House salad (side) 10/10 Great portion. Lettuce was 9/10 fresh, just 1-2 pieces were starting to brown. Got honey mustard on it, also yummy. Stuffed shrimp Parmesan 9/10 This was really good! Shrimp was butterflied, then cooked perfectly. Atop the shrimp was a lump crap mixture, almost like the filling for a crab cake, but not quite. The sauce was good, I do wish there was a small bit more though. Also the onions were not sautéed fully so they were slightly hard and still had that bitter raw onion taste to them. Boiled shrimp 7/10 Not bad, they would be a lot better if they served them hot, not chilled. They're also pre-peeled so all the seasoning and flavor that you would usually get from the shell just wasn't there. Bacon wrapped scallops 7/10 They were a little bit small. The scallops did not really taste fresh, they tasted frozen. The sauce was really good. Kind of a mustard-y and sweet. We stopped into Capt Dave's on the Gulf while we were in Destin and had such a great experience, even just spending time at the bar. We didn't end up ordering food this visit, but everything else about our time there really stood out in the best way. The service was amazing from the start. We had a larger group, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, helping us move and merge tables together in the bar area so we could all sit comfortably. It made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable instead of stressful trying to coordinate seating. The ambiance was definitely a highlight. We were there right around sunset and were able to step out onto the patio to watch it, which was absolutely beautiful. Between the view, the relaxed atmosphere, and how friendly and welcoming the staff was, it felt like such a perfect spot to unwind. We would definitely come back again and would love to try the food next time. read more

The food is nasty Dennys quality and WAY WAY WAY overpriced. Seafood Gumbo was disgusting with no crab, tiny bay shrimp and an off-putting aroma. The calamari was under cooked, raw and rubbery. Served with marinara instead of cocktail sauce. Serve was nice but not having fresh fish or crab on the coast should be illegal. read more

The food here was amazing. I tried the stuffed shrimp with crab meat and Parmesan. I tried others food as well from the group I came with and their food did not disappoint either. If I could go back again I would today. The issue is that I'm 8 hours away but debating on that drive still. . The service was amazing! The waiter and/or Staff catered to our every need and even offered to take a group picture of our party of 11. They even turned the fan off for us when we felt it a bit breezy. Oh my god it was so good. I got the crab legs and even when I took them home I couldn't stop eating them lol. The hush puppies are soooo delicious. My family and I had a wonderful dinner at Capt. Dave's. The atmosphere is perfect after a long day at the beach. We enjoyed some outstanding fried Gulf shrimp. Our server Mark was top tier. He was polite and warm. We never ran out of beverages and he was there if anyone needed anything. He was 5 star. The wait was 25-30 minutes so about average of what you would expect for your food on a busy evening. The prices on seafood are up this year, but even so My wife, 3 kids, and m myself ate for under a hundred $. I'll be back to Capt. Dave's. read more

We returned this May after eating here for the first time last year. Great view of the gulf and a lively atmosphere, but having a conversation was no problem. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They make a fine Old Fashioned and my wife enjoyed the house Pinot Grigio. We both had the gumbo - deep and warm with lots of different flavors to savor. We had two different versions of snapper: the grilled was simple and delicious; the Snapper Jane had delicious additions of a cream sauce with crabmeat and shrimp. No room for dessert, maybe next time. We also came for cocktails off the beach one day. Very easy to walk into the bar from the side entrance in our beachwear and get drinks to take outside to sit in the sun! read more

This was the first restaurant we ate at in Destin so I'm not sure how prices compare but think they could improve ambiance for prices. I did really enjoy the twice baked potato and think it's worth upgrading. The Parmesan Mahi Mahi was good but rich and it was a large portion. My girls loved the kids shrimp. Wow. Absolutely incredible. We can start with the service. Our server was quick and eager. Definitely made it a great experience. Now the food was incredible! Oh man. I am a FAN of hush puppies and those were incredible. We got some fish dish I sadly can't remember the name and that fish just melted in your mouth like butter. Honestly. Last night some of my friends took me to Captain Daves for dinner. They described it as one of the last great Destin seafood restaurants. We were lucky enough to be seated near windows to view the beautiful sunset and emerald green waters of the Gulf Of America. The ambiance was perfect.The menu was full of delicious seafood choices, but I settled on a parmesan mahi-mahi dish. Let me tell you, this was one of the finest mouth-watering dishes I have ever eaten in Destin. Ozempic could not stop me from eating every delicious piece. The gumbo was as good as it gets! One thing is for certain, I will never drive by this restaurant ever again without stopping, and well worth busting my Ozempic diet! I would not recommend ordering a drink here, I had a strawberry daiquiri and there was no alcohol in it, I also sampled my husband and sons virgin drinks and they tasted the same. So I spent $14 on a smoothie. The mahi mahi was dry looking, our son didn't eat it. The salads were nice, as was the coleslaw. The star was the dessert of chocolate cake/mousse. The Cajun redfish was okay, I didn't like the peppers that were raw in it. Hush puppies were great, the bacon wrapped scallops were a table favorite. Delicious meal with amazing views of the ocean. We waited about 20ish minutes for a table of 4; not bad plus young kids were occupied with the big fish tank! Staff was super friendly especially Robin our server who's been there for 40 years! Hushpuppies were delicious. I had the coconut shrimp which was a little too sweet for my liking but the crab cake was out of this world. I was able to order just 1 vs the full entree. It was nice going to a place where a salad or Cole slaw comes with the meal along with one side. The food was very tasty. We had the snapper Jane which was really good it was topped with crab meat and shrimp. Also had the stuffed shrimp Parmesan never had a combo like it my wife thought it was the best. I was truly shocked by how rude and unprofessional the bartender, Steve, was during my visit. I came in while on vacation, ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer. The appetizer came from the kitchen -- all he had to do was pour the wine and hand me the plate. I paid my bill and left a tip I felt was appropriate for the level of service. I then went to the restroom, only to come out and find Steve waiting for me, confronting me in front of others and interrupting a business call I was on -- to tell me that I didn't leave a big enough tip. I was absolutely appalled. The audacity and lack of professionalism from someone in the hospitality industry, especially someone who should understand customer respect, was unbelievable. I am not some young kid -- I am a mature adult who treats servers with kindness and respect, but I will not be bullied into tipping beyond what is deserved. For Steve to confront me about my tip -- especially while I was on a call -- was beyond rude. Regardless of his age or experience (and frankly, I'd expect better from someone his age), this behavior was completely unacceptable. I hope management takes note, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others: no guest should ever be made to feel uncomfortable or pressured for leaving what they feel is a fair tip. read more

We went here hoping for a little nicer dinner. The staff were very friendly and our waiter was good. We had a few drinks while we waited for a table. No one was impressed by any of the drinks. The margarita was the worst. Tasted like tequila and sea water. The rest were just ok. Beer is a safe bet. Food: nothing special. Most of our table ordered steaks and they came cooked as ordered. Two of us got the stuffed fish dishes which were underwhelming, stuffing tasted like a frozen product. First of all, the views of the water are spectacular. You are right on the ocean. I had the flounder and crab, and the flounder was melt in your mouth delicious. Was on a family vacation with my family. We decided to come here, there was 12 of us. They "close" at 9; however, they still seat ppl up until 9pm, which was nice to know. We had a long wait but it was well worth it. I dont remember the name of our waitress but she was very nice. It's a local spot, you park across the street. Everyone we encountered was very nice. Everyone enjoyed their food, everything was good minus the vegetable of the day, lima beans. They weren't bad they just didnt look appetizing, a bit dry.
