I recently lost my dad and kept getting the run around from other mortuaries. Upon calling Harrison-Ross the secretary was very sympathetic and polite. Ms. Jackie Clark was amazing. She too was sympathetic and polite, in addition, she was patient with my family and that was very important during this difficult time. read more

I'm giving this location 1 star for the following reasons: 1. Poor service. Other than the black receptionist (sorry, I didn't get the name) and Anthony, the young man that drives the Harley, everyone that we came in contact with acted as if we were disturbing them or keeping them from something more important. We dealt with Jackie. Her customer service skills were not up to par. She was extremely cold. 2. They did a very poor job on my dad's makeup. They caked foundation on a man that had perfect skin. Everyone who viewed his body agreed. We also questioned why they put gloves on him. We was told that the medication the hospital administered damaged my dad's skin. I have relatives that do this type of work back on the East coast and in the South. They said that the wrong embalming fluid was used. To confirm they're accusations, we was told to look under the gloves. If plastic gloves we're underneath, the fluids burned and melted his skin. Hence, the foundation usage. 3. Poor document service. They lost the signature book and blamed it on my mom who later found the bag that they'd given her. It was full of gloves. They found the paperwork a week later. The person in charge of the funeral was also giving out handfuls of obituaries. Lastly, it took 1 1/2 months to get the death certificate. I don't know if that's the average time but we didn't receive a call or anything after being told that we can stop calling and that they'd call as soon as they receive it. This experience was not meant to be great considering the occasion however, I would think that being in this line of work, your goal would be to make a family as comfortable as possible. My experience with Harrison Ross over the period of 15 years and 3 funerals has been fantastic, not just with the Product which quite frankly every Funeral Home has the same, but with the followup and customer service. There are always sensitive issues when there is a death in the family. Chip will always make certain that all issues are resolved. In addition with the 3 funerals that I and my family have planned with Harrison Ross I have NEVER felt pressure to purchase a package that was not in my original budget as with so many other funeral homes. With each funeral the budget was different and they were always respectful of the budget. I appreciate the fact that Harrison Ross has remained steadfast in the community. read more

Back in September 2020, I made a review about the customer service of Harrison Ross. Since they didn't like it, they flagged my post almost three years later, I will repost my experience of them: Not very sympathetic people when it comes to making arrangements for family, the customer service the lady just gave my aunt and I, 2 minutes ago is baffling. She was very rude, and talked to us as if she were bothering her. I had the wild idea to use them so me and my aunt was trying to use them as a service for my grandma who had just passed, and as she was inquiring about their services, the woman rushed us, placed us on holds that ended in hanging up the phone on us, and was very dismissive of our questions when she would get her back on the phone. We were very surprised because in the past, I had family that were buried with them. We ended up burning my grandmother with Inglewood Cemetery and went through their mortuary to make the services. I hope in the future if anyone wants to use Harrison- Ross that they make things easier and they fix their customer service. read more

When families are calling a mortuary, they are grieving a loss and to have bad service during that time from people who say are there to help you make the process easier, is sad! I do not recommend this place to anyone! My family and I met with Jackie, through zoom. She explained everything to us and we were very satisfied and were going to proceed with this mortuary. However, after meeting with Jackie we could not get in contact with her again. I emailed her several times, called her and left several messages and nothing. Days later, I finally escalated to a supervisor, Karen, who assured me Jackie would be calling me on Monday. NOTHING! They do not communicate well with you, forget to send you documents they said they will send, don't return phone calls or emails, and even speaking to a Supervisor there was no progress with the complaint made. read more

Always follow your first mind. When I arrived at HRM to make cremation arrangements for my loved one, I immediately had reservations. The Latina receptionist was rude and insensitive. The African American Male wasn't any better, no professionalism what so ever. It took 30 days for the ordeal due to Covid-19 but no phone call like I was informed I would get . I had to make a few calls for status since they never called me to update and when I did pick up the urn still no professionalism . I was told I could bring the Urn back and transfer remains to a better urn they agreed they'd do it and I could pick out a keep sake to share remains with a family member and when I returned for the service again no professionalism and they didn't deliver as promised . So disgusted and embarrassed for what they call an Establishment. I don't think they deserve one star but I give it for the effort. I would not recommend HRM to anyone they can definitely take a course in Business etiquettes, professionalism , empathy , listening skills, follow up skills etc this is the Mortuary from Hell! My family has always used Harrison-Ross. They are family owned, professional and do give the proper amount of personalized, compassionate attention. My uncle preplanned his services so I had no clue what had to be done but Jackie took my hand and walked me through everything. I needed Jackie to be just like she was because I changed things a few times and she had no problem accommodating me. At such a hard time in our lives, it was such a benefit to have someone kind, compassionate, flexible and extremely knowledgeable to work with. Harrison-Ross is #1 in my book. read more

When you're dealing with the love one passing it's already difficult for the whole entire family this place made it 10 times worse we lost a love one on June 26, 2017 and we had the services on June 7 the day of the services it was so hot that everyone in attendance had to use the obituary to fan and on top of that, it was a hot day outside however there was no comfort on the inside at all.. and to top things off it took 1 month and a half to receive the death certificate, we weren't even told that that it was ready my nephew had to go up there on a wing and a pray and get it after all this time... talk about unprofessional very much! They gave us a little bit of money back but it did not compare to the embarrassment of what happened that day, I would not advise anyone to say bye to there love one this way, this is not a good place to go.. and we will be talking to the attorney general in the city of Los Angeles. read more

I made a call on 09/16/2015 just to find out their business hours. An Hispanic woman answered and did not know the business hours of a place she is working for. So I was put on hold while she finds the answer and she stated "I THINK WE CLOSE AT 8PM. This to me is very concerning not knowing the business hours. If you had to ask someone something that you should already know then there's a serious problem. Me myself I would not use this company that knows nothing. read more
