It's one of those times when you feel like a tourist in your own town and the cordial ambiance of the place gives a new sparkle to your relationship. Taija was our server, she was amazing!!! Friendly, helpful and attentive. She made our experience more enjoyable. Food was great. Drinks were "ok" only downside is we paid extra for the seating area thats roped off. But security kept letting people in. We were eating and people were leaning over us to take pics. Its not fair especially since it was 150 each person to sit there. Our server kept telling the people to leave and telling "security " about it. Absolutely appalling treatment from the workers here. I came here with a group after we did the rehearsal dinner at another restaurant. There were a few different reservations under different people in our group so that we could enjoy a few drinks the day before the wedding. It was not an event. Not like we were throwing the bridal shower at this place, but because the staff noticed that there was a group of us, they said we had to pay to reserve the space instead. This was a minimum of $100 pp. Obviously people need to know ahead of time if they are going to drop $100+ on drinks, so it was definitely not an options. I'm sure a decent amount of people in our group would but to expect that from everyone is irrational. It also was not like we were renting out the space because there were plenty of people still seated in the tables around us. Instead of explaining this in a rational matter the staff were yelling at the bride and groom to be. Not acting professional at all. We were there to give them our business. It made no sense that they treated us all as though we had run off and not paid our tab. We ended up all leaving and going to Time Out Market for drinks instead. If they had been nicer, we would have moved to the standing room area but with how they treated our group none of us will ever go back there again. It's a beautiful view. I really have to say this location was absolutely overrated. The service was impeccable. I will give them that. The servers and staff were incredible. That is all that I will give them. In terms of the atmosphere and the views I could have gotten the same if not better at one of the adjacent restaurants down the street or across the river on the South St., Seaport side for free. When my girlfriend made our reservation, it said that there was a $75 per person minimum which I already believed was unnecessary. Upon arrival. We were told that it was $150 per person which I believed was outrageous. I could see a meal price of this level at a steakhouse where you'll receive a substantial meal. But at a place that basically serves light bites. This was absolutely ridiculous. I don't know why I didn't just tell my friend I'm not with it, let's go. Now on top of the fact that we ended up agreeing to this ridiculous minimum the food was mediocre at best. The oysters were the tastiest thing that I ordered I guess that's why it's the only thing I remembered to take a picture of. I wish I'd just done a dozen of these instead of the sushi I ordered. The most awesome view!! And yummy cocktails! The 1 hotel is one of my favorite places back home in Miami to go for rooftop drinks and the Brooklyn one kept the same energy. Was very easy for us to get buzzed up to the rooftop floor and checked in with the hostess despite not having a reservation, but it was a Tuesday, maybe it might be more difficult on the weekends. It boasts the most incredible view of the lower east side and the rooftop is lined with comfy couches with pillows and a breezy boho modern aesthetic. The cocktail prices were on par with what you'd expect here, around $20 each, but they are so good. I got the sustainable sandia, which has a little spicy kick but is so refreshing and delicious. We also tried the chill pill, which has the most cooling cucumber flavor and balance of tastes. And i don't even love cucumber but i liked this drink. 10/10 a great place to catch a little vibe read more

Harriet's is a good spot to enjoy a couple cocktails and views of the city. I would recommend going to the bar rather than reserving a table. Table service can be quite slow, there is not a designated waitstaff (at least that was our experience), and not all seats have a city view. Luckily we got a servers attention who kindly said he would take our order. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic, however, we waited about a half hour to get our first drink. If you visit here, either get a drink at the inside bar which you can bring to roof or go to the bar area outside. The inside bar also has a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge. So I've never eaten here. This review is about the cocktails and the ambience. First, the views are spectacular! No question Harriet's delivers views, sunsets, NY rooftop sophistication. It is very casual but still manages to be upscale. The drinks on the other hand.... One one visit I ordered a Margarita. I didn't finish it. The mix tasted artificial and the tequila was lacking. The salted rum was flavorful though. My husband had an Old Fashioned on that visit and had NO complaints. He said it was one of the best he's had. My second cocktail on that visit was the Coconut Spritz because I read good things. It tasted like coconut water with a bit of blue curaçao. I just didn't get the appeal. It tasted like sweetened coconut water. Fast forward a week later- yes, the views & vibes were that spectacular, we went back. Hubby stuck with his Old Fashioneds and was happy, I had the Coconut Spritz (to give it a second chance) and unfortunately I was disappointed once again. For my second cocktail I just had a Rose' and that was fine. On both visits it appeared that Aperol Spritz were the most requested. I will likely change up once again next time. Notice--- I say next time because I will go back. Although it takes quite a while to get a drink... on both visits my bartender had to leave the bar before making my drinks in order to get additional supplies. Harriet's rooftop is a bar atop a boutique hotel, adjoined by a dip pool. It's a nifty spot with creative tasting food and decent drinks. So why 3 stars you ask? Great question! Because they have large price tags but don't have the service to match. Flagging down someone when you need them is difficult, such as when you have been waiting to pay your bill for 15 minutes. However, don't ever disrespect THEIR time, as the tables have 2 hour limits and they'll be sure to ask you to leave right at the end of the limit even if they walked past several empty tables to get to you. Were I to be morally misaligned, I would have gladly indulged them in their request to leave promptly. But instead I waited additional time for the bill to arrive and even more time for a mistake on the bill to be corrected. I truly hope that it was an honest mistake, but who really knows? read more

Hey came here tonite for the polar lounge, funny thing is it felt like 60 degrees in February so they had to cancel because the Ice furniture for the event would melt . So we get upto the roof and are met with amazing views!!!!! I mean amazing New York City views over looking the River to Manhattan and the city sky line at nite, yes almost divine! But we are told we can't get a drink because of another private event. Now this is why this spot still gets a five Star!! I go to order a drink but can't because of this new private event, so I go down stairs to complain. But I'm met by an incredibly wise manager. I explained how I felt it was wrong that I came to an event that was canceled and now Because of this private event I can't enjoy the views with a drink because I'm not part of the group. The Manager, Michelle, stepped in quick, to offer me and my wife comped drinks, escorted me right back upto the roof to the bartender, and explained we were to get 2 comped drinks and be allowed to purchase more if I chose too. Her grace and prompt service was so on point, I stayed, ordered $100 dollars worth of drinks and was determined to review this spot while here so I didn't forget. Huge shout out to Michelle and to the incredibly wise people who had the sense to hire a Manager of her caliber. And of course Michelle's whole team provided excellent service the whole time I spent with the wife, serving hors-doeuvres, with amazing service! The views have to be some of the best in the city, the service under Michelle's management made for an amazing evening with the wife. Highly recommended. The views are stunning and the hostess and manager were very helpful, but the bar was making $40 espresso martinis with Tito's, when the menu states it's made with Belvedere. To be clear I didn't mind drinking a Tito's espresso martini, so I just asked for the price to be adjusted appropriately. The bar back dismissively said "they ring up the same." After speaking with a hostess and manager (the bar was busy and I wasn't able to get their attention again on my own), they remade the drink with Belvedere. A little bit of false advertising to state a drink is made with a high end liquor and replace it with a much cheaper spirit without letting the customer know and to have the audacity to charge the same. read more

Not sure why the rooftop reservation even exists then. Skip the reservations to avoid the $150 minimum/person and just take the elevator to the 11th floor to avoid the host.
