Had a nice late lunch watching the Pats at Harris. Delaney, our server, was very friendly and attentive. Ordered stuffed mushrooms, prime rib, Harris burger, and meatball grinder. The stuffed mushroom app was so good we at half of them before I remembered to take a pic! Reasonable priced and good food!

Buckle up folks...Harris Bar and Grill is back and better than ever! They are constantly looking for ways to improve and make the menu better and better. There is now a new drink menu with a great selection of whiskeys and the food menu is being improved as well. My favorites on the the menu are the the Phenix Burger, Frutti Di Mare and anything steak related. I love the specials that come out each weekend. You don't find a better Osso Buco ($26) or Veal Chop anywhere in the state. I'll never forget the prime sirloin steak special with foraged mushroom demi-glace topped with cherry peppers! The management is always looking to make every night a good night with local games on the TV, fun music, cigar dinners, or even special events with comedians or bands. The bartenders and staff treat you like family and are always welcoming.

Service here at the Harris Bar and Grill is first rate. It was a bit busy, and apparently some computer issues, and our waitress apologized each time she came to us for the wait we had. It is a bar atmosphere with large tables for bigger parties, smaller tables, and a huge bar. There is also an outside area, which was quite busy on a Friday night. It was late, and I opted to have an appetizer of the seafood stuffed mushrooms and a small Ceasar salad. My husband had the baked stuffed scrod with mash potatoes and vegetables. It was all very good. Summer sangria was also nice and light. There is a large menu with something for everyone, even a children's menu!!

Seriously underestimated this place. I now believe that it maybe the most underrated spot in RI. Great food and strong drinks for a great value.

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

The fries were great, sandwiches were also really good! Would like to come back and get one of their main dishes as they all sounded pretty good. We got the bread pudding for dessert (sorry forgot the photo) but that was really good!! Would get again.

They do have parking available which is nice since there area mostly only have street parking. Inside is pretty large and they have lots of tables and counter. It was not too busy so we were sat down right away. They did have some easter specials but i ended up getting Fried chicken sandwich and deviled eggs. Deviled egg came out quickly. It was ok looked kind of sad as seen on the picture. Rest of the food took a while for it to come out which was weird because it wasn't that busy. Maybe short staffed. Finally the food arrived. Fried chicken sandwich was honestly not that great. Looked like it was fried too long, darkened. The cut did not have a lot of meat and it was very dry. The sauce and brioche bun helped it to balance it a bit. Fries were good. Overall the food was ok at best. We decided to try their dessert. We got the easter special egg cheese cake and carrot cake. The desert was excellent. Egg cheese cake had egg and nest looking chocolate frosting which made it look in theme for easter. It had nice creamy cheese flavor with chocolate frosting and good crust at the bottom. Carrot cake was moist and delicious. Service was ok. We had a new server that seemed like was not fully trained yet with knowledge about their menu. Wait was long for the main meal. I can see that she was trying though. Overall the place was ok. Food quality seemed to be inconsistent with the menus. If anything i would come back for the desert if they have the cheese cake around again.

This is your typical soulless, corporate chain restaurant that could be in any town in the United…read moreStates. Having said that, suburban Americans are a funny bunch ... and it is also wildly popular. We went here with kids and I'd say on a Saturday night, 80% of the people here had kids. The music is played very loud ... so if your kids are misbehaving, it's not a huge deal. The music pretty much makes conversation tough but acts as a buffer for screaming children (or adults). The first thing is that the reservations system is absolutely a complete and utter shit show. They do this thing called 'call ahead' where you call the restaurant or go online and hold a spot. It's a turd of a system because it doesn't seem to work. We came in and waited almost 30 minutes and saw several others who checked in and came 10 minutes after get a table. When we asked the host, they said it was because they had 2 people in their group and we had 3 people. Yet they were all seated in the same section we eventually were at the exact same table size. Beyond that, when you walk into the restaurant there is a giant revolving door, which gives about 5 feet of clearance to the hostess stand. There were no less than 20 people waited in an area the size of a hotel elevator. And each time someone came in, there was basically nowhere to move and the door sometimes hit the people gathered in the small area to wait. I cannot imagine a planet on which this would not be some kind of fire code issue. Beyond the utter chaos and frustration of the check-in system, we were finally seated after 20 - 30 minutes. The waitress was clearly overworked. Very capable but spread too thin and a bit frazzled but helpful when she appeared. We ordered: - Smash burger. This was actually very good. At $18, it should be. 1 mile away is a Shake Shack and I'd say that Shake Shack is a slightly better burger (at 1/2 the price) but the fries at B.J's were better. - California Chicken Club. The chicken breast was grilled nicely and actually had a grilled flavour, which was good. The bacon could have been a bit crispier. Tomatoes seemed fresh. Guacamole was not fresh, likely, but better than mayonnaise. I'd order this again. - The side Wedge was pretty blah. There were literally two small bacon bits on it. The dressing probably came from an industrial-sized bucket and contained no blue cheese chunks. It may as well be ranch. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. Probably not much better than French fries as a side. - Brown Ale was pretty terrible. It tasted of alcohol and was not smooth at all. I'd probably get a national brand, if this was a good example of their house made beer. Overall, I have to admit the food was better than 99% of chain restaurants (Applebees, Chilis, TGIFriday, etc.) It was true comfort food and if your expectations are low ... and you need a place to take the kids, this won't be terrible. It's somewhere between a Chucky Cheese and a Tavern on the Square. The prices were high ... but we felt that we got what we paid for.

The Portuguese benedict was pretty good. French toast like sweet Portuguese bread as a base with linguica and soft runny egg topped with hollandaise sauce. Slightly sweet and savory and definitely one of better eggs benedict I've had in RI. Home fries were crunchy and flavorful. Coffee was solid as well. For some reason, this restaurant just hasn't been on my radar. I was craving a good woodfired pizza and there aren't too many restaurants that make me a Neapolitan style pizza. While theirs is not officially Neapolitan, it's pretty damn close. I am a fan of Margherita pizza with prosciutto and heaping ton of basil. So that's what I ordered as well as some cocktails. I've now been three times in the past month, and I've gotten to try several different drinks on their menu, but I never deviate from the pizza. The pizza is a little on the small side, I would like it to be a little bit bigger, but it is absolutely delicious. It has hit the mark every single time. The sauce has excellent flavor, it's clear they use a simple recipe with San marzano tomatoes which is a staple for Neapolitan pizza . The prosciutto is good quality, as is the mozzarella. My mom had the chicken Parm and very much enjoyed it. The service here is truly excellent. I've had three different servers and each time they were incredibly attentive, consistently checking in and making sure my water was refilled. I drink a ton of water, and a lot of times at restaurants I have to try to flag someone down or even go to the bar to get a refill and that has never happened and I doubt will in my experience here. They have a decent wine list and a great cocktail list. This is one of the few restaurants that has lavender simple syrup, which is one of my favorite things ever because I am a huge fan of lavender gin cocktails. The two purple drinks pictured are a lavender gin cocktail that I always request and it was made wonderfully each time. I've also sampled the espresso martini with half Baileys and half Frangelico and it was one of the best espresso cocktails I've had. Finally, I tried the pretty in pink, which is on their current cocktail menu. The drink itself tasted fine, it has lavender in it, which is a favorite as well as gin, but the glass that it served in is more like a whiskey on the rocks glass. It would have been better in a coupe or martini glasses, which is what I would expect one given the name, for presentation purposes, but also functionality. It has Aperol foam on top, and due to the glass and the fact that there was ice in it, the foam kind of dripped down the glass and made it very sticky and unpleasant to drink. I ended up asking for a straw which helped a lot, but I would recommend to the bar to change this to a coupe glass because it would be more functional, and the ice is not needed. The drink itself had a nice taste, and I would order it again with some adjustments. The bathrooms have always been kept clean every time I've utilized them. When you walk in, there is first a bar area which has ample seating and high tops, and then the main dining room, which is minimally decorated but classy looking. The kitchen is an open concept so you can see into it while you eat. Avvio is going to be a monthly if not weekly stop for me. Highly recommend.
