So...what's the actual name of this place? Bottles & Cans Beer and Wine Shop or Taps and Social?…read moreJudging by the signage and the receipt, it seems to answer to both. Either way, it delivers exactly what you'd hope for--a great selection of drinks in a relaxed, social setting. After finishing dinner at Shijiri, we had a little over an hour to kill before heading home, so we wandered over here. We decided to grab seats inside rather than on the front patio. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seating whether you prefer pulling up to the bar or sinking into one of the comfortable sofas. Our tasting lineup included the refreshing Sangria Slushy, Anderson Valley's Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout, and Komana's Hefe the Hefeweizen. While enjoying our drinks, we spent some time hanging out with Aria, the Bouvier des Flandres, who was incredibly friendly and happily accepted all the attention. She definitely added to the welcoming atmosphere. Before leaving, we couldn't resist browsing the shelves and ended up taking home a build-your-own six-pack featuring beers from 3 Floyds, Edit, Middle James, Two Tides, Grimm, and Anytime Beer Co. The selection is excellent for anyone who enjoys discovering craft beers beyond the usual grocery store offerings. Whether you're looking to enjoy a drink on-site, build a mixed six-pack to take home, or simply relax with friends (or make a new four-legged one), this place checks all the boxes. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Dropped by Bottles & Cans recently and had a good experience…read more Parking was very convenient because Bottles & Cans is part of a strip mall, so no problems there. They had a pretty decent selection of beers available, and I was impressed that you could get pretty much any type of beer as a singleton (versus having to buy a 4 pack or whatever). I did feel like the refrigerated section could have been a bit larger, but they did have a few good choices in there. They had a big selection of beers available on tap, and while I didn't partake this time, I was kind of tempted by the quadrupel :) The bartender was nice and helpful throughout my visit. Overall, if you're in the area, this seems like a nice place to stop and grab a beer. I've seen slightly better selection of beers elsewhere, but I do think you could find something you like here :)

BEWARE, DON'T SHOP HERE!!! I have shopped at this location…read morefor years, and I have normally had a very pleasant experience. But lately when picking up groceries that have been ordered online......there has been a very obvious pattern developing. If an item is on sale, such as buy a certain number and get a certain number free.....the store will "conveniently" be short of one item so that you don't qualify for the sale and they charge you full price for the rest of said items. Secondly and more frustrating, we are now getting numerous EXPIRED items, or DAMAGED / OPENED items.....that they clearly could NOT sell in the store. This is NOT just happening to my groceries, but also to MANY of my neighbors in our nearby community. At first I thought nothing of it, but now after talking with many of my neighbors and it happening SEVERAL times...it's clearly a SCAM to make MORE PROFIT. I have posted this on several online forums and reported this to the Better Business Bureau providing them with dated receipts and photos of the goods in question. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves. There are plenty of nearby options other than this criminal establishment. You have now lost SEVERAL customers due to your petty schemes and scams.

My wife's a Certified Somm. (CMS) and works for an importer/supplier now so I'm alwaus trying to scope out places to take we her to (or avoid) on my visits by myself. Great Grapes is a keeper. Very Knowledgeable help (a friend here lived in Italy and was very gracious with his time too) and I manages to strike gold on 2 finds that won't break the bank but are simply those lucky price point flavor profiles you can get for $18-$25/bottle...a real steal! The shop is clean, organized, and has a nice little tasting section--the 2 bottles I walked out with were both a result of the store opening a bottle of each for me to buy a glass, so that's an above and beyond effort--not to make the sale--but since I stated I was just in to try a glass or two, it was simply to see me walk away pleased with my sampling. 5 stars!!! I'll be back with my wife this summer.

Lowes Foods is one of those. The store itself is like any other grocery store, but they always do a good job of stocking local, and regional fare that isn't available outside the area unless you spend a fortune having it shipped. Lowes chicken -- all things chicken from the deli is one of those --- as must as I like WFoods, Lowes does their chicken and chicken salad in a certain way that just puts it in the win column for me. The version with cranberries -- not in stock when I was there -- was always a go-to. Other things I didn't know I would miss until they weren't available: pimento cheese spread -- yeah -- I know -- pretty common , ordinary, and often considered low-brow, but there are rare times where something so ordinary would hit the spot. Easy to make, but not to duplicate. Maybe it's not the food so much as it is the "southernness" of Lowes and the offerings they have that aren't found elsewhere, either at the other chain stores in the area or in other parts of the country. I don't know what it is, but Lowes shouldn't be overlooked if you want a store with local roots.
