The dish was nice and sweet (I love it that way) and creamy. My panang was absolutely loaded with chicken. There was enough to have dinner for 2 evenings in my hotel room. The service was impeccable. This hit so hard. I was craving Thai food so bad so I caved and ordered delivery. I got the pad see ew and mango sticky rice. The noodles were super chewy and there was the perfect level of savory/sweetness. Although I wish the pad see ew had a bit more "wok-smokiness", there was a good portion and with a decent quantity of chicken. It also wasn't super greasy, which I appreciated. The mango sticky rice was also so good. The mangoes were so sweet and perfectly ripe (I wish there was more!), the rice super chewy and perfectly sweet, and there was so much coconut sauce! We have been eating here for years! The service and food is hard to beat. The employees have been so incredibly kind. I love that they recognize us when we walk in and give us a warm greeting. The green curry here is my all time favorite. I love the fresh veggies they use. It's perfect every time. Another staple item is the Bangkok side walk. Egg, meat, rice, yum! When I want soup, I love the wonton soup. It's warm and comforting. We have ordered both dine in and takeout. When we dine in the staff is attentive and helpful. We wanted to find a Thai place near my friends house and this was listed. Its at a small strip mall with very limited parking lot. The place is favored for to-go with few tables for dine-in. Not a place for large group for dine-in. Menu was simple and covered pretty much most of the Thai dishes. We went with our usuals. Noodles (pad ke mao), rice (bangkok shrimp), appetizer (shrimp roll) and a sticky mango rice. Taste was good, however portion size was tiny like the restaurant. Please patronize this place for two reasons: 1) the food was hot, fresh and great quality, and 2) they routinely have been giving food to at least one homeless guy in the area over the past few years. I had ordered a shrimp pad Thai. After I picked it up I saw a homeless guy with a crutch nearby (it's in a nice residential area), and tried to give him my food, but discovered he had already been getting food from this restaurant! This is a modest family run place, but it speaks volumes that on their razor thin profit margins they have been freely donating food to keep this individual alive for the past few years. Be careful with this business. They charge different amount than what they have on their menu. When I asked why, they said it's 3% transaction fee because I paid with credit card which is added on each item, then also charge you tax on those transaction fee. It doesn't say anywhere on their menu that the price is 3% more when you pay with credit card. This is a scam. They didn't give me an itemized bill before I paid. They only hand me the handheld machine to pay and didn't see the itemized bill until I printed it out. Their food is nothing extra ordinary and expensive for what they charge. Tiny restaurant with just a few tables since they do mostly to go orders. Ordered a pad thai for a quick bite while running errands in the area. Took me by surprise how good that was. The noodles were super chewy, the way I like them. Regular menu item (and not lunch special) but it is a smaller serving compared to other Thai restaurants I'm used too. But it was very very good. And the chicken was tender and flavorful. Honestly, I think it is so much better than any of the fancy Thai restaurants I've been to. Also got an order of sticky rice without the mango. Excellent! So, I'd like to be very fair to the lovely lady serving. I didn't do any research on this place nor had it been recommended. First tell, my water was served in a plastic cup. Secondly, the food came out in 3 minutes. Though it looked good initially, I definitely wasn't love at first bite. I ordered the Pad Thai the noodles were "clumped" together, very tough and the chicken lacked any flavor. The dumplings we're also very bland. I asked for peanut sauce they charged me $2.50. My go-to Thai place! And I've searched high and low in a 25 mile radius. If you're in the area and love Thai food, highly recommend dropping by. Service - hands down amazing and reliable. The ladies are always so friendly and kind. They know their operations too, never miss a beat on the timing of the orders. Food - delicious and generous. Their Thai spicy is excellent. It's been a struggle finding a Thai place that lands that correct amount of heat, but Bangkok Corner never misses. You can't go wrong with any dish. From their noodle dishes to their stir fries and their curries, they are all so flavorful and wonderful. Portion sizes are good too, definitely one entree is good for a meal. Parking - the area does get a little tight, but there is a neighborhood it looks like so maybe you could do street parking? I generally do carry out so I'm able to grab one of those 15 minute spots to grab my food. Either way, drop by Bangkok Corner and give their dishes a try. This is hands down my favorite Thai place I have tried in Orange County! Granted, I do only usually get pad see ew, but I think it's a classic and very much worth basing my entire review off of. Their Yellow Curry dish is a solid 5 stars. It tasted delicious and fresh. The chicken, potatoes, and carrots blended together perfectly and the curry itself was mild (as requested) with a very flavorful kick. The jasmine rice was soft and fluffy, just as rice should be to soak up that yummy curry. The dish reminded me of my favorite in VA and everyone here loved it. I am born and raised here, I have been a customer here for over 10 years! This is my favorite restaurant. I tell all my friends to order here. This sweet little place is better than any other Thai restaurant in the city, or any in our county to be honest. I love all Costa Mesa businesses, but Bangkok Corner has the most delicious and flavorful dishes (Tom Yum Gai & Bangkok Side Walk, or any Curry are my faves). I work in Irvine, I order Thai weekly from all over but Bangkok Corner is the best. Their food comes out piping hot every time, so tasty and fresh. Their strength is really their consistency, Bangkok Corner is reliable every time - I know what to expect, their dishes are excellent and prepared the same way every time. I'm not exaggerating ...their service is akin to Michelin restaurants and I have been to many, they are always ready to help and provide immediate assistance. If you are sick or have the flu, I recommend ordering any of their soups as "hot" spicy level. It will heal you. It's my favorite. I sincerely don't understand the reviews, especially those that complain about their experience being too fast etc, because my experience has ALWAYS been (for +10 years) WONDERFUL, and I'm a fairly certain they don't know me/& they don't recognize me as a regular, nor do they treat me differently than any other customer. I usually come here whenever I'm feeling sick because I always get the Tom Yum with chicken soup. There aren't a lot of Thai restaurants around my work so this is the most convenient. I always get it to-go because I'm already feeling sick and just want to go home and eat it and sleep. This last visit was a little disappointing though. It wasn't hot like it usually is. I actually felt like I needed to heat it up more when I got home. Usually when I order soup it's actually too hot and I have to take the top off in order to cool it down. Ordered on Yelp and food was ready in 15 minutes. It is Avery tiny parking lot but lots of people were doing pick up. We had pineapple fried rice with chicken, 3-4 large pieces of shrimp, eggs, pineapple, onions, and cashews. The chicken breast was moist. Interestingly - it had curry powder and cashews in it. So pretty flavorful but not spicy. I wasn't a fan of nuts in the fried rice but it was easy enough to eat around since it was whole cashews. We also the Salmon panang with broccoli and jasmine rice. Be aware that the curry tasted of peanuts instead of coconut milk only. If you have nut allergy- you need to call to ask. The food was all delicious and we would order again. read more
