    Monday night Fried Calamari portion
    Grace P.

Visited Meritage & sat at the bar to enjoy the Monday night sangria/margarita (massive) that allows you to order 1 $4/$6 menu item. All of the options are present on the main menu, but in larger portions. We each had a margarita. For starters we chose the calamari & the chicken parmesan meatball. Yummy. I review calamari with my friends on instagram @3littlecals if you are interested, btw. For a meal my mom ordered the beet salad with grilled shrimp. I had the petit filet mignon cooked medium. Perfection. I inhaled the steak. I chose lobster-tarragon butter as well.

A friend recommended this place to us for date night. The restaurant itself is located off of Post Rd, permitting plenty of parking. It is quite nice inside with a large bar, ideal for casual dining, although customers tend to dress up a little nicer. The night started off well. Our waitress was very nice and we ordered the chicken parm meatballs, which came out right away and were tasty. However, we didn't get our entrees for at least 45 minutes afterward. There was clearly a mix-up in the kitchen and we must have been the unlucky table. We ordered the swordfish and the baked potato pizza, which tasted okay, not great. Clearly prepared and brought out in a rush for us. With this in mind, not a great experience this time around, but I'm willing to give them another shot sometime. Although we didn't get anything off the dessert menu, the s'mores ice cream pie looked enticing as well.

The place is so pretty and for the amount of people it wasn't loud at all. And o m g the sangria was huge and yummy! I would ask for the bacon wrapped scallops be more crispy, but was very good. Pizza was great and the duck was very good. But our trio was delicious! I swear the steak was filet. So tender and no fat! The service was great many servers but our main server Andrew was fabulous. Definitely a return is in our future.

Not many people expect to order a pizza in a steakhouse with illuminated wine cabinets and modern art on the walls. But that's what makes this Lord of the Pies adventure so interesting - one day you're eating a slice under a shark head in West Warwick, the next you're watching guys in sport coats drop $300 on cabernet while debating whether to get the baked potato pizza. The pie itself comes razor thin, wood-fired and proving it belongs alongside the prime ribeyes. When you hit a spot with sauce, it sings - that perfect blend of cheese, char, and tomato that reminds you why wood-fired ovens exist. But those sauce spots play hard to get. Most bites leave you hunting for it like it's a truffle pig's day job, finding mostly cheese and char instead. ProTip; This pie would 100% benefit greatly from having sauce on top rather than underneath the cheese. Sure, they've got your options for the adventurous - fig jam and arugula for the Lexus crowd, something called a baked potato pizza that feels like it wandered in from a different restaurant entirely. The menu reads like someone threw a dart at a world map, hitting Caribbean, Asian, and Italian all at once. Isaiah works these tables like he's on a mission, bringing genuine warmth and great service to a room that could've been stuffy but isn't. I admit that I didn't think I was going to like Meritage. It seemed too fancy for my taste, but in the end the Great service, quality food and a nice atmosphere made it a big win for us.

My fifth stop on a Sunday filled with pizza tasting as I endeavored to finish off the Rhode Island food fights 'Lord of the pies' challenge; this was actually my third attempt at stopping in to this restaurant since I had been deterred to previous times due to wait times. Tonight, however we got lucky showing up 30 minutes after they opened and found four seats at the bar, with multiple bartenders on staff we did not have to wait long for our drinks. We definitely went outside our respective normal orders here and we went with the baked potato pizza and the spicy sausage and broccoli. When they came up, the reviews were definitely mixed between my party, and there was a certain uniqueness to the baked potato pizza, and the sausage was definitely lacking on the spicy sausage. The pizza itself had more of a consistency like an oversized pita bread as it was very crispy , not bad, but definitely not Neapolitan or New York style pizza. Overall, these pizzas seem like a weird selection for by all appearances what is a very upscale fine dining restaurant-as I found myself watching other dishes of food come out that looked absolutely delicious. I think I am more intrigued at the prospect of coming back here and having a more traditional dinner, the setting and tone and ambience of this place was easily one of the nicest stops I've made during this pizza quest. This was my 37th stop for the month and probably the least likeliest place I imagined I would be eating a pizza.

We took a look inside as we were anxious to see the renovations and the entire restaurant was stunning. Our hostess was happy to seat us at any location on the patio and we selected our favorite table. We were then greeted by our waitstaff person, Gabriela, who was nothing but spectacular in every way throughout the night. She was so helpful and specific in describing certain entrees and was patient in taking our order and knew exactly how we desired our meal, time-wise. Our first course was the always delicious Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. My husband ordered a special entree for the evening, the Tortellini Gorgonzola which he loved. I was also very pleased with a new chicken entree added recently to the menu, Chicken Basilicata, a scallopine chicken breast pan-sautéed with sweet Italian sausage, scrumptious artichoke hearts, and mushrooms, all finished in a rich chicken demi-glace sauce. It was very satisfying and tasty. The roast potatoes and vegetables complimented the protein very well. It was a great dinner served by very friendly and capable individuals.

There are little details everywhere you look and it feels fun, warm and intentionally designed without trying too hard. It is such a great space for a gathering. The food was delicious. I tried the weekly deviled eggs, a selection of charcuterie and cheeses, and the whipped feta dip with fresh cut veggies. Everything was fresh, flavorful and perfect for grazing during a cocktail-style event. The winter cranberry spritz was basically all of my favorite flavors in one glass. So so good. Their cocktail and mocktail menu really shines and I cannot wait to go back and try more. As someone with food intolerances, I asked plenty of questions and everyone was friendly, patient and helpful with both menu guidance and cocktail suggestions. That always makes such a difference. There was even parking, which is a huge bonus. This is the perfect spot for a winter cocktail party or a fun night out. I will definitely be gathering my girls and heading back soon.
