Ordered UberEats and my order arrived quite fast - in less than an hour! Got their Lunch Bento box (Teriyaki Combo with California Rolls) - $17.95. The price was reasonable and the portion size was generous. However the quality was just ok. The salad wasn't too fresh and contained mainly of yellow (not too many green) lettuce, a few thin strips of carrots, and a slice of tomato. The salad dressing was too salty and sour for my preference. The chicken was very dry and overcooked. It came with a lot of chicken but I wished the chicken was more tender. The teriyaki sauce was not bad and paired decently with the chicken, making it slightly less dry. The California Rolls were probably my most favorite since it tasted very fresh and delicious. It had plenty of imitation salad and avocado so it was very enjoyable. The miso soup was not too salty and packed with flavor. It was very refreshing and tasty. We are always looking for new sushi places to try. This one is inside a plaza that has lots of Tesla charging stations. So parking was not easy (unless you drive a Tesla). I ordered the omakase A which came with 8 different assortments of sushi and a spicy tuna roll. They look super delicious and taste just as good! The fish is just fresh and I'll definitely say the prices aren't too bad for a sushi restaurant. The decor of the restaurant is modern and minimalistic which gives a nice upscale vibe. I went here awhile back for my girlfriend's birthday and it was my choice to have a re-feed on my diet that wasn't meal prep. It was a great experience, there were two servers on the floor for a slow night that handled everything in the restaurant. Both super friendly and patient as well. It was quiet with an open space and what I loved about it, was that the guests kept to themselves and understood the private/intimacy of the restaurant. Best service, the food is really good. We ordered tempura lobster roll (with REAL lobster) not crawfish like some other sushi spots, 3 other rolls. Yakisoba, bbq beef ribs. The yakisoba is good to split for 2 people. The ribs were tender. Not too sweet. But the star of the show is the lobster roll! We are actually going back today for it. Overall, all of the fish were fresh and tasty ,and our server was very present in refilling waters and checking in on us. After sipping on some Sapporo, we started with deep fried Shishito peppers. The kick surprised me, since I wasn't used to them being so spicy (!) Then we moved onto the Agedashi Tofu; nothing like a nice crisp fry and a soft interior to start the meal. After that, we had a variety of sushi and enjoyed a chirashi and sweet shrimp - yum! Some of these were so good that we even ordered two! Finding a favorite was indeed hard. Came back to Haruka Sushi for dinner with my boyfriend and his mom and had another great experience. We sat at the bar and chatted with sushi chef Nathan, who was super friendly and kind. We ordered the scallop nigiri and sweet shrimp nigiri again since they were my favorites last time and they did not disappoint. My boyfriend's mom got the eel bowl with avocado and tamago, which is perfect if you like cooked fish with a little sweetness. We also shared a few rolls including the rainbow roll and the yellowtail lover roll. Both were really good and I liked the asparagus in the yellowtail roll, such a nice touch. My favorite dish of the night was the Burukurabu Salmon Wrap. The blue crab was amazing and the ponzu with truffle oil paired so well. Chef also made us some mackerel to try and it was buttery, flavorful, and not fishy at all. Another great sushi night here and I will definitely be back soon for my weekly sushi fix. :) read more

It's so convenient that this establishment opened a restaurant in Pasadena. They are now conveniently located 5 minutes from our home. Previously, we would drive to their La Canada location. We came here to celebrate Fathers Day and what a great experience. The inside is simple, clean and spacious. My family loves sushi so we ordered many dishes to share. We ordered bluefin tuna, yellowtail, unagi, spicy tuna on crispy rice, mixed tempura and a couple rolls. Everything was prepared with fresh ingredients and presented nicely. The owner is very hospitable and polite. He even involuntarily upgraded our sushi order from yellowtail to yellowtail belly. We will definitely come again. A hidden gem in Pasadena -- perfect stop while your Tesla charges! Haruka is right next to the superchargers, and it's become our go-to spot whenever we're in the area. The restaurant was beautifully remodeled in February, and the space feels both delightful and tasteful. We've had lunch here three times recently, and each visit has been consistently excellent. The lunch bento boxes are a standout -- fresh, generous, and beautifully prepared. The salad is crisp with a light, refreshing dressing, and the California rolls and teriyaki are outstanding. On top of the great food, the service is warm and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. I had a large takeout order from this restaurant, and I was left really disappointed. I cannot say anything about the service or ambiance since it was a to-go order, but I can say that I found the food lacking. I ordered a chirashi bowl along with some other pieces of nigiri. I also tried some of the rolls other people in my group ordered. The slices of sashimi in the chirashi were ridiculously small, especially the shrimp. I can overlook that in some cases, but I also found the quality to be subpar. The sushi tasted like fish from a cheap all you can eat place. However, this place is charging high end sushi prices. The rolls and nigiri were also small and low quality. The only positive is that the presentation was beautiful, but it felt like a distraction from the below average fish. I love love the calamari here. If I could id order more but my tummy didn't allow it after eating everything. My friend got the super expensive omakase and it's think it was worth because they had uni in there and higher quality cuts. I got the cheaper one and I liked it because they didn't have uni. My favorite ones would be the ones on the left with the salmon. The eel sushi was also very good. Some of the sushi tasted like spring (most likely the flower?) They were nice to sub the blue crab handroll for a salmon roll for me. We couldn't finish all of the food so we togoed the dynamite roll and it tasted even better after we heated it up the next day. Parking is a bit weird. There's a whole roll of tesla charging stations so finding normal parking is a bit harder. read more

I will drive far for good sushi and this is one of those places. They just opened this location in Pasadena which is much closer than La Cañada Flintridge, so I was happy to visit. We ordered the medium moriawase sashimi to share since we couldn't decide which fish we wanted to try. It came with 3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, halibut, and striped jack. It was all very fresh, and the slices were thick. We also ordered the sunkissed roll and lion king roll on the side to make ourselves fuller since these came with rice. It worked because I thought I would be able to eat more after this but I was stuffed. Granted, I did have one spicy tuna crispy rice, which was extra crispy but a bit too fried in my opinion. My boyfriend also had the mixed tempura and devoured the whole plate. I came on a Thursday night and there were plenty of open seats, but I can imagine it getting popular on weekends. Half the food came out immediately while the other half did take a bit longer, but I think they're working out the kinks. Family and I wanted to try a new spot outside of our usually Japanese restaurant rotation and Haruka came up. Great reviews generally, looked good in pictures, and also close to us. The food is above average, some items really tasty ( best garlic edamame I've had, good yellowtail collar, and tempera nice and crunchy). Everyone was friendly and helpful, and service was fast. The not so good: 1. While eating the yakisoba, wife chewed on and found a rubber band in the food. The wait staff apologized and said they would take the dish off and give us dessert. Thought ok, I've worked in a restaurant before and I can see how this happened. Everything else is going well, we'll move on. 2. Towards the end of the meal, wife decided she didn't want her sake so I took her sake cup and took a sip. Lips felt something sharp. Immediately put the glass down and look at it. Realized it was broken, in a way the top was still somewhat rounded, but definitely broken. The staff again was apologetic and gave us an additional discount. I was torn on this review between a 2 and a 3. Ultimately I landed on a 3 as everyone was nice, most other reviews had great things, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that we were just really unlucky. Glad wife and I weren't cut by the broken sake cup, but that could have gone south real quick. Would we go back? Maybe in time but will likely go to other spots for now. read more
