I have been taking my cars to Harry's for over 5 years now. Prices are reasonable and work is usually completed sooner than expected.

First, I never write reviews. I look at them all the time, but rarely take the time to write one…read moremyself...I felt it was needed to offset some of the reviews I've read here... I recently relocated to Williamsburg and in the midst of packing up and selling my home, I lost sight of my car inspection. It was already over due. I called American Pride and they were able to get me in the same day and even helped me get back and forth to my hotel from drop off to pick up. I am a widow and often get hit up for 'added repairs and services'...(I think being a woman dealing with car things, makes me a target). Given some of the other reviews here, I was a little worried that would be the case. They couldn't have been more kind, were courteous and no added 'recommended services or repairs' were pushed onto me. Just a passed state inspection and ready to go. Thank you American Pride. I wanted others to know, that I DID have good experience and didn't get the usual hit up for add ons.

APA was using this time to find things is what we suspect. Our SRX passed inspection--none of the items suggested where related to the passing of inspection! For an auto that is driven less than 250 miles in a year, we just couldn't believe these pages of repairs. None of these were mentioned in the previous yearly inspection! We were probably considered old and not knowledgeable on auto issues; plus having a Cadi SRX had money to spend! We lived in the area over 20 years being retired contract mail carriers. We wanted to support a local shop. We certainly will not use this business again. I strongly suggest if you aren't mechanically savvy don't use APA. Best regards, Charlie & Son

I also had problems starting it and had to hold the lever forward in park for the ignition to fire. I went to AAA Automotive Repair to have both problems taken care of. They kept it over night. I was called the next day and said the car was ready. When I went to pick it up the transmission was still leaking, The Service Writer said it needed major work to correct the problems, but they did adjust the linkage to keep the shifter in parking to allow starting. That I appreciated. As for the transmission, he said it needed to be disassembled and all seals replaced. The price was above my head, so I declined. They charged me $79.00 to check it for leakage and $120 to adjust the linkage. I do believe that was a little steep just to raise the car and inspect for leaks. I also believe the adjustment fee was also high. I do not know what Shop Labor was, but I should have inquired before I aloud the work. I have to eat the cost. I will not be returning in the future. I don't to like to give unfavorable reviews, but I belive Yelp wants honesty and I call it as I see it.

Told em to put rejection sticker on it as they were not going to rip me off. Basically as photo shows just needed to put end into bracket and screw a new bolt on. Not sure how they came up with $240. They also said it passes now but sway bar bushings would need to be replaced and quoted $400 something bucks. Bushings are not expensive and doesn't take long to replace those. Place is sketchy with mechanics looking for work to make money for the business, but if you want to blow money and over pay then this is your place.
