We make it a point to dine here at least once during our three-month winter stay, and today was the perfect day to enjoy a late lunch before the spring breakers start arriving. The weather was a beautiful 70 degrees, and we were lucky enough to get a table with a great view of the beach and sunshine. We ordered the fish tacos and the grouper bites. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was piping hot. The fish tacos had a generous piece of fish on each taco, grilled perfectly. My friend ordered the grouper bites and OMG -- they were lightly battered, cooked just right, and you get so many! Definitely a must-have. Now for the service. Our waitress started off strong by promptly taking our order, but unfortunately it went downhill from there. Once we received our food, she never stopped back to check on us or offer drink refills. There was only one bartender and the place was packed. He appeared overwhelmed, especially with beachgoers walking up to the bar while also trying to keep up with drink orders from the waitstaff. It didn't seem like the servers had assigned sections, as tables appeared to be seated in rotation. Toward the end of our meal, we noticed not only ourselves but other diners trying to get their waitress's attention, which was difficult. Overall, I'd give the food 5 stars and the service 2 stars. I understand it's a beach atmosphere, but with spring break starting, the service really needs to step up its game. read more

We rolled in 11 deep, ranging in age from 10 months to 75 years, and somehow everyone left happy, fed, and not arguing -- a miracle in itself. Let's start with the setting: live music, sand in your flip-flops, and a sunset that makes you question why you ever vacation anywhere else. It's casual in the "we're at the beach, let's not overthink this" way -- and it works. Now, the food. I had the fried shrimp: crispy, golden, and clearly made by someone who understands that shrimp deserves respect. The portions were generous enough to make me wonder if I accidentally ordered two meals. (I did not, but I could've and wouldn't have regretted it.) Others in the group went for fish tacos and various seafood-adjacent plates. I didn't take notes because I was busy with my own crustacean situation, but I can confirm every plate was met with approving nods and suspiciously fast disappearing food. Hush puppies? Fine. Just fine. Not the star of the show, but they showed up and did their job. Service was top-notch -- efficient, friendly, and completely unfazed by the logistical chaos of serving a table that spanned four generations. Overall, The Beach House is exactly what you want from a beachfront restaurant: tasty food, laid-back atmosphere, and the kind of place where you're tempted to linger long after the check arrives. The place was really nice. It had bar seating, regular tables and an area the fence to sit and eat. I had the Fried Gulf shrimp with fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. The whole plate was so good. I usually don't like hush puppies but there's were really good. I also had the Pina Colda which was good also. The service was really good as well, checked up on me a good amount of times and was really nice. The only thing about the area was there were a lot of tiny bugs that were jumping on me. But that was probably cause I was sitting near the outside part by the plants. Otherwise this place was great! read more

Went for my buddies bachelor trip today and there were only 5 of us. They put a tip on the check even though is says for party's of 6 or more. The server threw a fit because we asked to separate the checks and walked off and rolled her eyes at us. Would not recommend. Will never be back. read more

We had a late dinner after checking in next door at the Hilton. The food was awesome! We shared a shrimp basket, Ruben sandwich and the shrimp pasta. Huge portions and fresh yummy food with a gorgeous ocean view! We will be back. read more

Tbh I wasn't expecting it to be this bad but I surely taken by surprise. I walked in as a party of one and after being seated, I sat for over 15 minutes without a waiter. I had to ask one of the workers where my waiter was and they said "I don't know I'll check" only to come back and become my waiter. I ordered a basic grilled cheese and fries and had to wait 25 minutes before I got it and when it came out and the cheese wasn't melted and the bread looked like it had been placed in an air fryer. I had to get them remake it and after another 15 minute wait I finally got my food. I will say the staff was nice but it just felt like they were understaffed and unprepared. I mean this place is seriously amazing, the food has gotten so delicious! They added smoked brisket to the menu in addition to ribs and smoked chicken. They also added really good calamari too. For the prices the portion sizing is well worth it, and you can expect live music and a gorgeous sunset. read more

I'm not sure how you a mess up chips and dips- but it happened Stale tortilla chips, and subpar tasteless dips. Oh, and dried out, over-cooked chicken tenders. Thank goodness the musician was really good and the oceans views and proximity to the beach were awesome If this place improves their food quality and preparation, it will greatly improve the overall dining rating. I'd eliminate some things from the menu and focus on what your cooking staff can prepare well. Higher quality and fresh ingredients are non-negotiable. I'd expect more from this place since it's on property at the Sandestin Golf & Tennis Resort. read more

The location of this restaurant is amazing. Right on the beach, next to the Hilton in Sandestin. Unfortunately that is the only positive thing we experienced on our visit. We had a party of four. Three of us received our food, one person didn't. The waitress never came over to check on us until we asked another waitress to track down her down. It was at least 15-20 minutes so the entire party was done with their food before we could even ask what happened. We asked for the missing food to be taken off the bill and we left. Never received an apology or anything for the missing food. And the food that did arrive was mid at best. It's clear this restaurant is getting their business from their location and the bar because it's not due to good food or service. read more

It's in a gated hotel community. The QR code parking asked for $21 half day! We were o ly going to be there an hour so we didn't sing up with the QR code. Entry door was hard to find we walked around the building on outdoor decks. Service was slow. Salad was huge & very good with the peppered blue cheese dressing. Views of the water are great, but we had to sit indoors due to the cold. After we left we noticed an additional charge of $15, I guess it was for parking. We be going back read more

Very disappointing trip to the Beach House today. Great music and view. The staffing situation is AWFUL. They have a bunch of people standing around doing nothing. We ordered the grouper basket . It came out cold then the waitress said she'd be back bc we wanted to order additional food. She never returned. I went to the bar to ask for my check. Big mistake. The bar tender snapped. After 15 minutes I was able to find a manager to ask for the check. Really pathetic. They must be under new management. it was not that way before. Came here while visiting the area of Memorial Day weekend. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the beach. I followed our waitresses recommendation and ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and I'm glad I did. It was seasoned to perfection. Our waitress was Erika and she was amazing! She made sure to check in on us but not excessively. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. read more

This was an awful experience at a beautiful beach. We live in the area now and thought this might be a place to take out of town guests. We will not return. The sign said to seat ourselves. After about 5 minutes, I had to ask for menus. We ordered a few minutes later just two drinks and an appetizer. The coke arrived with a water but no margarita. Appetizer which was nachos arrived and they were ok. Chips were greasy, but queso, guac and pico were good. I inquired about my margarita. Five more minutes someone said it would come but the bar was backed up. We were done with the appetizer and my boyfriend with his coke when my drink arrived which was a beach a Rita not a margarita. It's made slightly different and was tasty. Overall very bad service. A manager named Bill came to apologize and said he would make a billing adjustment. When the bill came, the only thing that came swiftly, it was reduced by $2.80 for our poor experience. This could be a wonderful spot if the hotel put some money into training staff. read more

Do not order takeout unless you are willing to give 18% gratuity. They automatically add 18% gratuity for to go orders, so they charged me am extra $24 for takeout. Absolutely ridiculous. The food is just ok and certainly not worth the extra charge. The phone number on their website doesn't work either, so I was unable to order ahead via phone. Not a bad stop if you are walking up from the beach for outdoor seating. Otherwise, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Pretty cool spot with great views and great drinks, like many businesses lately they have actively started charging fees (S/C: Connivence fee looks to be about 2.5%), the area has also started charging for parking...if you are in san Destin and want to see the beach and grab a quick bite it's a good spot, but you can get similar food much more affordable at other places near by. read more

This place is a hole in the wall a little off of hwy 98 by the harbor. It has really good food such as the barbecue shrimp and other dishes. They offer live music at times and it is just a fun environment with good eats read more

Live music, good vibes, good food on the beach...can't get much better! My mom, sister, and I came here while in Sandestin. It was right next to our hotel, so it was super convenient. We were drawn in by the live music - which seemed to be going all day! When we got there, it was happy hour, so we got a really big glass of wine for like $5 - can't complain. For food, we split the BBQ nachos - it was HUGE and plenty of food for all of us to enjoy. Definitely a good spot to enjoy a sunset and a meal in Sandestin! read more

This is my favorite place to eat at Gulf Shores! We come here every time we are down at the beach. I have not had a bad meal or service at The Beach House. The blackened Gulf Fish is always delicious as are the fish tacos. The blackened Gulf beans are the best I have ever had! I can't recommend this place enough. read more

It's right on the beach and walking distance from both Luau locations, and the Hilton. Easy to get a seat and the wait staff is really nice. The food portions are large and well worth the money. My wife had the nachos with chicken, which was more like a plate for 3. I had an angus burger with bacon and fries, which was a lot of meat and plenty of fries which were fried hard just like I like them. My burger was cooked well done just like I like as well. The cocktails are amazing here! The location cannot be beat, as it's right by the main access to the beach here. We had two meals here last weekend to enjoy the view and the sound of the ocean waves. The buffalo chicken nachos are the best! The blackened fish tacos with the side of rice and black beans were my favorite thing that I ate this weekend. Prices here were more affordable compared to the places that we ate at in the Baytown wharf Village, with a big portion size. The berry cocktail and the pina colada cocktail drinks were so refreshing. I also tried the smoked fish dip which didn't have much smoked flavor but tasted fine, like tuna dip. We paid over $100 for lunch here w our family. There an hour and live music never started....... FYI. A specific waitress was VERY rude to us, and I told the manager but he did NOTHING ABOUT IT. Left my flip flops at the beach and she screamed "you can't come in here without shoes!" As soon as I was looking for restroom. Food was mediocre. Overpriced, mediocre, and not that good.
