This park is great, it's kept clean and it's very fun. I go to the small dog park with my little one and have only had one incident with a new comer. My advice to avoid incidents is if your dog doesn't know the dog that it's being introduced to keep your dog on the leash until a proper introduction has happened. Even though your dog may be good you never know the habits of others. Talk to people and get to know them and you'll know what kind of dog parent they are by the way they speak about their dog. And please don't take your dog if they are reactive to people. read more

Came 6AM on a Saturday-- only 1 other person here. Huge, quiet, and a very clean park.

I think the park overall is spacious, even for the small dog side. I tend to walk around the field no matter where I go just in case other dogs become reactive but we had a pleasant experience. There's a small obstacle course for the pups and plenty of water troughs, but I'm not sure how to fill them with fresh water. The issue with those is that dogs tend to lay in there, and the water becomes undrinkable -- which they're dogs it's whatever but I wish there were bowls or fountains instead. You should be aware to bring water along with you since although there at least four of these types of troughs as I'm calling them, they don't appear clean or easy to refill. (Maybe next time someone can show me). Other than that it's spacious enough and I haven't been on a weekday morning yet but the weekends there are definitely dogs for your dog to play with. PS: If you've never been, Park Ln is actually closed off. So your GPS will advise you to still attempt that way but lookout for the detour signs and you'll have to enter the street and over the small bridge where it says "Do Not Enter" because technically it's a one way access. Took me awhile to figure it out but I'm also not the best at directions. read more

Decent place to take your dog too. There's separate areas for big dogs, small dogs and a middle area between both if you can't choose between the two. Warning: there are mosquitos so I highly highly recommend bringing bug spray and sprayi ng throughout your stay here. There is ample parking but lines are difficult to tell sometimes cuz of the dirt on the pavement. Please park in between the lines :) Overall nice park to take your dogs of any size to, although if your dog is super small I would highly consider staying inside the small dog enclosure to not overwhelm them. read more

We enjoyed taking our older dog to this park. The open area is great for getting some sun while your dog(s) spend time socializing and playing. Whenever we're here, we stop by to let her stretch her legs for a bit. Thankfully, we haven't had any issues with other owners or dogs and there's enough room for her to walk away if she gets uncomfortable. We haven't had a chance to take her sister here yet (mostly bc she's still a pup) but glad it's an option when staying in the area. read more

We have been going there for about six months. Both of Aussies Shepherds are well behaved and play with other dogs at doggie daycare every week day. There is a women and her son bring their two standard poodles to the park. Their biggest one has attacked my deaf Aussie twice. They just stand there and watch. Then give me dirty looks when I go to break it up. We have never ever had any issues anywhere else and we have traveled and used other parks. I've been meaning to come back to do an updated review as my experiences at the Doggie Depot have been a lot different since my first time there. We love it here! My doberman loves all the healthy social interaction and not just from the other dogs. All the people go there are regulars that love on your pup as if it were their own. A few have even learned his name! Seating is ample and the space is more than enough to handle a busy Saturday afternoon. The only drawback is that the adjacent park restrooms are often locked, so I don't suggest consuming large amounts of liquids beforehand. Other than that Doggie Depot is our new favorite place to play and make new puppy pals! P.S. Is it really fair to give a dog park poor ratings because of the patrons there? My doberman is well behaved, but even then I watch him and the other pups like a hawk to ensure his experience is pleasant every time. I've never had an issue with other owners, overly aggressive pups, or with there being an over-abundance of poo. This place is awesome and needs to be judged on it's amenities and locale versus variables that cannot be regulated. If a highly regulated dog park with people monitoring on-site is what you're looking for the Dog Depot may not be for you. read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG STAY AWAY We used to love this park, we've stopped going. The last two visits I've encountered aggressive dogs. No action is taken to keep them away. Today, my well trained ESA dog and I sat at a picnic table when a slightly smaller dog attacked him. In an effort to protect my 60lb Goldendoodle I commanded a stay, threw myself onto him and my boyfriend pulled the aggressive black shepherd mix away. I suffered extreme bites on my right hand. All the girl owner had to say was "Sorry". As I bled and held back tears I asked that for the safety of the other dogs, she leave. The other owners remained completely silent... She took her dog into another section of the park where I'm sure the incident repeated itself. I walked away with my dog who thankfully was unharmed. read more

We have 2 very active dogs so we frequent quite a few dog parks. That being said I definitely do not think it's fair to give this park a 1 star rating because of the bad dog owners who frequent it! We go to Old Stage Park, Cedar Bark Park, and the RR Dog Depot and all of them have their fair share of crummy dog owners. I LOVE this park! It's so big and nice! There's actually grass growing instead of dirt, there's a little water tower/plastic pool that all of the dogs seem to love, and it's divided into a big dog area and little dog area. Not the biggest park, but big enough for our heeler and collie mix to run as fast/as far as they like! read more

The park is perfect! They have separate sections/options for small breeds and large breeds. The areas offer great space for dogs to run and play. Oh, and it has a few benches for seating and some shade for hot Summer days. If you've never been, try it out. You won't be disappointed. I took my boston terrier here today to finally check out the dog park here in Round Rock! It's not specifically marked, but it's located in the Lake Creek Park right by the beach volleyball courts. There are 2 pens, one for dogs 40lbs and under and one for dogs 40lb and over. For some reason, the smaller dog pen was locked so I took Coco to the the big dog pen. We were the only ones there! But it was fine, Coco had fun smelling and exploring. There is ample space to run around and a small agility course. They also have a terrace area with rocking chairs for people to relax. Overall, a nice dog park with nice amenities, but my only qualm with it is that it's got some areas that dont have mulch or grass (like around the water trough) so the dogs can get muddy. I don't pay Round Rock taxes but I use their dog park, which probably means that I'm part of the 47 percent. Can't help it, my dogs like this place. The park is expansive and has 3 different gated areas. The main large area has plenty of running space as well as a couple of agility items (nothing amazing, but still fun to try to get your dog to run through the tunnel). The main area also has a "water tower" that shoots out water for those canines that like that sort of thing. Last spring, the City of RR actually closed off parts of the main area to encourage grass to grow... and it worked! I mean, the space isn't LUSH but at least it's not a dust bowl. There is plenty of parking and the dog park is part of Lake Creek park, so if you want to get out of the caged area, leash your pup up and mosey on down to the creek. read more

I have been hesitant to write a review because this experience has nothing to do with the park itself or the amenities but I still feel I need to write it to make others aware. I want to start this review with a little background on me without it being super lengthy. About 6 years ago I had a dog attacked and unfortunately didn't make it. It was not at a dog park but when I got my current dog, I have been very protective of her to the point where when we would walk by bigger dogs I would pick her up. So you can imagine I thought I would never step foot in a dog park. As for the park it's self, I think it is great! I have a Yorkie and my boyfriend has a border collie mix. We started taking our dogs here a little over a month ago and they loved it! If we even said the word "park" they would immediately run to the door ready to go. We normally go during weekday mornings when it's not super busy and have had no problems and other dog owners seem great and attentive to their dogs. The experience I am writing about we happened to go on a Sunday (Nov 4th 2018) in the afternoon and we have never seen this park so busy. This park is sectioned off small, medium and large dog, which is great! However, when we arrived there was a mix of dogs in every section. I already had this gut feeling and a little nervous with how busy it was but I ignored that because part me was getting more comfortable taking my dogs here. We saw only two dogs and their owners at the back of the medium park so decided to go there because we obviously don't have big dogs to be in the "big" section and the small dog area had a mix of sized dogs. We took maybe 10 steps in and I said out loud to my boyfriend "I think that's a Rottweiler" After I said it the two dogs (a Rottweiler and bulldog) charged us and immediately started attacking my Yorkie. I threw myself on the ground trying to grab my dog while my boyfriend was tearing the other dogs off her. While we were trying to save my dog the female owner continued to yell at us and blame us for bringing our dogs in there. Luckily, my dog survived with only a couple injuries and the several vets we have seen all told us how lucky we are. Do I regret going into the medium dog area, yes! But I also don't think it's right for aggressive dogs to be at a dog park and the owners think they can have the whole section to themselves. I just want other dog owners to be aware before taking their pet here because there is no monitoring of breeds allowed and no one making sure dogs are in correct size area. read more

My dog loved this park! We would go a couple times a week! It was close to home and a great space for her to run. Unfortunately, drainage is a problem there. If it rains the water will sit for weeks before it would dry. There would be mud everywhere! This was especially terrible during mosquito season! My husband and I finally made the decision to stop bringing her here after being eaten alive by mosquitos several times. She also got a bacteria infection from drinking the muddy water that's literally unavoidable. We drive further to go to other dog parks now, and we have had zero issues with any of the other parks in the area. If the standing water wasn't such a problem we would love to go back. read more

Word to the wise, if you see an older gentleman with a blue truck, cab cover, that comes in with two German short haired pointers and carrying a lunch bag - leave. His dogs are not spayed and he carries a taser in his bag for if dogs start mounting his dogs. He says it's to just scare them and stop it but there's no excuse for bringing a weapon into the park. He's already been run off from the Harris ridge park for pulling it out and attempting to break up a fight with it and then left when the police were called. This guy is waiting for reasons to pull it out without understanding that he could kill a dog if he used it on them. Just get out when you see him and keep your dogs safe. Sad to see such great potential for a park just come up very short and all really due to a percentage of bad patrons. There's a ridiculous amount of poop just not picked up. I know it's not unheard of to see owners watch their dogs poop and not give a thought to picking it up but it happens constantly here. I even mentioned it to an owner, response: "oh it's just diarrhea" ......o.0....shouldn't that be more reason to address it? I mean throw some grass over it at least and get your poor dog checked out! There are lots of fights, lots of owners that think it's appropriate to address their dogs anxiety by pulling them from under the tables and throwing a ball they are resource guarding into areas with other dogs... Super cute when their dog starts snapping at other dogs who try to engage in play. Do notice many owners seem just very on edge about every little thing or are oblivious to their dogs bad manners - very little middle ground types to engage with. read more

This dog park has 3 wide open spaces for dogs to play in. One for smaller dogs, and two areas for larger dogs. There was a huge concern with mud. Almost the whole park was covered in it constantly. However they just recently redid all of the grass. It's less of a problem now. But I think it will need to be done again sooner than later. It's an average park, nothing special about it. My dog loves it. He goes to socialize more than anything. We aren't too concerned about having more toys or obstacles available to our dog. The idea of that is fun, but realistically he wouldn't even give them two seconds of his time. Downfalls of this park would include the mud, and the train tracks. If you are coming from the round rock downtown area sometimes the railroad tracks will stop you. And the trains sit there forever... there is a way to go around, thankfully, however it might take you a few times to figure it out. The trains are also very loud when they fly by. It's entirely fenced in - even has two-stage entrance so that you don't run the risk of letting someone else's dog out. I've been 4 or 5 times - it is usually very active before lunch and during evenings. I've been going here for awhile, but only about 6 or so months consistently. I literally (when it isn't freezing) go 3-5x a week minimum with my cattle dog. I like the occasional new place, but this is definitely the every day park. There are sectioned off areas: One for Large dogs, one for small dogs, and one for family dogs or aggressive dogs who still need to get their energy out, but can't play nice with the other dogs. They even have 'time out' areas. They also double for the purpose listed below. When you initially go to the section you so choose walk-in, there are 2 sets of gates you go through to ensure you don't let out someone else's dog on accident. There are water troughs that the dogs will drink out of and stand in (dogs cool off through their paws, so this is acceptable) and are on set timers. If there's ever an occasion where one or both of the troughs are empty (which isn't often) you can always get water from the water tank in the large dog area. They recently extended the concrete floor and built a concrete trench so that the water doesn't flow into the dirt and make a mud puddle. There is agility equipment, but it's a bit out of shape for the most part and as of the last few months, dogs have been destroying it a little, but there's not a full course and it's not like people specifically come to participate in agility. Some of the pieces are just there for dogs who do know it, etc. There are park benches and picnic tables (although bringing food into the dog park is not a wise decision, it does make for plenty of seating) in each area. Shade is lacking, but it's not terrible unless it's the heat of the summer. The reason I love this dog park so much is because it is a little hidden, so the people who do come and know about it are typically regulars, so your dogs gain friendships the more they come. In addition, owners are typically good about handling bad situations with the dogs, and if a fight happens to break out, they will typically do something about it instead of just standing there like so many at Riverside. I will say that typically, there aren't a lot of people who go to the small dog area-- They usually just bring their dogs to the large area. I see people there, but it will get people in random spurts. Most of the time, even nervous people will bring their tiny dogs to the large area and be surprised at how they react. Most of the larger dogs won't hassle the little ones, but it depends on the day and the dogs there. Overall, this park has way too many thumbs up's from me to really have anything bad to say about this place. The only qualms I've had are regarding specific owners, and that's not a reoccurring dilemma. I absolutely love the dog depot. read more

I previously mentioned the separate areas for small and large dogs. This is good only if the people adhere to the posted rules. Yesterday, our outing was all but ruined by two owners who got in a screaming, almost physical confrontation. Owner A had a small dog, but put him in the big dog area. Owner B had a huge dog who, along with 5 or 6 other huge dogs chose to treat the small dog as if he were lunch. Duh! Small dog gets bit. Surprise surprise. Do you know nothing about dog behavior? Owner A screams at Owner B. Face-off. Owner B calls A a "BITCH". (oh, the irony.) Everybody there makes hasty retreat. It was pathetic. I have arrived some days to find 100lb dogs in the small dog area. Just because you think your giant dog is oh-so-friendly, doesn't mean I necessarily want my 12 lb dog to play with him. The signage is not clear as to the weight limits for each part. Even if the signs were more clear, it would be up to the patrons to "police" and/or cooperate with the rules. Dogs have pretty set rules when it comes to socializing. I only wish the people were as civilized. May try some other parks. read more

We have been coming to this park for the last 3 months about 3-4 times a week. My 8 month old lab really was enjoying it..... (area is mostly clean, he loves playing in the water and get along great with most the dogs, very playful and social but not dominant at all so he backs down and rolls over to the more dominant dogs, and they usually leave him alone after that. People have been mostly friendly or none social which is fine with me as well) However due to recent events I'm looking at new parks, recently a woman allowed her dog to attack mine repetitively, while insisting her dog is only playing. Her dog would run and bite down on my dogs neck and side of his face and attempt to shake him, my dog was rolling and whining and crying, not fighting back or defending himself so Since she was doing nothing to stop her dog I removed her dog from mine as quickly as I could. This was the second time her dog has attacked mine in two days, but this time my dog left with bloody broken skin behind his ears and the owner starts yelling at me when I removed her dog from mine, saying not to touch her dog and that I shouldn't bring my submissive dog to a park. As well as screaming that "I ain't gon' do nuttin" (wth?) Of course the rules state aggressive dogs are not allowed but she stayed and allowed her dog to go bite another dog. I have been at this park 3 different times when this woman had altercations with different ppl. She is not friendly and her dog needs some training to correct this behavior. It's not his fault, it's his owners. As I left several ppl were walking in who told me They had bad experiences with her dog and were waiting in the car for her to leave. Ppl like her need to be reported and removed from park to make it a better/safer place to go. read more

I have mixed reviews. Because this is the only fenced in area, I take my dog often to let him race around. The areas are large and fairly well maintained and do offer a separate section for small dogs. With that said, there are a lot of idiot dog owners. The more dogs, the worse it is. Dogs get "pack" mentality when multiple dogs exist and most dog owners have no clue how to handle it. I've witnessed aggressive dogs (and believe it or not, most are NOT pittbulls), dog fights and dogs in heat. Not to mention ... watch your step. Apparently, few people actually clean up after their dogs. Just gross. It also tends to get extremely muddy after rain. Lastly, there is zero shade. It's almost unbearable to go in the summer. Best time to go is during the weekday or early weekends when less dogs are present or when there's less heat. read more

So my dog loves the running and playing here but I am not a big fan of some of the people. If you go during the day or early on a saturday morning the crowd is great but the evening crowd on the weekdays sucks. They are the ignore a dog in a crate for 10 hrs a day and then bring them to the dog park to "make up for it" and continue to ignore their animals. I mentioned politely to an owner that her dog had pooped over by the fence and got the comment as i walked away "Who is she? The dog park police?" Really? Be an adult, I'll pick it up, I don't care i was just being helpful. So I only come during the day or early Saturday mornings. I do not join the after work crowd. Watch your step. too many owners sitting around and not watching their animals means LOTS of poop left on the ground... Sadly I also know of 4 dogs that if I see them, I immediately leave. If you cant be in charge of your dogs behavior (i.e. cant approach them when they are abusing other dogs) DONT BRING THEM TO A DOG PARK!!! Please walk around the dog park WITH your dog and don't sit at the table staring at your phone... If your dog starts to challenge and dominate other dogs, put a stop to it so that he or she knows that you are in charge and in control and they dont have to be. It makes them more comfortable and calm when they know SOMEONE is in charge. read more

My pup and I have been to the Round Rock Dog Depot a couple of times. Usually when we go, around mid-afternoon, there aren't any dogs in her size-specific area. (She's a small/medium pooch). However, on this last trip there were a few her size and it appears that she had a lot of fun! I like that the area is divided so large dogs go in one area and smaller dogs go in another. On our last trip there seemed to be a more dominant dog in the larger section, so I felt safer having her in the smaller area. The only issue I have with this particular dog park is the water trough in the small area. Don't get me wrong...I'm grateful that there's one there, however, it's difficult to add water (or, it's possible I'm doing it wrong...very possible actually). Also, some of the people I met this last go 'round said the water made their dogs sick. Fortunately, my dog didn't get sick but, that's still a scary thought. All in all, Round Rock Dog Depot is a good place to take your dog for an afternoon. read more

I love this dog park! The area is fantastic, quiet (except when the train rolls around, lol!), and very very spacious. Perfect for my shepherd mix and my cattle-dog. There is always bowls and water for the dogs here, and it is very easy to get to. Usually I prefer to go int he evenings, where it cools off in the summertime and more people crawl out of the woodwork. There are several areas for small dogs, large dogs, and even enclosures just for dogs who need a time out or a breather (a VERY good idea!). Overall, I gave it only 4 stars because there is really NO shaded areas and nowhere for puppies to swim. :( Otherwise, its fantastic! :) read more

I took my dogs here the other week and they had themselves a good time. There's plenty of space for dogs to get a good amount of exercise in and the other owners were all nice and attentive. It's a little too far north for me, so I'll only go when visiting my friends(and their dogs) in round rock, but the dogs will certainly have no complaints about coming back. It may be new, but it appears as if great measures are taken to keep it looking nice. The fence might be a little low, as my catahoula was entertaining thoughts of escape while looking at the nearby squirrels-and she certainly could have escaped if not distracted-but that would have been my fault, not the park's. The only thing I'd caution on is to bring a towel for your car. The water trough area becomes a mud pit in short order. Of course, if you're going to a dog park and you're concerned about the interior of your car, you've probably already taken this into consideration. read more
