The first appointment available for a "spring" tune-up is SEPTEMBER 22, 2023. Stay tuned for my next review! November 2021 - Ok - I get the need for for normal maintenance / inspection appointments to be rescheduled by Harp due to high volume of "emergency" calls. But if you booked an appointment in Mid-October 2021 for a visit in first week of November 2021 then have it canceled/rescheduled with next available in January 2022! Placed at back of the line even behind others with normal maintenance / inspection appointments? What guarantees do I have that I'll be pushed back again? Why not identify other "normal maintenance / inspection appointments" closer to January and move them back a few weeks and then get others further up the scheduled. read more

This is an update from my 4/18/2023 review. service techs came out on may 11, 2023, to perform annual a.c. inspection. after they finished their inspection came the bombshell. they informed me that the a.c. system had seen it's better days and they would write up some options. here are some of the options they offered me below. they were going to charge me $521.00 for a capacitor that costs $7.00. $644.00 to clean blower. this company is insane. i found out that these technicians that come out are like car salesmen, they make 10% of every product they sell. option #4 was quote for an entire new a.c and furnace unit for $17,000 to $24,000, so these technicians would have received %10 of this sale. the harp techs said option #4 would be the best for peace of mind and good for re sale value. I have been customer of Harp for over 10 years. I had them replace 2 furnaces, and my air conditioners, service my equipment and provide yearly maintanence on both heating and ac. They have gone severely downhill since COVID. They are at their worst now. They have rescheduled maintanence services multiple times. I also have signed up for contracts so they can provide me quick service. I had no heat the other day. Called them immediately at 630 AM and was told they could not provide me service that day - an extremely cold day. I told them I had small children in the house. I was told they could come next day. All day I googled and tried to figure out how to get heat. I replaced batteries, and replaced filters . I got the heat working again but I kept the appointment for them to just check it out. I was hoping they could do my maintanence when I was there as I had an appointment soon (after they cancelled it 4x) . The man who came was extremely nice and he tried to contact them. He was very sorry to tell me that he had to leave my house and also charged me 89.00 for a service call. Central air stopped working, (air was coming out, but it wasn't cold). A tech came by and diagnosed the problem. Said was $2k just for parts, then amended that and said would be over $5k to fix including labor and would be best to get new system as he wasn't sure how long fix would last. He also said the Freon was slightly low, other company techs said that can't test that unless the system is running, which it wasn't. A sales guy came by within 2 hours and said to get new central air would be $19k and to get a split heat pump $23k. I got 2 other quotes, for repair and new systems, both said they could fix it for under $600 and basically said that components break or wear out, after all the system is 21 years old. They did say that they could go again if there's another underlying issue, but for $600 should start with the fix and not spend thousands replacing the system. And their quotes were 50% less for switching out the CA as new regulations don't come in until 2025 and so can use the same air handler, (Harp told me I had to change everything), but even if changed the air handler as well the quotes were 25% less. Seems that Harp is less interested in fixing problems and more interested in making big ticket sales and overcharging those by 25%-50% read more

I called on Thursday and scheduled an A/C tuneup at our condo in Hartford a couple months out based on a special they emailed me about. On Friday the dispatcher called me and said they don't go to the "big cities" so she had to cancel my appointment. The guy I was on the phone with for 15 minutes taking all my information doesn't know your service area? Odd. 2 days later my A/C in my house dies so I called Harp Sunday morning. Their website says they have emergency service with no extra charge so I called them. It was May 23rd and their next available appointment was May 31st. You'll see from my prior review I am a customer of theirs and 8 days is the soonest they can come, but I scheduled. I called another local place in South Windsor where I live and they offered to come out same day Sunday for time and a half, or Monday morning. They came Monday morning and quickly diagnosed a bad motor and replaced it. THAT is how you take care of a customer! I guess I need to cancel my 5/31 appointment. Who needs a doctor that can't see you when you're sick?? Maybe Harp's "game" is the cheap routine check-up with upsell on the spot; my concern with my prior experience with them when my $99 cleaning went over $400 because they said i needed a capacitor. read more

Please cancel my contract and remove the incorrectly installed gas furnace. I can't turn the system on and my house is 92 degrees!!!!

Not the SAME reputable company they USED to be. In the past I could not recommend this company more. Today I tell people RUN FAR AWAY. LAZY company. The ONLY TASK they take on now is to sell a customer NEW equipment when a customer may NOT need new equipment. I have a furnace that was giving me problems. Called Harp first. The next thing I know they're handing me a quote for a brand new furnace. Thank goodness I investigated a second opinion only to find out that the furnace I had was still under warranty and could be repaired as the manufacturer provided the parts needed for free and I only had to pay for the labor to install the parts. Shame on Harp, shame on your company for trying to take the easy way out and for trying to take advantage of the customer. First harp is trying to tell me a new furnace I did not need and then they start chiming in on oh we could save you money on a new air conditioning unit or we can also replace your water heater, I wasn't asking for any of that I wanted an honest company and they are not honest and how is SolvIt Home Services affiliated with Harp now? Good luck too when you're needing an appointment as they never have times available or they are notorious for postponing appointments last minute. read more

Made HVAC repair appt. Given a time. Harp cancelled the next day. I reset appt for the following day. The next day, Harp called to make it an earlier appt. at 8:00am---1st appt. of the day, allegedly. 8:30am---no tech, no phone call to apprise on lateness. I then cancelled with Harp and will never use this company again. read more

We haven't had heat or hot water since June 12. A technician came out the next day and gave us a quote on replacement parts, which we accepted shortly after. We were told that the parts had to be ordered and that is the last time I've gotten a call from them. We are now 7 days without heat and hot water and, no matter how many times I've called, I can't get an ETA (estimated time of arrival) for parts delivery and service. All calls go to their doorkeeper reps, who are about as customer-oriented as cats. read more

Installed a dented a/c unit. Did work that was not in contract, and didn't do work that was. Almost 2 weeks to get them to come back for issues reported. Band aid repair, 2nd tech came out, made some adjustments, when asked about air leakage, I got a "its not that bad" answer. They will NOT be back. This company has one of the most unprofessional customer services I have ever encountered. The work techs have no fault in my experience. Rather, the company seems to be completely disconnected from the top to dispatch services. Pending a home sale, I paid in full, a 10k plus a/c service which still had follow up work to be completed due to missing equipment/parts. It's been over two weeks and I have not received a single email or call to follow up. Upon calling customer service, none of their reps,3 plus supervisor to be precise, took any responsibility to rectify this. Everyone who answered the call seemed to be in an oblivious state of mind. Up until this day, I'm yet to hear from this company with regards to the incomplete job in my home. I'm not one to complain about service but this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company service for anyone who uses them. My experience doesn't have to be yours, but somehow I felt it in my gut from my first interaction on the phone, that this was going to be a circus. It is. Good luck. read more

We had a Harp rep come to our house to quote us AC / Furnace. I was so turned off how the sales person went from $20,000+ down to $14.000+ just to make a sale.The show he put on calling his boss back and forth was a joke, so theatrical. Told him that they were my first quote and that I needed to wait till end of week for us to make a decision. He was so pushy I had to ask him to leave the house before I lost my Sh$&t with him. Now he won't stop calling ,texting and emailing. The harassment needs to stop!! Just for that even if they come in lower I will not go with them. I hate pushy people!! read more

The technicians I have used have been competent, but the customer service is horrible. I have an annual service contract for which I pay a monthly fee, but when I called in April to make a maintenance appointment there is nothing available until July. Last year they cancelled my furnace maintenance Appt. without informing me! I intended to cancel my contract but forgot until I had already paid a couple of months this year. Will definitely cancel this year. Also the online booking does not work. read more

If you want to waste your time, schedule an appointment with Harp. It's an easy formula. You'll receive a promotional postcard or email advertising a fantastic deal. You'll schedule an online appointment, often for the next day. Soon after, they'll call to reschedule because the appointment isn't available. Then you'll reschedule your service appointment, and take a day off from work. The morning of the appointment, they'll call to cancel! Fool me once, shame on you.
