We chose Harry T's while celebrating my mom's 80th birthday before the fireworks, and unfortunately the food was the biggest disappointment of the evening. The location and atmosphere are fantastic, but the kitchen simply didn't deliver. The Fried Green Tomatoes lacked the crisp texture you'd expect from such a classic appetizer. My daughter's 8 oz. filet had virtually no seasoning and tasted surprisingly bland, especially considering the price. I ordered the Wedge Salad with fried chicken, and the chicken suffered from the exact same issue--it was nothing more than fried protein with absolutely no flavor. The biggest letdown, however, was the salad dressing. At this price point, I expect a restaurant to serve a fresh, house-made dressing. Instead, it tasted like something poured straight from a jar. A great wedge salad deserves a dressing that complements it, not one that feels like an afterthought. Harry T's certainly has the views and the location, but great scenery can't make up for under-seasoned food and shortcuts in the kitchen. There are too many excellent restaurants in Destin to settle for an average meal. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you're hoping for food that matches the price tag. read more

Tried this place for lunch while walking the boardwalk. The vibe is nice as are the staff. Also nice views when sitting outside. Me and wife shared a few plates. We got the pretzel with cheese dip the coconut shrimp with house made chips and the fried mushrooms. The star was the shrimp. Both me and wife really liked them. The pretzel was ok. They give you two which was nice and cheese sauce was ok as well. The fried mushrooms were bland. No seasoning in the batter. Tasted like a sautéed mushroom. Don't think I'd go back. read more

Harry T's was a pleasant surprise; besides the beautiful view where we saw dolphins while eating their house fries, it was finger-licking good. We chose to sit on the second floor where you order from the bartender and choose your table. I loved that their heater was strong because it was terribly cold. We opted for: - Steak and chimichurri sandwich $26 (wonderful, from the meat to especially the chimichurri, which was delicious) - Miller Brothers burger $20 (my daughter loved it; even though she was full, she couldn't stop eating). Surprised to see any bad reviews here but maybe my friends and i went at the perfect time. It was pretty late and we just wanted somewhere for our friend to watch the Knicks game. They let us move to a table right in front of the TV. We ordered oysters, gumbo, shrimp and crab cakes, and s'mores. Probably the BEST oysters ever and the gumbo was a huge redemption from another place we tried that was not great. We had a sunset dolphin cruise scheduled so we needed an early dinner close by. My husband found this place and glad he did. It was located right on the harbor, we sat on the patio and watched the boats come in and out, my grandson loved it. We started with the crab soup and the gumbo, both amazing and full flavor. My family loved Harry T's restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff was so accommodating when my toddler overheated. They got her set indoors in front of a fan and brought ice water, wet towels, even a mini pinacolada. The staff was absolutely amazing loved our visit. read more

Arrived early for dinner, they told us it would be about 30 mins for a table but they found something for us within 5 mins. It ended up being a large swinging table (for 6) in a back corner next to a very loud air conditioner. We asked the server if we can move to another table we saw open up closer to the center of the restaurant and with a water view. She had said no but then we asked the host. They gave us a hard time about a waitlist but since we had just sat, we asked if we can be moved before they seat others since this table was very bad. Visited the Harry T's after being a consistent patron many years ago. I was let down considerably. The previous location was a nicer dining area with glass windows and climate control. A place to dine while dressed for the evening and relaxing. Now it is roll up plastic windows and huge swamp cooler fans that need cleaned and making it very loud. Everything you touch is sticky from humidity. Maybe you should have kept the former location and made this one for patrons coming from the boat or beach. The only restroom is on the second floor. The food was good. Had the head on shrimp, a bowl of gumbo and a Thai salad with Amberjack. The meal was hot and flavorful. The bartender was pleasant. But didn't offer refills. I can see why Boshamps is packed everyday with showered, nice casually dressed folks. read more

There was a 5 min wait, the hostess was very nice. We got sat outside which wasn't my preference but I was hungry. The wait for the food was so bad I wanted to leave. It was my nice view that kept me glued to my seat as I watched all the boats pass by. When my food finally came about half an hour later I was pleasantly surprised. My seafood platter was so good! Harry T's is a longstanding staple in the Destin area. It sits in the Destin Harbor boardwalk, so it is a relatively touristy area. The food is decent, and the staff has always been very kind. I've never been there with a crazy crowd so it has been never had an outrageous wait for seating or food. It has a nice view of the harbor, and you can see boats coming in and out. You can also see Destin bridge and Crab Island in the distance. The food is overpriced for the quality, but this is a feature of being in the boardwalk. If you are already in the area it isn't a bad choice, but I would not go out of my way and put up with the hassle of the location just to eat here. read more

We stopped in at Harry T's on our first night in Destin we were pretty exhausted just wanting to get some yummy food and it satisfied our needs. We ordered the ribeye and had it with garlic mashers and coconut rice. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned and probably one of the best ribeyes I have ever had however the sides were a bit disappointing. The garlic mashers felt a bit bland and the coconut rice had too many coconut chunks in it but overall it was a good meal and the amazing steak made it worth it. Drinks were delicious, I just hated that we couldn't change anything in the dip trio because my husband is allergic to shrimp and there is a shrimp and crab dip. We also had sweet tea, we thought being at a place like this it'd be good but it tasted like regular old iced tea. I told our waiter I had a gluten allergy and asked if the gumbo had gluten. She said no. I didn't have the cornbread because of it. I thought I was fine. But my daughter has been puking all night because of it. We were seated immediately on a moderately busy Friday night at 6 PM. The views of the sunset over the water were lovely! The oysters were fresh, the beer selection grand, the AAA tuna with possibly the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had delicious.
