This place is my go to for hibachi. It's so delicious and the servers are very nice when you dine in. Absolutely love the food!

I went here for lunch on a weekday. It was mostly empty, so there were no problems as far as getting my food in a timely manner. Tried the Harusaki sampler, which was quite good. The crab stars (which are the same as crab rangoon) were decent and tasted fresh, although I slightly preferred the gyoza. Note that the crab sticks are made with imitation meat, although this is not mentioned anywhere on the menu. Nonetheless, they were prepared nicely and tasted good. My main course was chicken curry, which fell short in both quality and presentation. The curry sauce was very watery, and had less flavor than I would have liked. However, the chicken itself had a good texture and was cooked properly. As for presentation, my waitress delivered the bowl with sauce all over it. I don't mean the sauce was all over the food; it was literally all over the bowl. As in, running down every side an forming a thick pool underneath it. Maybe I should have been grateful that the portion was too big for the bowl, but it looked sloppy and disgusting. I would consider going back to Harusaki, but there is no way I would get any of the curries. read more

I've eaten here many times before in restaurant.. tried to order delivery tonight and have never been so disappointed. Was told that they were very busy and had 2 deliveries in front of us and would be an hour. No big deal. This was at 6. We ordered a large order, $80+ worth of sushi. Called to check on our order at 7:15 and was told the delivery guy left 20 minutes before and had 4 orders including ours. We are 2 miles down the road. 8:15 rolls around and we call back and were told our food would be sent out with delivery guy in about 20 min. Wait.. what?!? We have a 2 year old that's past her bedtime and hasn't even ate yet. Ended up canceling the order because our "1 hour delivery " was turning into 3.. Delivery guy was very earnest and helpful (he also took my order on the phone). Sadly, the food left a lot to be desired, and the promised 30 minutes for delivery turned into over an hour. The edamame were fine. Spicy shrimp roll was pretty good, although two were spicy and the rest were not (?). Tempura california roll was hard rather than "tempura light" coating, and soaked in eel sauce, but still tasty. Summer rolls were sloppily made and sticky/hard to deal with, with thin bits of shrimp and very, very fine angel hair rice noodles, but ultimately they tasted good, with fresh basil. Dipping sauce was odd -- Chinese plum sauce topped with chopped peanuts?? The ikura (salmon roe) were awful. They're my kid's favorite, but neither she nor I could eat them. The roe was pale and translucent/milky instead of bright and transparent, and it smelled and tasted like old, on-the-edge fish. There was a sticky liquid oozing around the eggs. The sushi rice they sat on was saturated with the fishy liquid, and so it also smelled and tasted over the hill. The nori wrap was tough and impossible to bit through, due to the liquid. For the price, I expected more, though considering the mish-mash of Asian offerings (Korean, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese all on the same menu), I probably should've been more wary. read more

Not one to normally post unless it's a really terrible experience. Manager was rude, my food was not even prepared by the time I came to pick it up. Another woman placed her order and waited an hour with her food sitting on the counter. Didn't offer to take money off or compensate somehow. They asked people to wait for their pickup orders outside but weren't telling them when their order was up. Horrible experience, terrible attitude. read more

I noticed today that the reviews on here are mostly bad or so-so, but I personally really love this place! My husband and I often get the livingsocial deals, but even without one we still come. Their ckasdic & specialty sushi rolls are amazing. I have never been disappointed. The eel rolls, spider rolls and also their specialty "spiderman roll" are my favorite. I recently started a meat-free diet & they are happy to customize any vegetarian roll I can think of. Their miso soup is great & I love their veggie tempura. Harusaki is a Japanese/sushi restaurant in the alamance crossing shopping center right off exit 140 on I-40. They have a pretty big menu from hibachi to sushi and the prices are pretty good. I have eaten here a dozen times because it is one of the only sushi restraints in the area. I would recommend if you are in the area and are craving sushi and/or some hot sake. It is a small restaurant with a few booths and tables. The theme is very "asian" with dragons and asian landscape paintings and a big fish tank when you walk in. The waitress will seat you. I have never had issue with service here. They are always promptular sushi it is $9. That is a pretty good price for sushi I think. It also comes with a ginger salad or soup. You can make it three orders (18 rolls for $11). It should be noted that these rolls are not the typical sushi style. It is ground up tuna with spicy mayo stuffed inside rice and wrapped with seaweed. This is not whole pieces of tuna like some would expect. Not to worry, it is still yummy. There is a lot of creative rolls too that are more expensive $10+ that look pretty good, although I have never tried them. I also like to order a carafe of hot sake. It comes with tiny cup and warm carafe and is very good and cheap (about $5). It is a small restaurant with a few booths and tables. The theme is very "asian" with dragons and asian landscape paintings and a big fish tank when you walk in. The waitress will seat you. There is typically a bunch of young high school aged kids working. I have never had issue with service here. They are average as far as service goes. Like I said, the place is small, so the staff can't really hide from you. You can watch the sushi chefs make your sushi at the sushi bar if that is your thing, or just sip on some hot sake until your order it ready. They do carry out order too. Ate alone for lunch and sat at the counter. The waitress at the front couldn't find a smile to save her life. I ordered the Apple Chicken and brown rice. The rice was dry and the chicken was small bits of fried chicken with a large amount of white sauce over the top and two small pieces of broccoli on either side of the dish. Not presented well and not a great flavor. The chicken was as dry as the rice. The sauce had a familiar flavor and was tasty but not wonderful. Will not try this place again. read more

I had the fried rice with pineapple and chicken and it was very tasty. Seems like an ordinary dish but with the spices they put in it, it was excellent. Placed an online order and paid for it. Waited the 30 minutes and went to pick up the order and was told the order wasn't ever started. Don't worry they said, it will only take 5 minutes. Called again to tell them I was hung up on and was told to wait again. They did not mute the phone and I hear the employees in the background "these people won't stop fucking calling" I called yet again and I've been put on hold and they aren't even answering any other calls. Update: I called a 4th time and just drove there and when I got there it was the 17th minute on hold this time. The girl answering phones acted dumbfounded and when the owner came to talk he would not let me communicate my situation all he heard was "I ordered from grub hub..." and he was like "call grub hub we never got the order." Just "call grub hub call grub hub" like okay if you guys answered an hour ago I would have known that then and he would have known and I could have you know ORDERED AGAIN! When I say I am absolutely surprise this place is still in business. I mean it. The place has an unpleasant smell (we should of took that red flag and left). We ordered our food and an appetizer. I absolutely love this place! Me and my husband sit in and eat every once in awhile but I love to order and pick up and bring it home. I always order the hibachi chicken with only broccoli as the vegetables and it's always perfect. The brown rice is scrumptious. White sauce is PERFECT. you get generous amount for what you pay. This was my very first and LAST visit to this establishment. My family and I were looking for a new place to dine for some authentic Asian food. We ordered takeout. I had the shrimp fried rice which was actually good. My daughter had the steak fried rice which was void of steak! When we got home and took our orders out there were only bits of steak which totaled maybe 4Pcs. When my daughter called to complain the manager was rude to the point of being belligerent stating that my daughter was lying because he had fixed it himself and that his restaurant had never had a complaint since being in business! My wife and I have given this place multiple attempts. The wait has ALWAYS been long but this last time was the final straw. I am not one to complain or write bad reviews on a place because I know how busy it can get. We put in an order around 5pm and got confirmation that our order would be here around 615. Well I waited till around 7 before I called. They told me that I was wrong and that I requested it be delivered at 730. I have email confirmation saying otherwise. Come to find out they mixed up the delivery with someone else. I was told the entire time I was on the phone that someone would call me back ASAP. They never did. I even drove to the place to figure out what was going on, and they told me to just hold on and that they have not even started our order yet. Both my wife and I called (no angry just trying to figure out what was going on) and were lied to saying it was on the way when our order had not even been prepared yet. Finally around 845 pm we received our food. I called them back to figure out what happened and I was told to hold and then said I'd receive a call back. I never did. So I called them and argued with a "manager" and she told me there was nothing that could be done. She cut me off multiple times and kept on thinking I was a different person from a different address. I even gave her my confirmation number from the order number.
