    Harris Teeter Pizza

This is a grocery store along with two or three others that I alternate. I love this Harris Teeter. I can always find what I need, and it's never really too crowded whenever I go. It is near a lot of other places too, which makes it an easy place to stop in and grab a few things if needed. There are quite a few restaurants around like Panera, Burger Bach, Happy & Hale, Jimmy John's, etc. It's also next to a Pure Barre, which is nice. They also have very good pizza! Whenever I don't feel like cooking, I can always stop in here and grab a good pizza.

I actually have a hairless teeter

I'm teetering on the brink of campaigning for a 0 star option to be available. One of my worst experiences at any grocery store ever, even though I found what I needed. The prices are average and they had a nice little place to sit down and plug in at the Starbucks, but then I had a very bad experience. One of the Sbux employees (it's part of HT) said it would be fine to hang out after closing (because HT itself is 24 hrs) which it always was in the past and other grocery store locations of HT are fine with it, but no... the security guard for this HT had this big racial meltdown, threateningly raising her voice towards me, asking me where I was from, threatening the police 0 while also not kicking out some very caucasian teens that were being loud in the other corner. Zero stars FTW.

What's not to love about this Harris Teeter, other than perhaps its parking lot. It's a little jammed into the space and the entrance isn't the same as the exit, but you get over that and move on. Brightly lit, clean, organized, well stocked, friendly associates, it's awesome. The inside is larger than other HTs I've patronized and it looked great. The associate who helped me at the pharmacy was polite and efficient and she got my prescription transferred promptly while I shopped.

Buyer beware!... Wife slipped and fell going around produce re-stocking cart. Claim investigation sided with HT even when employee was aware

Buyer Beware!!... Wife slip and fell when going around a re-stocking cart in the produce area. There was some water and produce debris next to the cart. Employee witness incident and mentioned to HT manager, Shane, that he would have cleaned up the area but he was not allowed to bring cleaning materials/tools. We opened a claim but Shane lied to the investigators and stated the area was clean and a customer dropped something.

Went there again no regular seltzer.

I am consistently baffled by Harris Teeter not being able to restock items. If you come toward the end of the day around 7 or 8 the on sale items are usually all gone. Getting a 12 pack of canned club soda or regular seltzer water is impossible most days. You basically have to follow whatever delivery truck schedule in order to get any 12 packs.

I avoid this location at all costs. Lines are so long - you will spend 20 minutes waiting to check out.

However convenient it is, I feel conflicted with this chain giant smack dab in the middle of Ninth Street...

The towing situation in this lot feels predatory, and Whole Foods appears to have little to no control over it. I parked with the full intention of shopping, briefly stepped away with my dog, and returned within about 35-40 minutes--only to find my car had been towed. Staff couldn't even tell me where my vehicle was, and the on-site security was no help and seemed unaware of what was going on. Because Whole Foods doesn't allow dogs inside, I had no choice but to remain outside while trying to figure out what happened. I was left stranded, with my wallet inside my car, and had to pay for an Uber and $230 in towing fees--meaning I had to prioritize retrieving my car instead of buying groceries. What's most frustrating is that Whole Foods positions itself as a premium, customer-focused store, yet the parking situation does not reflect that at all. There is a clear lack of coordination between the store, security, and whoever is enforcing towing in the lot. This experience was stressful, avoidable, and completely unacceptable. It felt less like customer support and more like a system that allows predatory practices to happen right outside the store. Please be mindful where you park; be sure to travel with soenone! I would never want someone else to go through this--especially someone alone in that situation.

Like a fox candle! Ha! I love seeing how they have new vegetables and produce every now and then. Back in the day before the pandemic (and maybe they still have this?), they'd have nights where there was a select menu and you could have a weeknight meal for an affordable price. Kind of like Cafeteria food. They gave you coins to pay for it, and the turn out was always so robust. It was a really nice way to get the community together and also try dishes that you probably hadn't had in a while, or even ever. I remember those events, being the talk of the town. My friends would mark on their calendars that it was a "no-cook night" and to meet them there. Fun times. I've been meaning to sign up for their owners program, that is on my to-do list. By donating a certain amount to the co-op, you become a founding member and help support the co-op. It's a sweet way to be involved and invest in the Durham community. I also love the parking situation at the co-op, you are never fighting for a place to park, and the parking spots are not razor thin. At the front of the store, there is a grassy area with picnic benches, and I find it so inviting. People are having lunch dates there, sharing snacks, and just enjoying the weather. I will say though, the co-op is one of those places that I have to remember to go to. Now that I'm writing out all that I love about it, I will continue to keep it on my mind.

And if…read morethere's anything I can't find here, I can just go next door to Whole Foods and grab it there :) After they (and many others in this shopping mall) closed briefly for flooding a few months back, they reorganized and updated this site to be better than ever! Although it's a relatively small store, they pack a lot into it, and the set-up encourages the flow of traffic to proceed in a predictable manner, which makes the shopping experience much more pleasant. They are very well-staffed, and even when its quite busy, the lines for check-out move quickly (and they have a lot of lanes). The music is at an appropriate level, too, which is always appreciated. My only complaint is that they seem to have stopping carrying the meatless meatballs, which as your local vegan is rather devastating (imo, TJs meatless meatballs are some of the best in class). I'm holding out hope it will return as they cycle goods through, however! Bonus: The employees do a yearly christmas dance? A delight. Video attached!

This is one of the few places where you can buy frozen meals and actually feel like you're eating something good. They have options from just about every cuisine you can think of, and the food always hits. Is it the healthiest? Probably not. Can you do a full grocery run here? Maybe, but you'll likely need to swing by Wegmans or Harris Teeter for fresh produce. Still, when it comes to frozen meals, snacks, and quick bites, Trader Joe's is unmatched. You can fill your freezer for weeks and spend less than $100.
