harley's, i got a wedgie and i must say a little disappointed in the lack of meat, but the toppings top noch. the mayo tasted as if it was freshly made. I grilled my own steak for the wedgie and put it on top and it was a 10 /10 when it once was a 5/10. There really is no wrong answer here: EXCEPT you cannot buy a circular pizza. If you get a pizza get a CHAMP. Square cuts, 16, and so incredibly good. There's nothing special about the pizza- it's more built to go rather than for show but has been a must-have forever. In terms of their wings - they are very good usually just going with mild or medium, and the wings always come with carrots and celery as well as one of my top 3 bleu cheeses of all time anywhere in the Western Hemisphere. The most underrated and best-kept secret they have on the menu is the cheese sticks and pepperoni sticks which are not the traditional logs and fries but rather a square flip type pizza with cheese in the middle that's "perforated" to show the cheese Inside. Incredible. My favorite pastime always was to get the 2 small wedgies for $7.99 with coupon with my dad when we would watch games - him going with the steak and I either the steak or the roast beef. This place is as Cumberland as teen pregnancy, church steeples, and that weirdo who sells his homemade CDs down by the post office -- so if you ain't from here, you probably won't get it. Whatever, go make some avocado toast & sniff your own farts, bro. The actual food you ask? Sometimes sublime, sometimes god-awful. Stumbled upon this place today. It's a very basic walk in pizza place. Aesthetically it is nothing special but the food was really good. We got a buffalo chicken pizza as well as a steak and cheese. The pizza was delicious, a lot of cheese, food amount of chicken, good size container of bleu cheese, a little more buffalo would have been nice tho. My dad really enjoyed steak and cheese. Always have to come back here when I come in town. Their pizza is okay but their cheese sticks and wedgies are fantastic and always are included in our order. I personally like the wings, very wet and not too crunchy as is my wing palette. Their staff is a little abrasive, but not too bad for a dude who lived in philly and DC, hence the -1 Star(I know other reviewers didn't appreciate the level of customer interface). Today was my first experience ordering from Hartley's and it will absolutely be my last. This joke of an establishment will never get another dime from me. I ordered a "turkey and cheese" salad as part of a group order at work. When I received my salad, there was a significant amount of pepperoni and bacon scattered throughout. I use the term bacon loosely, as it was mostly chunks of pink pork fat. There was just as much pepperoni and bacon as there was turkey. Regardless of the disgusting appearance of the "salad" (it was basically a container full of meat), I was sure they had just brought the wrong item. Not only was this not what I had ordered per the menu, but not something I could eat as I do not eat pork. When I called, I explained what I had received and said I thought the wrong item was sent. The employee informed me that ALL of their salads come with pepperoni and bacon, even their tossed salad! Never in my life have I experienced a restaurant that liberally sprinkles random menu items with pork. I pointed out that this is not noted on the menu, and it is completely unreasonable to expect me to anticipate pork on a "turkey and cheese" salad. The employee first offered me a replacement salad, then asked me to hold. She returned to the line to tell me that the owner stated a replacement was not being offered because "it was not [their] error". I was beyond stunned at this point. They create a nonsensical menu item, poorly advertised, then expect people to simply eat what they are offered. I am floored that the owner cares so little for the quality and integrity of their food, the reputation of their business, and the value of their customers' money. I am embarrassed that a local business owner would have such a lack of pride in their establishment. I felt bad for the employee (who was obviously also embarrassed by the owner's sub-par "problem solving" skills), so I didn't want to give her too hard a time. I did ask her to point out to her owner that they are going head-to-head with me over a $6 salad, but failing to consider that I ordered as part of a group from one of the largest employers in the area--a big source of business for them. The next time someone is looking to place a large order, I will be sure to mention the owner's lackadaisical attitude toward running their restaurant and their complete unwillingness to offer even the weakest attempt at customer service. read more

I ordered a pizza from Hartley's in cumberland and they were busy and gave a 30 minute wait time..no problem. Had to do some other things prior to picking up my pie. I get there after 30+ minutes, pay and wait 10 minutes then I hear the cashier talking to an older female, they made my pizza with the incorrect toppings. So the female said nothing, gave me no further wait time and placed the wrong pizza on the warming rack. I see behind the counter, that they are remaking my pizza. I wait an additional 30 minutes with my wife and 10 month old baby in the car and finally the cashier brings me the pizza. He said NOTHING, no sorry, NOTHING. So I ask him if I may have a discount for the added wait and inconvience or the extra pizza that was made incorrectly? The cashier told me to speak to the female, I ask the female rather I can have the extra pie or a small discount, she replayed "NO". I asked again, "but ma'am you made me wait extra time and I think you should correct your admitted mistake, please." She then began to raise her voice telling me not a chance and began insulting me, telling me I wasn't getting any FREE food here! I still kept asking only for a discount OR the extra pizza without losing my cool. I explained that I felt the below average service should be addressed in some manner...she wouldn't budge! I then asked that I get my refund if they weren't willing to correct the issue in a professional manner. She flung open the cash register and threw my money at me, ontop the pizza I no longer wanted. Before I had the time to pick the money off the pizza box she yanked the pizza off the counter flinging my money on the counter and floor. She screamed for me to NEVER come back again. This female was the owner of Hartley's, I was in utter shock. I told the female to have a very nice day and left. I proceeded down the street a little heartbroken, grew up on Hartley's and I really love to support the little guys. I still needed dinner so I order two pies from Papa Johns and waited 15 minutes, upon paying I shared how I was treated by Hartley's with the cashier at Papa John's and he expressed how sorry he was and provided a 50% discount off my entire order! How much more awesome could a business get? I got an incorrect order from Papa John's one time, I called and they told me to come down for the correct pie. I drove down and tried giving them the incorrect pie in exchange, they refused and told me to please take the incorrect pie and the corrected pie. They also gave me a 100% refund without me asking. Papa Johns accepted their mistake in the past and not only did they treat me as a valued customer they OVER compensated my time and gas money. KUDOS to you Papa Johns of Cumberland and Shame on you Hartley's and it's owner who couldn't be less business minded. Papa Johns not only accepted their mistake in the past BETTER than could be expected but gave me the sorry I didn't receive from Hartley's tonight and showed me that my business is apperciated, valued and welcome. I moved to the area about two years ago and when I got here I was looking for "fresh home cooked pizza". I was pointed to here and walked in to order. I watched the teenager pull a shrink wrapped hockey puck out of the freezer and proceed to slather marinara sauce on it followed by a little bit of cheese. Took 7 minutes to make and tasted horrific. My family has been eating Hartley's for decades. They will sometimes go through a down phase but it is a convenient and overall good choice, if you are not on a health kick. This place used to have the Best Fried Chicken Breast but that along with customer service has gone out the window. I called the other night to order my husband and I dinner and we almost always get 2 2 Breast Chicken dinners well they tell me that they are out of chicken breasts which ok it happens. So I tell the guy i will call back after looking at the menu. So my husband and I then decide on 2 of their hoagies for dinner instead. So I called back and then the guy tells me im sorry we are also out of sub rolls. Ok so you could have told me that before when I said I was gonna call back. Instead he wasted my time and I felt jerked around. So fast forward to last night my husband and I finally got to order our chicken and we both noticed it was really juicy but it looked ok. So we ate without thinking anything of it. Until we Both woke up Burping a Sulfur Smelling Burps and Vomiting with Abdominal Pain. Our conclusion is that the chicken wasnt cooked all the way.
