I ordered over Uber eats and got the sweetest note!
Dana T.

Man I'm so impressed with Haruseki. I ordered over UberEats and was so thrilled by the quality of the packaging and the food itself. The rolls were fresh and chilled, the fish itself was flavorful, the ikura nigiri was extremely fresh. I cannot wait to come in person to try their other items out. If folks at Haruseki went above and beyond for my online order, it makes me excited for what the in person experience would be. See you soon!!!

GF gluten free sauces

Leaving another review because I am SO impressed with this place! As someone who is gluten free, and has to write in a lot of "special requests" on online orders, it is always nerve wracking waiting to see if the restaurant actually fulfills the special requests... Haruseki has NEVER failed me! I notated GF soy sauce, and they paid special attention to provide gluten free soy sauce AND gluten free eel sauce! I've never had a sushi restaurant do that before. I didn't even know gf eel sauce existed. The packaging is so elegant and clearly notated for all special requests. I am so so impressed. My new favorite to-go sushi. Thank you so much!

Really good sushi but the wait is 1 hr! It's in this food pick up mall in Costa Mesa. You just go to the front and there's a person working there who has a bunch of lockers with food ready for pick up. Parking lot is really small and crowded. No water cups. You can't see the restaurant or talk to any staff. You just talk to the mall attendant. Close to the beach so it was nice for a beach lunch picnic. They put 2 rolls together in a box so it was confusing because we got 6 rolls for 3 girls and they were all kind of mixed up and again you can't speak to the restaurant

Great place and fantastic food! Fish eggs were appetizing! Fresh ingredients, good miso soup, and sparkling water is a great touch to have around 11:49 pm. Thanks!

Salmon Bake Sushi and Pickled Cucumbers

One of the best family owned sushi spots in OC! Kind owners and delicious sushi. My favorite is the pickled cucumbers and baked salmon sushi. Definitely worth a try!

No rice sashimi roll (top) Sushi Moriawase (8pcs)

Customer service at its best! It's Super Bowl Sunday afternoon and I just placed an order through UberEats. Almost immediately I received a phone call from the restaurant explaining that they share a pick up lobby with a few restaurants, including Wingstop and because of Superbowl, Wingstop is extremely busy so there is a long wait for pick up at the lobby (about one hour). The owner asked me to give her phone number to the UberEats driver so he can call when he arrives and she will bring the order to him at the parking lot. She even added that if I am not able to reach the driver or if the driver gives up, she will personally deliver my order to me! When the driver arrived, the owner was already in the parking lot waiting for him with my order! I ordered sushi moriawase and no rice sashimi roll. Both were great! I am a fan of this restaurant now. Will definitely reorder.

I got the Salmon Lover Combo. Everything was very fresh and delicious. My food was ready in less than 10 mons, so fast! And a great price. It's really easy to order on the kiosk in-person or ahead of time. You pick up your food via a contactless secure locker. The salmon was so fresh and creamy, and a generous fish portion for every piece. I went for the grand opening and it included a complementary noodle salad, very bright and refreshing. I will be back!

TORI MEAL, Spicy Yellowtail Nachos, Miso Soup, Seaweed Salad, Ramune (original), Noodle Salad(special off menu item that was complimentary)

This place recently opened and I was craving sushi so I decided to check it out and it turned out to be SO GOOD! The presentation, flavor, freshness of the ingredients, and the generous portions were all amazing. I also didn't have to wait long for all this food as it was a very reasonable time frame. This place is take out only so you just pick out items you want at one of the kiosks and it tells you an estimated time of how long it will take to be made. Today I decided to enjoy my food at a nice park nearby and I can't wait to go back to try some of their other menu items!

I was so surprised by the details. So sweet. Also the food is beyond amazing and at a great price. We will be reordering. Thanks so much!

I would definitely recommend putting your name on the Yelp waitlist before arriving to reduce the wait time. By doing that, we were promptly seated right after checking in with the hostess. Even though if you are seated at the bar, you won't interact with the chefs as they only process the order through the servers. So I would recommend to forego the sushi bar and get seated at the table which is more comfortable. As for the food, the place offered the usual fare and your typical nigiri and rolls. The fish was ok, with nothing to really wow you. The uni (sea urchin) nigiri is a little dated and was not that fresh. If your preferences are rolls instead of nigiri, then there are quite more selection with the majority of the rolls are the typical california rolls, topped with various types of fish, shrimp, crawfish, etc. and an abundance of mayo sauce. Overall, I would say it's a decent place for a regular night out for sushi, but nothing to really wow you. One note... I did not realize the server accidentally overcharged the dinner bill until I went home and took a look of the receipt. I did call the following day to inform them, and the manager, Daniel, was happy to adjust the bill to the correct amount, and in addition, gave me a $20 gift card for the inconvenience. That is top-notch customer service.

The coating was tasty, the chicken was juicy, and the sauce with a little bit of lemon was exquisite. For the main dish, I went a little bold and tried their Chicken Katsu with Umeboshi Sauce and Shiso inside the katsu. May sound kind of odd, but the combination of flavors was both fresh and bold. Service at the restaurant was solid and I don't think there was a moment where my water wasn't full. Ordered another pork katsu set for my older son to go. He enjoyed it. So so so good! What a gem!!!! Beautiful woodsy ambiance. Staff were Japanese. An authentic experience. Will definitely be back.

Randomly decided to try this place with the wife last night…read more I remembered there being a spot called mogu mogu here prior and confirmed with the waitress that it's the same menu! Spicy miso ramen: 9/10 Actually one of the better ramens I've had lately. The broth is creamier and isn't overpowering with chicken/beef flavor. The chashu was nice and tender as well. I really liked that their noodles were al dente and not too soft Deluxe mazemen: 8/10 Taking my first bite, I was instantly greeted with an explosion of umami. There's a LOT of flavor packed in this bowl and the noodles used are actually a bit thicker which is right up my alley. My only drawback on this dish was that I wished it came with some sort of veggies to cut through all the flavor. They also give you a small serving of rice at the end for you to mix into the bottom which was a nice addition Kurobota sausage: 7.5/10 We've recently been on a kurobota craze. Don't get me wrong, these were great but we've only had them charred and grilled before so I was taken aback when I saw that these were only steamed. The interior is cozy and small with authentic Japanese decorations/setup. Kinda felt like we were eating in Kyoto or something, lol. The lady who served us was friendly and gave us good recommendations. I think she was handling the whole operation to be honest. To start it off, we ordered their specialty chicken karaage and it was very delicious. It has a nice crispy and crunchy texture. The batter on the chicken was good and once you bite it, the meat is juicy and tender. Doesn't really need dipping since it's so good. As for the Mazemen, we ordered the Deluxe and Veggie one, both is a 5/5. Very flavorful and it tastes just like ramen, but without the soup. The presentation of the dish looks like a work of art. Very picture pretty. I ate that shit up within ten minutes. After that they give you a scoop of rice so you can mix it up with the leftover sauce. Lots of umami for sure. Definitely will come back again to try the other flavors. People, trust me and come through!
