I thought I hated smash burgers. Harts has changed my mind. I swear the Lou (without pickles) but add sautéed onions is the absolute best burger in the suburbs. It is flavorful, juicy and slightly crispy edges. A perfectly soft bun. This is how a smash burger should taste. We also love the vibe, salads and tacos but I keep coming back for Lou. My wife had the their famous "Lou Burger" The smash burgers are still juicy but crispy on the edges. Paid a couple of extra dollars and upgraded to the Parmesan truffle fries. The new owners took over last summer or fall, they have really put their hearts and souls into Hart's. There are so many fun happenings taking place now at Hart's: paint and sips, speed dating, all types fun sporting contests, holiday theme meals, etc, and the new owners are always present. If you have little kids, be sure to take them around holidays; the decor is out of this world. Christmas time was insanely fun, inside and out, but even now for Easter, you will not be disappointed. There are some new menu items too. I love the new tacos, chicken tinga is my favorite, but people rave about the birria tacos as well. Follow their specials for great deals too, for example, Mondays Kids Eat Free with an adult meal, on Thursdays they sell their Lou Burger with fries for $12 (I think) and Fridays are $10 apps. Love Harts. I'm not going to knock a star down because they always fix the issue - but if you get anything hot in one of those small condiment cups make sure you check it. It always melts though and then ruins the entire meal. But the servers are always wonder and kind, food is always spectacular. It's our go to when we want to stay local. Highly recommend! read more

I pulled up to Harts in Pingree Grove only because they sent a free birthday meal via the mail. This panned out to be one of the best decisions I made that month. If bad service can take away stars, well then good service can add stars. The food was way better than I expected and the vibe was chill. I haven't seen a jukebox in years, but this one was digital and the guy that was using it had a pretty good selection going. The cheese pizza with mushrooms I ordered had a good flavor. Enough to come back and eat another one some day in the near future. The matcha lemonade was nice and refreshing with a kick of lemon. I had to add a little simple syrup to sweeten it up a bit. Last, the fried dough bites were sweet and buttery. Not a big fan of chocolate, so they were good without the sauce. Service was exceptional. Juanita made us feel very much welcomed and at home. We stopped here on a trip to Wisconsin and we are so glad we did! The food was amazing. We got the big shot burgers and they are the big shot! They come between two full grilled cheese sandwich's as their bun. The burgers were cooked to perfection! Cheese curds were the best we've had. After a drive it was time for a drink. I wasn't expecting much from here. There's of course the beer and basic liquors. Forget it though, and get one of their cocktails. The one I got was the Garage Paloma. It's about $11 for most cocktails. This one is made with El Jimador Reposado, Fever Tree Grapefruit Soda, and Giffard Pamplemousse. Kind of like a pop almost. This was fizzy and sweet. Might as well get something to eat. They have some good bites including the Pretzel Sticks. It's $12 for a few that are big ass. They're good with the Lagunitas IPA cheese or basic mustard, big and fluffy. Could come back if over here again. It makes a pretty good hangout. Honestly the quality of food was great. The fries were perfect and had the perfect amount of crunch and softness. However, my order was wrong three times in a row! I understand these things happen and the server was kind enough to just cut the burger off of the bill since i basically had to eat when everyone else already finished their meal. They penalize for paying cash! When our server brought our bill we were informed that it is their policy to "round UP" because they don't give coins. So, they took eighty cents more than the total of our bill because we were paying with cash. I'm not concerned about the amount of change, but I am concerned with how they take more money than they are owed. Other establishments will give the "opportunity to round up for charity" instead of change. This place does not have that option, they just take it. They call it policy, I call it something else. read more

As much as I hate writing bad reviews for new businesses, especially in the current environment, I have to say I had a pretty bad meal here. I got nachos because they're usually safe with pulled pork and what I got was really bad tortilla chips, gas station grade nacho cheese, no beans (which I knew going into it it would not have any) and a few little amount of pork. It was overflowing with the nacho cheese so that's pretty much all you could taste. The kicker was it was $16! I had one craft beer that was $7. Look, I get things are expensive, especially for a new business, but you gotta figure out how to do more with what you got because I've had better nachos for less at soldier field and that's pretty grim. My wife and I went there on a Saturday night to grab a bit to eat. First time we have ever been there. Easy to find and quite nice inside, clean and we were promptly seated. My husband and I found Hart's Garage as we were in the Saint Charles area heading back to Wisconsin and hungry. Following a recommendation fora beer selection, we enjoyed a delicious Kolsch named Lu from Solemn Oath brewery. My husband chose the pulled pork sandwich from the Secret menu, and I picked a make your own smash burger and we shared a bowl of potato soup. The potato soup had great flavor and we even took another order home with us for dinner. My husband's pulled pork was probably the best we have ever eaten. The sauce was sweet and savory, and the brioche bun was filled with super tender meat. My burger was juicy and delicious with Swiss cheese, raw onions and roasted red peppers. Decided to try a new place, other than our favorite Nikos. One of those 'should have known' when we realized hardly anyone is in there at 12 noon on a Saturday. But we wanted to give it a chance. After sitting for a bit, a guy came around to give us menus and waters. We started to notice there was no one else there except a younger teenager greeting people and running food. We put in our drink orders after grabbing the one single employee - he was very kind and honest, stating he really is not a bartender. I can't blame him for the red wine being refrigerator cold, and the old fashioned that tasted 'dirty'. People had come in the meantime, and everyone was just looking at each other. We decided to just leave, as there was no way wonderful Chris could handle all these new people coming in, being bartender, server, etc. We asked him where are the other employees, and he mentioned no one was scheduled until 4 pm!! How insane is that. We left, without drinking our bad drinks and gave Chris a good tip - though we should not have paid $29 for 3 bad drinks to Harts for this experience.
