This is a great little dog park! They have an area for little dogs and big dogs and a doggie water fountain. They have two agility sections that of course my retarded dogs won't use. They have a ton of friendly people that are coming and going and all of the little dogs are well behaved...my little rocket Peppah loves it because we have a tiny yard, she can run around and wear herself out pretty good! They also have disc golf behind the dog park, so we played a game there and the dogs loved that even more. Maybe I am too easily pleased, but when my puppies are happy then so am I. read more

One of the better dog parks in the North Austin/Pflugerville area! My long hair chihuahua and I love coming to the park to meet new people. I love the agility test obstacles and there are plenty of benches. The only thing it's missing is a dog washing station. If the dog park is closed due to rain(or Covid) usually the rest of the park is open and we just hit the trails! There's a great Facebook group of dog parents for the park that will post if there have been any observed changes to hours/openings/dog birthdays etc. read more

Great park for you and your pooches.. or maybe you just want to come here and pet some pooches? I have seen puppy parties here and more. This is a busy park on some days but yet it has room for everyone. Some small things may be a hindrance, like fountains needing more water pressure for the pups to drink, but over all it is good. Pro tip. Bring your own water and bowl so you do not have to keep going out the gate to refresh your pup. Plus, the fountain desires more pressure to fulfill their thirst. read more

It was randomly closed due to weather conditions (it was 70 degrees, sunny the last three days) saying that it was closed to avoid damage to grounds and risk for visitors. Super awesome spot to take your dog! They have two large fenced in dog parks for your pup to play. One area is for dogs less than 25 lbs. The other is for dogs greater than 25 lbs. But really, you can take your smaller dog to the big dog area if you'd like though I don't think they'd approve of bigs dogs in the small dog area. The large dog area had hills which were fun for the dogs to run up and down on. There is also a dog fountain at the entrance of the park. I was up north with a pet I'm sitting and wanted to check out a dog park in the area, and Harris Ridge was the closest with great reviews. I think it is a very well maintained park, with nice grounds. Plenty of grass, hills, and trees for shade. They do have a couple obstacles set up, but not as many as I envisioned, and I expected a bit more seating for owners. There is a water fountain for humans and dogs right outside the entrance, but no bowls fixed in the park so make sure to bring your own if you want to keep your pup hydrated while he's running around. Another plus, for small dog owners the small dog area is huge! About the same size as the large dog area so your little pups have plenty of space to run around. Overall, this is a great park and I'll definitely be coming here in the future read more

The park has been recently updated very nicely which is great. However, you need to be very careful with your pup. We've encountered a handful of aggressive dogs here so you always have to be on your toes. A lot of the times owners aren't paying attention to their dogs. We've had to leave a couple times because of rough playing and owners not correcting their pet. ***I wish they would have signs with rules and contact information to report incidents. Besides the information I provided you with the park is beautiful and has a lot of room for your pup to run. They have a little dog side 25lbs and under and a side for large dogs 25lbs and up. read more

My dog and I enjoy this park a lot, even though I moved further west, I try to make my way here for my pup. She's a smaller medium sized dog who gets scared of big dogs, so I love the optional small and big dog sections of the park. It also doesn't usually get too crowded unlike some other dog parks I've been to. :) sometimes it's randomly closed but overall love coming here read more

My dogs really enjoy coming here. I love how they have the large dog area and the small dog area. Plenty of shade and the grounds are kept up. A couple boulders and ramps for the pups. I'd say if you want to meet with people and have your dogs play with other dogs the best times are usually around 5 pm to 7 pm. Also you might want to bring a dog bowl for water, you can refill it by the park at the water fountain. Maybe some treats also ;) Side note: if it rains or ever sprinkles they close the park. I guess that's how they keep the grounds so well kept. Also you might want to bring a chair just incase there is no benches available. read more

This is a great dog park. Secure fenced area. Separate for the big boys and the smaller dogs. There is water for the dogs, but it is outside the gates, so I bring my dog's bowl and cold water with us. It's fun to watch the squirrels tease the dogs and even a bird or two will taunt the doggie into a chase. I like to watch people enjoying the park. But, I have heard that the park service closes the park often for whatever reason. I have found that to be true. You get your dog all excited to go to the park and the gate is locked. You can walk your dog on the trail but you can't take him to the dog park because it's closed. When it's open, it's a great place to take your dog. read more

We like this park but don't visit as often as we used to. We still go 2-3 times a week. Due to the popularity of it, we stay away from it during the busy times. Pros: Shaded, less muddy, a few ramps and a couple hills, lots of benches, big and small dog side as well as a leashing area outside the play yards. People are genuinely friendly for the most part. Small dog side is very nice - grass is very intact. Cons: oh boy.... -Small - lots of fights due to the dogs not having a ton of room to run and too many dogs. -In the large dog yard, owners tend to crowd near the gate and it makes it rough for dogs to enter the yard. -Because it is in a subdivision, you find many people bringing young children and don't monitor them very well. Seen and been on the receiving end of a dog who was protecting a child and started a fight. -Very closed community of people, which can be good and bad. There can be bad blood sometimes between people and it quickly becomes gossip that you have to become anti social while there to keep out of it. -The MUD will close the park at the slightest bit of rain these days because the dog park is on a flood plain. Bit annoying. All in all, I enjoy the park when it is not busy or closed. Last bit: Parents, STOP BRINGING CHILDREN WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACT PROPERLY AROUND DOGS! Sorry if it offends. But every dog at the park, is not your dog. And they don't like being chased or think a running screaming child is prey. Keep our dogs safe and leave the kids at home. read more

Thank you Yelp for showing me Harris ridge dog park! We checked it out yesterday for puppy Sunday Funday! Yes, our dog is totally spoiled and gets his own Sunday Funday all about him sometimes. There is a small dog park and a large dog park. Both are fenced in and a great size. Our dog is right on the cusp, so we checked out both sides. Despite being over or under the recommended size limit, tiny dogs were checking out the large dog park and vice versa. The owners know their dog temperaments and were exploring and everyone was very welcoming on both sides! Both sides have a ton of shade, benches, and play equipment for the dogs to climb up and over. The large dog park has rolling hills that makes fetch a lot more interesting! Most dog parks are a flat slab of grass so we were thankful for the big trees and hills. The most important thing to us about a dog park are the dog owners and the dogs that go there. All of the owners were attentive, kept an eye on their dog, monitored behavior and picked up waste! They were all pleasant and conversational. With owners like that, all of the dogs were playful, fun and well behaved. There is a water fountain for the pups, very easy parking and the park also has trails to walk your dog if you do not want to go in the off-leash gated in area. This post is mainly about the pups, BUT they also had a kid's playground and a Frisbee golf course. Very cool spot! read more

Super clean park, dog agility ramps, doggie fountain, and separated areas for large/small. Friendly dogs and owners, Penn loves this spot, and gets to run around in a safe and clean environment free of any dangers he can get himself into. The larger size has some pretty good size hills which are mostly dirt though. Great spot to take your dog on a weekend, hardly anyone goes on a weekday, just an FYI. read more

Yesterday was my 1st time going to a dog park with my new pup Ghost. The place is awesome and he loved it so much we came again. The place is clean with shade, water and 2 seperate areas for large and smaller dogs. All dogs both days were behaved and owners made sure to keep an eye out for to aggressive of play. I love taking my pooch here! Definitely my favorite dog park in North Austin. There's plenty of room for my 25lb Boston Terror... Uhh I mean terrier... to go nuts! There's also plenty of shaded areas for pet parents to hang out, which is a plus in the summer. As with most dog parks, when it's raining/ wet outside, the grounds will be pretty muddy (so prepare for a messy pup lol). The only thing I wish I knew was that the park is located in a residential area. I am forever getting lost, soooo I panicked a little driving through the neighborhood (thinking HOW AM I GOING THE WRONG WAY?! CURSE YOU GPS!). This is a beautiful facility, and my dog gets so excited when we pull in. The park itself is really clean, and there is a disc golf course, so if you happen to show up on a day that MUD has closed the dog area due to rain, there are nice paved sidewalks to go for a stroll. The parking situation is fantastic! Lots of available space, a relatively nice restroom, and watering facilities for humans and pets alike. As others have said there is an area for both small and large dogs. Our girl is 55lbs, so she spends her time in the large dog area. There are fantastic obstacles and runners all around, and huge hilly areas for our sweet puppy to expend all of her energy. There is plenty of shade, water and seating for pet parents, and it makes for a very lovely outing. While there is something to be said for atmosphere, I don't think it's fair to one star a dog park because of rude or uneducated pet parents. Nearly everyone we have encountered has been extremely welcoming and friendly, and the other dogs have been well socialized. Our dog is very timid, and she has fit right in each time we've gone. This is an excellent family friendly park, and a great place to take your pooch to be sure they'll take a nice long afternoon nap. If you go to Harris Ridge Dog Park it will become your go to pet friendly destination! read more

Elbie, a 7 year old Beagle mix, and I celebrated our one week anniversary here today. He was definitely the new kid on the block, but he had tons of fun running around and getting to know the other doggies there. All of the pet parents today were great people, and conversation flowed easily while our furbabies played. My broken foot kept me from wandering with Elbie too much, but I did take a look around the entire place at one point, and it seems great for dogs. No trash that I saw (and thank goodness I found his poop that I saw him taking as I got to that area - took about 5 minutes! hehe), and he is now all tuckered out, resting comfortably. We'll be back for sure sometime. Maybe it'll be a regular Tuesday morning gig for us since that's our Sunday (I work Wed-Sat). read more

This dog park is closed so often for the slightest reasons. I am worn out getting my dog all excited, only to have it locked up again. Today, it was closed for maintenance-on the weekend! Nobody was working there. Why lock it up on the weekend if you only do work Monday thru Friday? I have half a mind to drive out there on Monday to see if they are actually working or sitting in the shed drinking coffee and talking. read more

This is one of the better dog parks in the area. My pup loves to run up and down the hills! The only issue I have encountered is owners not paying attention to their dogs. We have come across a couple of dogs that play VERY rough or do not know when to stop. I try and help my dog, but the owner of the other dog is not paying attention (on their phone usually). This park is very well maintained and spacious. There is Frisby golf, a playground, pavilion, two dog parks(large and small), and a very large walking trail. I enjoy bringing my dogs to this dog park because I know it is clean and there are plenty of options to entertain them in different ways. Good off leash dog park. There are benches and plenty of shade. Playscape equipment if your dog likes that and two different areas to separate by your dogs size. There are no restrictions really on your dogs being spayed or neutered which I'm okay with, but it has been known to create a scuffle from time to time. Unfortunately we run into a lot of un-neutered doggies here and it keeps me from going back as much. It's not super huge but it is big enough to wear your dog out. read more

Very pleasant visit with our Boxer and GSP today. Grounds were a bit muddy but not horrible, due to sprinklers I'm sure. Plenty of trees that offer shade in the summer. What really got me and my dogs LOVED was the very different terrains. Will definitely make this park a normal visit. read more
