This Harris Teeter for me is more like a 3.5 star rating. But I give it the 1/2 star bump because of how close this establishment is to my workplace. I have absolutely no qualms about this place except for the top fact that the top level parking is a bit tight and you may want to be careful when entering, exiting and parking in this parking lot. They do have a lower level parking garage but the spots are pretty tight and they have big white pillars next to the spots so be careful when parking down below as well. Also if you happen to come int his Harris Teeter during lunch time and you plan on grabbing a sandwich be prepared to wait in a pretty long line. However, other than those minor things their aren't many issues I have with this store. I the staff is nice and helpful. The store clean and it is quite spacious in this store. I have never used the bathroom in this store so I'm not sure how clean their bathrooms are but I am going to go out on a limb and say they are pretty clean based on how clean and organized the store is kept (Do not hold me to that though. I do not want to see Yelp hate responses because you guys found the bathroom dirty, I have warned you all that I never used their restroom....lol) Overall this is one of my go to places for lunch. Especially when I want to make my own salad. Personally I'm satisfied with this place hopefully if you plan to go I hope you will be too. read more

Love this spot! the only thing that could make it a full 5 Stars is offering online pick-up like the HT over in Reston. But even given that, I really like the relatively smaller size that fits with the neighborhood feel of the whole area here. And for those who feel HT is pricey - it's all what you make of it. I was a loyal weekly shopper at HT, and I was always able to feed the family well. The key is to eat/buy what they're selling! Want a pork ternderloin but it's not on sale? You're going to pay! But if you wait a week or two or three, you'll be able to hit something nuts like by 2, get 3 free. I regularly saved 30% or more off my grocery bill by sticking to this. read more

It's so convenient that Harris Teeter is walking distance from our apartment. It's so nice. Especially, on the weekends when we get cravings, we can just walk a few steps and all our cravings are satisfied. So yay!! I have never heard of Harris Teeter until we moved to Virginia and honestly I love this grocery store. It is EXPENSIVE, but it's worth it. I love their free samples ;) and their salad and soup bar. When I do get a salad I stack up, I throw everything I can into my bowl-best salad ever. Really. :D I am also satisfied with their wine selection. It's pretty amazing. This is the first Teeter that I ever lived by. I still miss it from time to time - it is very clean, spacious, and never truly crowded. That being said, the parking lot outside is a bit small, and spots are hard to find at times. I usually park in the garage below; - more spaces there. Being open 24 hours is a plus as well, though this is common of most (if not all) Harris Teeters. This Teeter has a fantastic location. There are a lot of restaurants in the same plaza, and many more opened up after I left such as the pub and biryani place. For those living in the Herndon area, this is definitely a plus, for you can grab dinner and groceries here easily. I miss walking across the street to this Teeter, but I don't really miss living so far out from DC. Regardless, this is a great Teeter, and a wonderful grocery store to have in the suburbs for families and young professionals. read more

I would have given this location 4 stars had it not been for the deli department. Every time I've been here, it takes almost as long to get some freshly sliced meat and cheese as it does to walk around the rest of the store and pick up all of the other groceries on my list. The deli department is understaffed and the staff working there takes forever to greet you and slice the meat/cheese. And half the time, they can't find the meat/cheese you asked for and have to get someone else to come over and help them find it. Need to get meat/cheese from the deli department? Go somewhere else. Need any types of groceries aside from that? You're good at this location. read more

It's your average run of the mill Harris Teeter, only smaller, and with less parking. Parking on the main level is usually a giant pain in the keester, so might I suggest parking down below and taking the elevator up. It let's you out right next to the Teet entrance. Fear not dear patron, it's large enough to bring your grocery cart in upon your triumphant return to the car with your edible haul. The sandwiches from the deli are decent, and a heck of a lunch deal. You'll note the line at lunchtime, which means if your shopping list is deli heavy, go before the lunch rush. You'll thank me. They keep the place clean, it's open 24 hours, it's got 2 Redbox kiosks, and it's a Harris Teeter so you get a free cookie. The seafood section is pretty small and rather unimpressive. The staff is decent, both friendly and helpful, and you can tack on playful when it comes to a good portion of the night crew. They win for convenience more than anything else. I used to live right across from this 24/7 Harris Teeter. As someone who had lived across the street from a grocery store (non-24/7) for the last 3 years, I'm here to tell you this is a blessing and a curse. It's great that I can walk to the grocery store. It's terrible that I can walk to the grocery store and buy hoards of snacks at 3 AM when I can't sleep and shouldn't be eating. All in all though, it's a good store. Things are pricey unless they're on sale. On the plus side, HT sales are typically unbeatable... especially on staples like milk, Goldfish and Clif bars. Produce is the most expensive in the area, but it's also the only place where berries will last more than 2-3 days. And let me tell you, acquiring produce in NoVA is a hassle. Nothing lasts as long as it should and the quality is mediocre. Is the love coming to this Harris Teeter all the time when I lived in the area. They have a great deli that makes fantastic sandwiches. They're also a lot of premade meals with healthy things like care packs of cookies that you can get. Should you want to send or receive money there is also Western Union in here. There is a prescription pharmacy where you can for fill items that your doctor has given you and they are quite fast and leave and call you when you need to come in. always had a good experience here and the staff is always very friendly and the prices are always very reasonable as well. Nothing to complain about this place in fact I wish I went more often. read more

Many thousands of dollars later, I will now update this review and give the 5th star. This is the only grocery store in Herndon where you can actually get good fresh produce consistently. They also keep a good stock of fresh peppers. I shop here MULTIPLE times per day (live next door), and use them as my refrigerator. The prices are generally higher than other stores, but I am OK with this for the following reasons: -Good produce that is not hit or miss like every other grocery store in herndon -Open 24 Hours -Regular sales of random items, and when they say "2 for $x" you will find that 80% of the time this actually rings up as 50% off per item. So this means you can just by one and still get the discount. -Fresh sausage at the deli counter (though I wish they had polish!) -Very good breads made in-store. The bakery in general is very good and the bakery guy is friendly. -Good selection of wine -Good selection of organic and natural products. -Good selection of fresh whole herbs and spices -Great selection of cheeses and a very friendly cheese lady who is happy to help you with your selection or give a sample! read more

Used to be my favorite store. Even though they cost more than other grocery stores in the area (even more than mom's organic on some items) I loved that they are open 24 hours and had really above average customer service. But that opinion has changed. Their customer service went downhill in the past couple of years, ever since they decided to hire bunch of clueless young people. I visited there today, I saw a horde of young employees cluelessly standing around the register and chatting amongst themselves. Nobody offered me any assistant or greeted me. I didn't let that bother me as I was more focused in doing my weekly grocery. After 5 minutes of research I found my perfect mini-watermelon from sale. Then I happily went pick up my bags of salmon. As I strolled down on one of the aisles, I drifted off to the next aisle containing beans. I was there for 5-7 minutes selecting my perfect pair of canned beans. I saw my cart was missing, initially my first thought was someone stole my perfect watermelon. As I told the unenthusiastic and incompetent employee with curly hair of my missing cart. She then cluelessly looked left and right and informed me that some employee named Amir took it. Again absolutely reluctance to help me but she did seemed rather amused by so called Amir's action (as if it's some kind of joke). She then offered me a half-hearted sorry aka #sorrybutnotreallysorry and told me to go collect the items again as they are now went back to their designated area. moved onto her task of chatting with other fellow young employees. I'm thinking there goes my perfect watermelon which I collected from the back of the tray. Needless to say, I left and looks like I won't be going there anymore unless i absolutely have to. Too bad I live so near by, it would've be my go to spot for everything it had to offer. Advice to Harris Teeter: 1. Train your employees well on harris teeter customer service. 2. If you must take a cart thinking it's abandoned or whatnot at least look around and see if there's anyone's using it. It's not a hard task as i was near by on the next aisle. 3. If you do put back the items after taking a cart from a customer, at least offer a service to get the items back or if not get a cart for the customer. 4. Tell your employees to move and assist customers when they see one, not just chitchat amongst themselves in one place and ignore others. Really Harris Teeter, you disappoint me. read more

Their wine selection is huge. I only wish I was a better coniusuer of wines to know what bottles are good for under $10.00. I just recently became a wine fan and look to get better at picking the good ones.The deli is good.The parking is terrible with limited space out front. I absolutely LOVE this Harris Teeter for a variety of reasons. Firstly it's open 24x7 and it's very convenient for me as I live across the street. The pharmacy (and their staff) is great, the place is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff is very nice and friendly. The specials that they run are super great, they even will give you rain checks if they run out or substitute items which is great customer service. They have special times where they double coupons up to $2, which is insane for me, never having double coupons in FL. The deals are worth the trip, the rest is a bit expensive, but I usually shop sales. There is a nice little stop where you can try the weekly breads and dips, we've been introduced to many of our new favorites that way. I do enjoy that they have a bakery. This is probably the closest to Publix in terms of design and customer service, but not prices. read more

This is a review for the pharmacists. Kathleen Bishop is an amazing pharmacist. She is courteous and helpful and explains all your options. She told me how I could enroll in the Vic pharmacy program and get my medication at a slightly cheaper rate than using my insurance. Then the next time I had Eric Yi. Now he is at the other end of the spectrum - terrible customer service, terrible attitude and not knowledgeable. He had filled and billed a refill on the same prescription using my insurance, hence it was a higher rater. When I told him that I got it at a lower rate the previous month using the Vic program , he told me there was no such program! I did not remember the exact name of the program , so I told him that the previous pharmacist had told me about it, it is about $8 for a year and I get my prescription at a slightly lower rate than with using my insurance etc. He responded saying that was a program from maybe 5 years back. I told him again patiently that it was only last month that I got this. He once again denied the existence of the program. I then asked him to look at my billing etc from last time in their computer system. He looked and then had to unwillingly admit that yes it does exist. So after much consternation and time I got my refill. The next time again I unfortunately got him. This time though Kathleen had filled it already , using the Vic program so the rate was correct. However I wanted to check if I would get a lower rate if I got 3 months supply (which my doctor had written a prescription for ) instead of a month at a time and asked if he could check on this for me. He made such a face and said it would take time and probably not make a huge difference. When I persisted and asked if he could, he said it would take time and just continued with what he was doing. I was left standing wondering if he was going to do it or not. I had to then ask him ok how long will it take. He said 'let me see' and could then give me the answer in less than 2minutes! And sure enough it was cheaper. He then made a face (I am not kidding!) when I asked him to redo the refill and give me a 3 month supply instead of the 1 month. He actually had the audacity to tell me its only a few bucks less!! Is not the customer the one who makes the choice on whether they want to save those "few bucks" or not?? without having to deal with the judgement of the pharmacist?!!! I really do hope Harris Teeter educates Eric Yi about their pharmacy savings program and customer service norms!! I would like to see less of him and a lot more of Kathleen Bishop. read more

I was so excited to have a Harris Teeter close by as I've always had great experiences there. Unfortunately, I've bought several items during multiple trips that were clearly not properly refrigerated and were bad or moldy either when I opened them or within a day of purchasing, despite still being in date. I've also had packaging/seal issues on several items (HT brand, specifically). This was across multiple departments, including produce, frozen and dairy. I've taken some items in for a refund and haven't had issues, but that's a nuisance when there's something from almost every shopping trip that is inedible- no one has time or energy to go back to the store every time they buy something. Most recently, a gallon of unopened, just purchased HT bottled water completely leaked into the trunk of my car on the way home - obviously the packaging was compromised, not to mention the damage from almost a gallon of water in the trunk of my brand new vehicle (I'm glad it wasn't something worse than water - but it ruined my trunk cover and was a mess trying to dry out). The pharmacy was a no go as well. No thanks. I'm finally giving up. Very disappointed. read more

I live next door to this Harris Teeter and yes I'm a fan. I deducted a star because as much as I shop here I do encounter poor customer service from time to time. There are more friendly employees than those who are not but I come to find those who work the customer service counter usually provide the worse customer service (ironically enough) and another time I had to wait 30 mins for the pharmacist to show up, it opens at 9am and she didn't get there til 9:30 which can be frustrating when you have to be at work as well. Regardless of the few glitches in customer service, overall the store is one of the best I had a pleasure in shopping in every day. Its clean, spacious, and I honestly save so much money using my VIC card. I love the wine selection and the fact that its open 24/7. Parking I can't vouch for as I never have to drive there but from what I observe during the lunch and dinner rush it seems like parking can be a pain but theres plenty of underground parking as well. It's very nice place to shop, but the manager Tyrel seems to be very harsh to their employees. I have not seen a former employees that worked there any longer. The high rates turnover is ridiculous and the new store manager seem unfair and treated his employees so very bad I have noticed the way he interacted with them. I came to checking out at the cashier and while was waited I heard that he wants the cashier to do something I guess and while I was in the line waiting for the cashier to ring me up, but he cannot help me it because the store manager asked him to go out side and do something. I was shocked because he's the only cashier at that time. This manager must have had lot of complaints from the customers and his employees. I would not mind to shop there and I referred to my friends this place was good and great deals also convenience for us too. Just the manager that have issues with his employees that he simply cant get along with.
