Three of us went to Harry's Steakhouse in West Fargo for a celebration dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were excited to try it given the reputation and what we had heard about it , but unfortunately the experience didn't live up to expectations. To start with the positives, the escargot appetizer was terrific, and the shrimp scampi was very good. Those were definitely the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The service was inconsistent throughout the evening. There were at least three different times when our table had no drinks at all, including water, which shouldn't happen at a restaurant at this price level--especially on a night when they weren't particularly busy. When our entrées arrived, both steaks were cold, and the red potatoes were pretty underwhelming. The crème brûlée dessert was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. Including tip, the bill came to over $400 for three people, which made the lack of quality and service even more frustrating. At the end of the meal when we were asked how everything was, I politely mentioned that the food wasn't great and that the steaks had come out cold. The response from the hostess/manager was "Well, we're not for everybody." That was a surprising response and didn't feel very customer-focused. We went in wanting to like the place and hoping for a great celebration dinner, but overall it ended up being a very disappointing experience for the price point. We will give it a try again. My partner and I made a reservation in March for our anniversary. We ordered filet mignon, couple sides, couple drinks. The food was alright for Fargo I guess. We ordered medium, but mine came out rare/med rare. Server never checked on us, she spent quite some time at the table next to us & talking with the bartender though. Had to flag down the bartender as they forgot to bring our Chimi and server was no where in sight. Runners just kinda tossed the food at us without a word. I wanted to get on yelp and review the new steakhouse in Fargo, ND which is also located in Grand Forks Harry's steakhouse. My husband made a reservation before we walked in. We were seated within five minutes. we started with a shrimp cocktail and decided to share a porterhouse steak for two. The service was beautiful. Our waitress was very attentive on a Sunday evening, they were pretty busy. The steak was delicious. juicy and tender. The shrimp was nice and cold and the cocktail sauce was delicious. It was a nice store before having a big meal. The cream spinach was delicious as well and we had the creamed corn, which was a good combination with the steak, really enjoyed our dinner. The the one concern that I did have is when you go into a restaurant of that caliber, the attire, professionalism of even employees let alone the patrons it's unpleasant to see people walking in in pajama pants and spaghetti tank tops that's unprofessional wearing Doc Martens with the dress and fishnet tights doesn't do it for anyone please be more professional as a staff and perhaps there should be a assigned by the door that lets the patrons know what is required for the appropriate attire. read more

We have been here twice now and both times were great. I read some of the other reviews and feel fortunate that our experience was positive. It is pricey, so I do expect exceptional food and service. We spent close to $400 each time. We love the martinis. We split the wedge salad and hash browns. Both are delicious. The hash browns are huge, we took half of them home to our son who was so happy and devoured them quickly. We split the tomahawk steak the first time and both ordered filet the 2nd time. Had very high hopes for Harry's given its reputation. The food quality was marginal, ordered a filet which was very ordinary...burgers were good, but fries were cold. Had to make a special request for the bread prior to our meal, which was not well received by our server. Between her attitude and lack of personality, we felt as though we were greatly inconveniencing her. Service alone would be rated a ZERO. The woman tasked with delivering our entrees should not interact with the general public, clearly has a form of agoraphobia... Given their prices, Harry's needs to significantly upgrade the food quality and service or they will face the same fate as the other restaurants that have occupied this space before. read more

We came here for my birthday. Warm and comfortable atmosphere. Upscale feeling. The service we had was really good and attentive (Alfred) and boxed up our extras. One meal was slightly delayed but not our servers fault. Steak, salmon, scallops all dynamite and perfect. Highly recommend the salmon, sauce was light and refreshing. Sides are generous. read more

Trying Harry's for the first time and it didn't disappoint. I had the 6 oz fillet and he had the 6oz bison with the Au poivre sauce. We ordered sides to share, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and twice baked potatoes. Finished with the key lime cheesecake. Everything was delicious! Very large servings of the sides, too much for two people, but we brought some home. If I could make two suggestions, it would be to grind the peppercorns in the au poivre sauce, and to have your servers taste everything on the menu so they can better describe it when I asked about it. I cannot stress enough what a fantastic restaurant Harry's is for a celebratory dinner! While we've been to Harry's in Grand Forks, the Fargo experience is just as intimate and upscale. Every item from start to finish (crab cakes, filet mignon, rib eye, creamed spinach, mushrooms, and Harry's hash browns, of course) was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. The martinis did not disappoint and the personable service from Kendra was exceptional. It was nice to dine at an establishment with an upscale ambience, delicious food, memorable service, and fellow patrons who dress for an evening out on the town. Keep up the A+ work! read more

The small cut of the prime rib was huge!!!!!!!!!!!! It also was the most delicious and tender prime rib I have ever ordered. I could even cut it with my fork even though she gave me a steak knife. My husband ordered the filet of bison and loved it!!!!!!!!! There are also seafood options on their menu. There are a lot of shareables in the menu. We ordered yummy twice baked potatoes and asparagus. All of the shareables were also huge portions!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We also shared a large serving of French onion soup which was very delectable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ambiance reminded me of an old timey steakhouse with very comfortable chairs and booths. I have eaten at the location in Grand Forks several times and have loved it. The Fargo store is not even close to the experience. My steak was over cooked the scallops were cold and my wife's pasta had no flavor at all. The staff was average at best. They are still in training or just are not aware of the customers needs. 2.5 stars at best. I hope they get their act together Fargo needs another place like this. read more
