I've had three pools built by Harper Pools over the years and each one was absolutely perfect!

Even if you don't know what you are looking for, Dennis, Claudia & their family will help you find it. They are so patient, knowledgeable and down-to-earth. You might see them at the home show, the fair grounds, or like me - at Costco! But wherever you see them, be sure to chat them up about their products, you'll be glad that you did. I love their no-pressure sales approach and the considerable amount of knowledge they are willing to share. They have everything from smaller two or four person models, right on up to a large swim spa for the whole family! They even have models that can cool the water to around 60 degrees! And let's face it, with Bakersfield's summer heat, that could make for one refreshing dip! This makes a swim spa or hot tub a serious competitor when considering installing a built-in pool. With it being cooler than your pool and less cost and maintenance. We had our tub installed in November of 2023 and I have to say, it's awesome! The team at Hot Tubs Plus delivered, installed it and set it up. The process was pretty easy and with the model that we decided on, maintenance is a cinch. The saltwater system that we added on is fantastic and really helps with my sensitive skin. We love our new spa and it's been an amazing addition to our outdoor living space.

The pump motor quit working So I called up looking for parts and they told me they don't sell parts but they'll sell me a new pump motor. I went to the Amazon website and purchased a 50 MF Round capacitor for $17 I removed the two screws On top of the pump motor revealing the housing for the capacitor I removed the two wires going to the capacitor, discharged it by bridging the terminals with a screwdriver and then installed my $17 Capacitor. turned the power back on and the repair was complete. They knew this. They are in the business for crying out loud.

TERRIBLE experience…read more We had about $2600 worth of repairs for which we signed a proposal. They sent us the invoice before even scheduling the service. I had to then call to request an appointment. They did not arrive the next Tuesday once the service was scheduled, then showed up a few days later with no appointment and left because no one had come to empty the pool. They came back the next night to empty and the technician complained that he had to come late on a Friday. He could not locate our water valves and said he was just going to leave. My husband located it. The next day 2 workers came to acid wash the pool but there was fairly significant ponding still left in the deep end. They were about half-way complete when it began raining. They left without warning and the equipment and materials were strung all over our yard. The ponding sat all night filled with acid and eroded the bottom of our pool surface as well as left 3 horrible long streaks throughout the length of our pool. I sent pictures and they came back on Sunday to fully drain and then complete the acid wash. We were told the "staining" from the erosion was normal and it would improve over time with "brushing" they would schedule. We were sent the bill again and realized half of the equipment was not replaced as per the proposal. They came back to replace and showed up once to "brush". We paid $2000 but complained that the "staining"/erosion was not improving. They did not show up again for over 2 months yet continued to send our unpaid balance on our invoice. After the second brushing (which they did not schedule but again just showed up to our house) we paid the balance but are left with terrible erosion of our pool surface due to the awful acid wash and service. Oversight of the crew was non-existent, and while the owner is very nice, he is obviously greatly lacking in employee training and business/management skills. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

With that being said, the building process was not pleasant. They far exceeded the agreed upon completion date. Said it would take 2 months. Ended up taking 5 months. I also had to follow up and stay on their ass every step of the way. I constantly had to go around the Foreman, who didn't return calls, communicated poorly and didn't follow through, and call the owner just to get sub contractors scheduled and progress made. First They kept blaming the city permitting department. After waiting a month after they dug the hole, I finally called the city myself and found they never submitted a permit. They owned that mistake and promised improvement. After that they would do a days worth of work, leave for 3 weeks, I would call and complain nothing was being done, they would show up do 2 days worth of work, then leave for another couple weeks etc.. I understand that we were at the mercy of subcontractors. But not even scheduling and leaving your customer high and dry is unacceptable. I had higher expectations for their customer service and logistics. Also, there was no follow up after construction. Not even Just a "Hey how's that pool doing?" Pros: Great Pool, Great work, Good Subcontractors. Cons: Poor communication, poor scheduling/logisitcs. I hope they see this as constructive and made some minor improvements since. In the end, we love our pool.

Paradise dialed it in for my family. Getting started was easy, getting down to details and concept was smooth, and the roll out was likewise lengthy but worth it. Equipment has all the bells and whistling we need to be happy all summer long. All their staff were top notch and helpful, we are very pleased with our pool!
