Our Newcomers and Neighbors Club of NK held our annual fundraiser at Richard's Pub last evening. It was a huge success, benefitting the NK Food Panty and other charities. Working with Kim and Joann was a pleasure, they went above and beyond evey step of the way from planning the set up, choosing the menu and serving the delicious food and drinks. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a light dinner and sat in the dining area in the back. It's always fast service with their famous popcorn & cucumber pickles right away! We had the infamous French onion soup to start that's always amazing ! Then a grilled chicken club which is always great with steak fries & a grilled shrimp Caesar salad which never disappoints . Met some friends here for the first time. We all ordered something different. My friends who ordered the patty melt and turkey club definitely had the best meals. I had the baked scrod, there was barely any crumb topping, the fish was in pieces, way overcooked and very bland. French fries were good. I also had a salad which was okay but the blue cheese dressing was very good. Service was good, they allowed separate checks. Decor is okay, nothing over the top. read more

Hostess was no where around which is odd for the Pub so we asked the server if we could sit at the empty high top in her section. She was more the friendly, sat us quickly, and was attentive. Ordered fried scallops and steak tips over mashed. Both were very good. Always enjoy my meals at the pub. read more

Pop corn and pickles are always excellent. However the grilled tuna and cheese just is not cooked/melted enough for my taste. It is like they grilled the bread with the cheese then added tuna salad and put the parts together. Suggested that you try other dishes. read more

This is an old fashioned pub in East Greenwich. Not far from Route 4. Our server was the nicest lady and she was attentive and polite Our sandwiches were all average at best. My steak sandwich was made with a very thick cut of meat. My husband's chicken salad sandwich was bland and everything else was just average to OK. The family went out there for dinner last night. 1 burger cooked excellent, 2 baked stuffed shrimp meals with baked potatoes and butternut squash. 1 father waiting for prime rib but due to a shortage ended up with a Turkey club but I won't lie it was awesome. Went early (4:30 ) on a Friday--place was already packed. Squeezed into a bar seat...waited. 3-4 girls behind bar...finally caught ones attention...got a beer. Waited. The servers were zoned out. Their buffalo style tenders are very good and different than most buffalo tenders. The house made creamy Italian dressing can't be beat!

Usually, would not order Italian food in a pub, but entrees offered a lot of choices. Big mistake. Ordered chicken parm. Chicken tasted as if it was sitting in grease, not crisp, and "sauce/gravy" was as if a can of tomato paste was poured over it. The minute I saw the color of it, I knew. Could not eat it it was so acidic. Would not recommend . Staff was pleasant. Service was quick. Was refunded for my meal, which was appreciated. Was also offered another choice, but everyone at the table was done with their meal. read more

Kickin it off with the queer-o-meter: Doris, our waitress was top notch. And handled our table like a champ. She was attentive and genuine and so kind. The food: The table got burger plate, turkey club, grilled Cajun pork chops from the specials board and I got the baked haddock. Good solid pub food - hot and not disappointing. Fries were hot and not overly greasy, the side salads I loved. I'm a sucker for a basic side salad served cold. And the dinner rolls are perfection. A little warm and fluffy. The drinks were stroooong and generous sizes. The waters were refilled, the rolls and complimentary pickles were topped off, love that! The only con, and I take it with a grain of salt was the baked fish. It was about 5 min over baked and overdone. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on it because it was a long thin piece and I'm sure gauged slightly wrong in the oven. The side of rice pilaf was basic, but again, tasty. It's a pub. It has the feel of a pub and I stand behind my "good solid pub food" statement. We will def go again and I will try some apps instead and see how the buffalo wings are. Their menu is quite extensive and their daily specials sometimes make it hard to choose. One choice is easy...their French onion soup is second to none. Try RP. You won't be disappointed. read more

Such a pleasure to take a trip up to Rhode Island and stop at one of my favorite restaurants. When I'm RI you have to get some fresh seafood. Their scallop special was absolutely amazing. So so good. Their clams chowder was just how I like it. So well done. Fantastic pork chops and and they start you off with home Made pickles and popcorn. These guys are doing it right! read more

Let me start by saying this is the first time I've ever posted a review of a restaurant. I've never felt so compelled to before. My wife and I go out to eat quite a bit, and we've sat at a good number of bars at restaurants; usually you get much better, more attentive and friendly service. We have never been ignored the way we were ignored at the bar here recently. Richard's definitely has a reputation of catering to their regulars, just read some of the comments here. And we've seen this with our own eyes before, but never quite this bad. We probably come every 3-4 months or so, so we are definitely not regulars. We don't live in the immediate area. For the one hour and 15 minutes we were here, I observed quite a bit of what was going on around us. Lots of regulars who all got greeted quickly and warmly with a bowl of popcorn, got asked if they wanted another beverage or anything else. We had to ask for popcorn. We also got one menu, and were told "here, in case you decide to order food." We ordered our drinks and then our food, which did come pretty quickly I have to say. I will also say the bartender who took our order and brought our food was the best of the bunch; after that it completely fell apart. I sat with an empty drink glass in front of me at the edge of the bar for a good 20-25 minutes. During that time, I observed all of the five bartenders kind of walking around, talking to each other, or doing whatever. It was busy, but it wasn't crazy by any means. Each one of them walked by us several times and never acknowledged the empty glass in front of me. They also never checked on us, asked how our food was, asked if we needed anything. We were literally just forgotten about the entire time after getting our food. I have never seen this happen in a restaurant before. First rule of bartending is no empty glasses, right? What was more frustrating was watching all of the regulars around us who the bartenders knew by name, getting their drinks or second drinks without even asking for them. All I wanted was another drink. Even the glass of water that I had was near the bottom, and I never got asked if I wanted more. I decided not to try and flag someone down myself, it was an experiment at that point to see if anybody would acknowledge me. Sadly, they did not. I did flag one of them down just to get my bill to pay it and get out of there as quickly as possible. It's too bad, because we love the food at Richard's. But we will never sit at that bar again. They go out of their way to make non-regulars feel out of place and unwelcome. read more

Richard's Pub is an old school, local dominated, very busy, comfortable place to enjoy a beverage and your favorite comfort food. Service is quick and typically attentive. Food is good and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is nice, but can be a little loud, as they have a big footprint and it fills up from 5PM on. I had a chicken parm sandwich and onion rings. My friend had a veal parm sandwich as well. Well fried. Good bread. Decent sauce and cheese (could have used more sauce or maybe bring some on the side. Onion rings were fresh and tasty and had a uniquely smooth texture, but tasted good. You will enjoy the menu, the food and the service. Richard's has been a staple for many years and it provides everything you'd want an need for an enjoyable lunch or dinner. read more

Had FAKE veal parm. Pasta was ice cold. Best thing was the roll. We thought food was horrible. Server was Great.

First off Kristen was fabulous. My friend is on a special diet and wanted the French onion soup minus the croutons and cheese. We ordered drinks and our meals. For him it was snail salad. Huge! And very good. I had stuffed shrimp and steak. ( way over cooked steak, but she offered to take it back says very unusual that it wasn't cooked perfectly) clams casino came out because we ordered them as an afterthought. Nice but a bit too much crumbs. I could not believe how busy this place got by 5:00 on a Thursday night. Last but not least the grape-nut pudding was scrumptious! I have loved this place for years. Then again I am now feeling it lives on its reputation. Rather disappointed the last 3-4 dining here. Prime rib was overcooked when I asked for it rare, never mind the fact that the menu price was not what I was charged. Service also has gone downhill, as the waiter never came back to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. I guess I will need to find an alternative in my dining rotation!!! read more

This review is long overdue. I held my daughter's baby shower at Richard's Pub last fall. The entire experience was fantastic from the planning to the service and the food. The room was sunny & bright with a private back entrance for guests. It also had its own rest rooms. The room was arranged as requested when I arrived and I decorated for the "Happy Camper" shower. We were assigned one waitress that handled the drink orders, setting up and clearing the buffet, and packing up the food at the end of the day. Many guests commented on her pleasant manner. The food was delicious, and portions generous. We were able to take home the excess. The day went perfect. I did alot of shopping around for venues and I'm glad I chose Richard's Pub. read more

I have been coming here for over 20 years. I have always liked the atmosphere and love the fresh popcorn that comes to the table in the bar area. They even have old fashioned style drinks (think side cars for martini's). Definitely a lot of locals always there. The food is pretty good but nothing outstanding. The menu is extensive and covers every type of food you can think of (chicken, meat, fish, burgers, veggies, wraps, soups etc.) Not gourmet, but solid dishes. It is a good meeting spot with friends as the atmosphere allows for relaxing and chatting during your meal. The service has always been really good - whether in the bar or not. They are always friendly and professional. And they always refill my water without having to ask! I prefer it for lunch as it's between MA and South County ,so it's a bit of a drive at night. I have always had the baked haddock. I ordered it yesterday and it was terrible. Instead of one piece of fish, there were several smaller broken pieces. The fish was so overcooked that it stuck to the bottom of the casserole dish. You can usually flake a piece of fish using a fork, but these pieces were rubbery and not flaky at all. The end pieces curled up and were whitish, like freezer burn. It had zero taste. I did not complain because my friend was treating me for my birthday. I chewed down almost half but couldn't eat anymore. I love Richard's Pub in general. It won't stop me from returning but it will be awhile until I attempt the haddock. Came here for a quick bite to eat with a friend before an appointment. We shared the nachos with beef and I ordered "dinner side salad" just as menu states. which the menu said $3.95. I got the salad, it was a great salad but was charged $6.99 and it was definitely not worth $6.99. I would not have gotten it if it was $6.99. Nachos were great, big portion and worth the $16.00.
