    Deli/ Sandwich area...

Let me start off by saying this is a very well kept and well lit store in a very convenient location. I stopped by for my lunch break and purchased a sub, they are $5.99 on Fridays for a whole sub. You have a choice of different sub rolls and wraps to pick from as well as different meat choices and toppings,I went with a wheat whole sub with breaded chicken ( my first time trying it,I usually get the grilled chicken because it's my favorite )! I wasn't a little skeptical at first but it was a pretty good!.

Harris Teeter is my favorite grocery chain in the area -- the staff is always friendly, the stores are always clean, and they have a wide variety of boutique products that you can't get at the regular Food Lion or Kroger. This location is no exception -- it's a little convoluted to get to because of how the road splits, but once you manage that, it's easy breezy. If you are a VIC card member, you get all kinds of discounts that are totally worth it -- and for every $1 you spend each month you get a fuel point. The points add up and you can use them at HT fuel centers and partners to get a tank of discounted gas each month -- a nice perk if you manage it right. Overall, a great experience!

Awesome produce section in this Teeter. Everything looked super fresh, it was well organized and it looked to be well stocked (with only one exception - the strawberries). The rest of the store - super clean and well lit. Prices weren't terrible. I'd estimate that it's about 20% more that the Wal-Mart but you get that back in a much more pleasant shopping experience and better quality. Note - Get a VIC card. It will save you BIG bucks.

I picked up a rotesserie chicken on my way home from work to make my son chicken noodle soup because he was home sick from school. As I get home, my one year old who loves chicken starts picking it apart to eat , while I'm getting everything ready for the soup. I go to start ripping up the chicken with my daughter and realize she is eating RAW chicken!! I am beyond disgusted !!!!

Plus, if you get a VIC card, there is some money to be saved if you pay attention to the sales.

I was thrilled to see the TJ's sample station offering their graham cracker squares topped with their whipped carrot cake cream cheese! Uh, yes, please! I mean, who doesn't like a sample? Needless to say, I picked up a container of the whipped carrot cake cream cheese. Then, after moving away to continue shopping, I decided to turn right back around to grab another container! The nice young lady serving the samples smiled at me and told me she completely understood why I grabbed another container. Lol TJ's is always so clean and the staff is always so friendly at this location. I like finding new items every visit, and I picked up lots of sweet treats for the holiday. Big thanks to all the IG followers who post their Trader Joe's finds and their reviews of their favorites. My cashier, Melissa commented on the additional (3) reusable regional shopping bags I had in my cart. Hilltop had the bag for North Carolina! Yay! I've enjoyed collecting the different state bags because they're so colorful and fun! Hope to see the Washington DC one, soon!

But I've got to say it may be worth the additional distance after a few visits the past month. Let's go through some highlights as related to compare with other area Kroger's, first they are a Marketplace which means they carry more than groceries. They have a good home goods selection. Something I found unique was the amount of Carhartt merchandise. I mean a lot! They also have the third largest wine and beer selection in Virginia Beach, it's massive! They offera larger inventory in every department and seem to have items I cannot find on Republic, or Shore stores. I had an interaction with the manager regarding a specialty beer they have had in the past, but did not have. She was helpful and apologized. Overall the store is impressive. Although my update remains neutral, it been seven years. The grocery ishuge, it's organized and clean. I will likely work the Holland Kroger store in my rotation.

Plenty of parking and the parking lot is well lit at night. It is typically well kept and inside the store is clean. Bathrooms available and a Starbucks inside. The one thing that annoys me about this location is that at night they solely rely on self checkout and will only have one employee there and everything moves so slow. The line gets so backed up, it's painful so I always try to avoid coming here after 8pm. It is also hit or miss with the staff's helpfulness/friendliness. Definitely way better to shop here first thing in the morning but that's typical with most grocery stores.

The new location has only half of what I bought at Jefferson Avenue in Newport News (not the other store on Warwick blvd.) E-Mart was relocated virtually overnight and without warning to Virginia Beach from Newport News. World Market in Newport News is the new E-Mart and has only furniture, not the Asian food I was looking for. Instead, I went next door to Fresh Market and bought two bags of red, white and blue potato chips. The woman of color behind the counter knew I understood what they had done. She said something out of context with my shopping trip: "It's my turn now." As if reparations are my duty to the world and I have to hand over the American legacy on a silver platter to make things right. Oh, so that's why you keep moving things around. Okay! Don't look at me if you want 40 acres and a mule because thanks to the local radical left politicians and reverse discrimination I have neither. This is a shell game. Someone is practicing psyops.

I placed a deli catering order for my daughter's birthday party that included hot "Popcorn Chicken…read moreBites" and a "Pizza Roll-Up" platter from their kid-friendly menu. The initial pickup didn't match what was advertised: kids' tray wasn't as advertised with the smiley face presentation making it part of the kid-friendly menu and the chicken was *barely* lukewarm and packed in a thin, flimsy cardboard box (which had no chance of holding in any kind of warmth) instead of the foil catering pans shown online. With the party starting in 45 minutes, it was a stressful moment because my whole setup was planned around keeping the food warm with a buffet warmer. What turned this into a 5-star experience was the stellar customer service. When I called, the Assistant Grocery Manager, Gregory S., was calm, kind, and immediately took ownership of the situation. Rather than just offering a refund, he asked for the chance to fix it so I wouldn't have to scramble for last-minute food for the party. Within minutes he called back to confirm they could remake the order and he would personally deliver it on time. He arrived with everything *exactly* as advertised. The chicken was hot and in proper foil catering pans, so it could be put on my warmer, and the kids' tray was arranged with a fun smiley face that the children loved, and wanted to eat. He was professional, apologetic, and genuinely focused on making sure my daughter's party went smoothly. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way this manager and his store handled it was exceptional and went well above and beyond. They completely turned a stressful situation into a positive one, and because of that level of care and follow-through, I would absolutely recommend them for catering. If you have specific setup needs, it may be helpful to call ahead to confirm packaging but based on this experience I have a lot of confidence in how they take care of their customers. Thank you to Gregory and to Publix!
