Last meal in Fargo until next time! Lately, hotels I've booked have been crushing it at their in-house restaurants. I wish I stayed long enough to enjoy the actual steak at 84 Italian Steakhouse, but instead I only got to try their Salmon Smoked Bagel with soooo many accoutrements... sweet-pickled onions, capers, fresh greens, and whipped dill cream cheese. So filling. Love that this restaurant is open so early in the morning. Service is friendly and classy. While there were more than enough toppings on this bagel, the balsamic drizzle got undesirably sticky. It was overall more of a sweet than savory dish. Thought about getting a side of French Toast but decided it'd be too much. Definitely staying at the Radisson Blu again in the future! read more

When it is -22F outside, you find out your hotel has a fantastic foodie venue. The staff is fantastic. I was able to enjoy 84 for breakfast. The food was hearty and my cup of coffee was never dry. So I tried dinner. The steak was huge, tender, and flavorful. Had to take 1/2 of it back to my room. My leftover steak was warmed up using solar heat up front. It made for a bountiful treat on my flight back to another cold venue. read more

I'm staying at the Radisson and went up to the second floor for some breakfast around 9:30AM. I was the only one there so it was just how i like it! Alicia was the waitress's name, and let me tell you...she handled ALL the tables that came in after me on her own!!! Kudos to her for the excellent service and such sweet hospitality!! Now, let's get to the food......i ordered the sweet cream pancakes. They were airy and fluffy just as advertised, and they were HUGE. I took a photo with my hand next to them for reference! (I have regular sized hands ) The dish comes with maple syrup and three little butter balls. My mom raised me to finish all the food on my plate, so i was determined !! I was here on a layover and it was snowing and bloody cold outside so I opted to stay in and dine at the restaurant/bar. I ordered the linguine ortolano to keep it simple. Whoever is making pasta in the back has no clue of what pasta is or what the hell they are doing. To put it bluntly the dish was garbage. It was literally boiled pasta in watery cream sauce with no flavor at all and just some mushrooms and asparagus bits thrown in. The sauce if you can call it that was so overpowering with lemon I had to keep drinking water to douse the acidity and there was no Parmesan cheese in there at all. Service - I hate being cruel but the service at the bar is pathetic. It took 20 mins for the bartender to take my order because she was overwhelmed by people interrupting her for drinks or change. Not once did she ask me if I needed a refill for my water or how the food was or if she could get me anything else. Just appalling. I only tipped $2 because I felt bad and even that was generous. Never go here and I most certainly will never eat here again. In hindsight I was better off in the cold going outside to find food. How the hell do you screw up a simple linguine dish???? read more

Instantly greeted with a very lively and energetic host gave off such a great vibe. The atmosphere is nice, with the noise level low to enjoy conversations easily and service that's very accommodating and kind. All the food came out in a timely manner, spaced enough between appetizers and entrees. I felt a little basic this evening and decided to try the spaghetti and meatballs. I'm usually very picky when it comes to this dish, and this place delivered! The meatball cooked throughly and the noodles weren't overcooked. The sauce had a perfect mild kick that completed the dish nicely. Bruschetta was an excellent appetizer as well, with the bread toasted perfectly, and sliced thin enough to not be too hard. This review is based on breakfast only (so far). My daughter and I stopped in for breakfast, as it was something I've been wanting to do since seeing their breakfast menu over these past few weeks after their opening. We both really enjoyed our meals and they were reasonably priced for what you get and this being in a hotel. I had a difficult time choosing but finally picked the Hash Scramble. The scrambled eggs & sauce sits on top of the other ingredients, as you can see if you look at the pic I posted. The bacon in the hashbrowns added a nice texture to it. My daughter went with the Sweet Hawaiian French Toast (also see pic). I tried to order the cinnamon roll too, as I was curious of how it would be, but they were already out of them. This was actually good as I didn't have room and it saved me the calories. Though I'll try ordering it again on a future breakfast visit, as I know I will be back to try other items. read more

Classy, slow food. Our dinner was a delightful linger in an elegant setting. We sat at a window table. The curtains between tables create an intimate atmosphere. We ate the charcuterie plate, NY steak, and carbonara. Husband said he couldn't have cooked the steak better himself. This is high praise. The carbonara was delightfully creamy. It filled me up, but I kept having "one more bite" because it was delicious. The charcuterie was excellent. I don't know what one of the meats was, but it was so good! The three cheeses were high quality. The fig jam was stunning. The toasted bread with fig jam and cheese was my best bite of the night. The wine list is impressive and the Cabernet that I ordered was full bodied and not too dry, just the way I like my cabs. I cannot rave enough about my experience at Blu Bar/ 84. From the food to the service everything was exceptional. I was served by Shelly and she was not only attentive but thoughtful. Took my seat and the dude came up to the table and said "soo what do you want" first off customer service would be nice. I ordered a steak and asked for it to be prepared well and it was rare... was not given any silverware or water once I sat down either and the dessert I ordered was just as terrible. It was supposed to be a shot of espresso with vanilla gelato, instead I got a half cup of coffee with a teaspoon of vanilla bean ice cream.. if you can't make dishes properly you should not have them on the menu. During my dinner I could overhear the waiter talking about how he went out the night before and he is "sooo hungover" what someone does in their personal time is on them but you can't let it affect your professionalism at work. I paid almost $100 for my meal and I can say that was a waste of my money and time. read more

Without a doubt, some of the worst food I have had in a very long time. The "osso bucco" was shockingly bad, served topped with an abundance of onions and pomegranate seeds. That's it; no sauce of any kind. The shank was identifiable only by its bone which sat between two very small bits of meat. Underneath was some very dry "risotto", slightly undercooked and oddly seasoned with tarragon and seemingly nothing else. This dish is an insult to Italians everywhere. The gnocchi came with cherry tomatoes, olives and mozzarella, and was also dry and unsauced. New York steak is served swimming on a soy based sauce and accompanied by broccolini, the only palatable thing on the plate, and some soggy "roasted" potatoes. The ribeye steak was the only acceptable meal. If you are looking for sandwiches 84 might be OK but avoid it if a nice dinner is what you have in mind. read more

Was excited to see 84 serves breakfast on weekdays; this is a big gap in Fargo's restaurant scene outside of mainstays like The Shack. Brought some out of town colleagues here before a day of meetings. The space itself is very nice, and appeared to have been remodeled recently. Unfortunately, the food was not what we'd hoped it would be. Eggs Benedict was very overcooked; hash scramble tasted like it had been cooked in mildly rancid oil; jams were commercially packaged and sourdough toast seemed like a store bought white bread. Fargo has so many great local makers from which to source and showcase coffee/bread/toast toppings among others; in addition, breakfast/brunch has a ton of untapped potential in this city. I hope 84 can step up their game and draw in more morning patrons. read more

Excellent food! Excellent service! Anyone who has been to a restaurant soft opening knows it's similar to the beginning of a symphony concert. Everyone from the chefs, to the servers, to the hosts are "tuning" their particular talent, in anticipation of a feast for the senses. We had the rib-eye, and top sirloin, and loved every bite! The top sirloin came with a lovely bleu cheese mousse that was an absolute delight. The ribeye was served on a bed of a savory crunchy, I don't know what - it was a mystery. But as Tom Hanks as Sam Baldwin says in Sleepless in Seattle, "These are things I'm willing to get to the bottom of." And that is why we're going back early and often! This was a second choice for date night, and it should have been last, actually I should have stayed home. Food was mediocre, the drinks took way too long, the service was poor, the experience was poor, and the server was rude. I watched the table next to me receive great service, whilst ours was incomparable. I will never support this business again, and I was ready to tab out before we even ordered food. I never heard back from manager after issuing a complaint, not that that would change my mind, but do not offer a call back if you do not plan on giving one. Nothing about this experience wowed me or made me want to come back. This should have been an intimate, luxury, and beautiful experience, but was nothing of that nature. We had one of thee most wonderful nights at 84! We decided to have a date night on a busy Friday night. Booked through Google, oops, they did not get our reservation but were able to seat us. On January 6 2024, my wife's birthday, we decided to go to the 84 Italian Steakhouse to have dinner and just to celebrate her. When we got there the host brought us to our seats and we were we sitting for almost half an hour, nobody came to offer us anything. They did not offer us water, take our drink orders, let us know there would be a wait. No communication of any sort. They were clearing tables, offering other customers extra sauce, taking bills, having conversations all while we seated there, they didn't even look in our direction so my wife and I decided to leave. We assumed that due to our ethnicity or maybe our race that we were not welcomed there, or that our money was not as green as other customers. I am very disappointed in the service but also that my wife had to experience this on her birthday. I would not recommend this restaurant for persons of color. There are many other restaurant in downtown Fargo that are warm inviting and inclusive. read more

We had such high hopes for this restaurant. The host was so nice and we really wanted to like it. I ordered the chicken and gnocchi soup. To me, chicken soup is a brothy soup made with chicken broth. When it came, it was all cream. I can't tolerate milk products. It should have stated cream of chicken soup on the menu. As she brought my soup, she told my husband, they did not have the carpaccio. That was the second disappointment. She should,d have known that when we ordered. There is a lack of communication between the kitchen and the front of the house. Also, we were charged for the nonexistent carpaccio so they had to redo the bill. The salmon entree was dry and the topping was very small so it didn't have much taste.
