$22 breaded chicken breast, ladies and gentlemen.
John M.

Based on the prices, we expected some impressive cuisine. Nope. Just spent $22 for a breaded, dry chicken breast and $19 for an underwhelming half rack of ribs. First and last experience here.

Home made bread! Looks small here but they are like 6 inches each side!

This place was phenomenal. The food and service were all very good. However, I was annoyed we were charged for hot water, 3 bucks for 3 cups. Mind u this is a cold winter day. Why should I be charged for hot water?! Weird. I guess refills were free yay? Lol Anyways food was great. The steak was extra tasty, nicely roasted, very juicy and flavorful. Homemade bread was slightly sweet and tasted like heaven, so soft and melts in your melt, paired perfectly w the butter which was so fresh. Escargot was huge, the garlic sauce tasted amazing w the sourdough that came w the dish. Veggies were super fresh, cooked just right, still crunchy string beans, and just right carrots which weren't over or under cooked. The seafood was great, we had the shrimp scampi which was amazingly light yet very garlicky, it was clearly done w care and flavor in mind instead of mixing things in the last minute. Mussels had amazing broth, altho very sandy! Lastly, we got the fish w lobster on top which was good, but nothing too crazy tbh. The salad dressings are all home made. I wish I could bottle them up, they were very zesty! One of the dishes came w a free dessert, was phenomenal, best fresh cheesecake I had in a long time, light and not too heavy. Even the whipped cream was home made :) Overall great place, great food, but definitely should not charge for hot water especially in winter and since we ordered a ton of food.

If you told me I'd find some of the best seafood of my life in landlocked Southern Vermont, I…read moreprobably wouldn't have believed you--but Anchor Seafood House & Grille is the real deal. This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

Very dated on the inside but I think that's supposed to be part of it's "charm". We were one of maybe four parties (all less than 3 people in each) and the server, who was a semi-nice older woman, seemed SO lost and overwhelmed for the place not being busy. Very frazzled and it took a while to get drink refills and the additional sauce we had originally ordered with our meal. The menu isn't vast, so don't go in expecting to try something new. We opted for the Vermont burger, and the Double Smash burger. They were....eh. Nothing to write home about. Being known for their fresh ingredients (according to google) I would have to disagree. Everything seemed pretty standard..frozen fries/frozen patties etc. Maybe I am wrong but that's how it had tasted.

Food was edible but not great. Server was very nice and attentive. "Out" of all diet soda (Coke company didn't deliver (possibly due to outstanding debt? Just speculation on my part but seems fishy). Menu on line is not the dated menu we were offered. Not worth the stop.

A fairly short drive brought me to this little seafood shack; it is located in what seemed to be a kind of out of the way neighborhood. From the outside it looks charming, just a nice New England hang out; inside is even better with 2 compact dining rooms decorated with a nautical theme and a metal roof. When I arrived at about 6 on a Friday night the place was almost full with a couple of larger parties enjoying themselves. The menu is great for me since it is almost exclusively fish and seafood, with a good selection of preparations; even better there was another page of specials that are a bit more upscale. Since I was hungry and just wanted to keep it simple I choose the all you can eat fish fry off the menu. Considering how busy the restaurant was my meal came out in about 10 minutes. A nice basket with 4 fish fillets, fries and coleslaw. The highlight was clearly the fish with perfectly cooked moist white fish in a great batter with just enough spices to perk the fish up. The fish was so good that I actually finished the 4 fillets and then got 2 more. The fries were very thin cut and crispy. The coleslaw is what you would expect, good but nothing special. I was very impressed with Adirondack Seafood, the fish was excellent and the sides were good. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is charming and fun. I would strongly recommend giving them a try. About the only downside is that outside of fish and seafood there are not a lot of choices; not an issue for a pescetarian like me but could be an issue for those who are serious carnivores.
