the coffee was good; the barista was really rude. my friend had a video play on her phone from across the coffee shop, the barista gave her a dirty look for the sound being too loud, i guess. we overheard the barista get angry with another customer saying "i'm not trained to make this drink! i don't know how to make this drink! i'm not making this drink!" she was really unfriendly. i was also a barista a few years ago and i would never have spoken to a guest that way. to top it off she failed to mention the drink was only going to be half a cup, which is fine but i asked how the drink was made and she got curt with me. did not catch the baristas name though. read more

The owner/manager is extremely rude and inconsiderate of his customers. He clearly only cares about money and exploiting his customers. Not only is it required to make a purchase for each person to use the wifi (it's 2019 btw wifi should be free lmao), he reduced the amount of time allowed on wifi with each purchase from 4 hours to 3 hours, taking advantage of the college students and their finals week. On top of this, me and my friend went for a walk as I was showing him Downtown Bryan for 15 minutes (we asked someone to look after our stuff btw), we came back to all our stuff missing and other people sitting at our table. Luckily, the girl we asked to look after our stuff told the owner/manager that she knew us and had our stuff moved to her table. When we asked the manager why he moved our stuff, he raised his voice and claimed "we took his table hostage for the day" even though we paid the unreasonable price for 6 hours of wifi. This used to be one of my favorite coffee shops, but I will not be returning. Save your money and go to Sweet Eugene's, where they have better coffee, free wifi, and hospitable service. read more

Harvest is overpriced and inconvenient for my coffee shop purposes: getting work done. The internet policy is tacky. Why not call yourselves an internet café and be more honest when you're essentially charging by the hour? Previous to the change in handing out wifi password with the receipt, I've been approached by baristas asking me to purchase something if I plan on staying. A nightmare of faux-hipster capitalism. This is a great place and their Slo Bru is fantastic! Their milk is hit or miss, often times it is on the too frothy side and should be more smooth but I have had it where it was just right, depends on the barista. Their staff and food are great! read more

While visiting from out of town, we decided to stop at Harvest Coffee Bar. There was one girl working behind the counter and she was so sweet and explained the menu to us. She was making coffee, preparing food, serving everyone, and bussing tables all by herself (and she made it look easy!). Service was super fast and the coffee and food were delicious! We were very impressed and we will be sure to come back next time we are in town. I highly recommend the grown up grilled cheese. read more

This is my first review ever. I never thought of writing reviews, but given my recent experiences, I would give this a try, in hopes that it brings about much improved quality businesses in this area. Let me preface this by saying that I'm not a coffee snob, just an addict, and I have had my fair share of coffee from some great places. My first time at Harvest was about a month ago. I was all too excited about a new coffee place since we are certainly lacking great coffee places in such a big community/College town. Harvest definitely has the coffee place vibe like what you would find in Austin, which is a plus. I went there late in the afternoon, so there were just a few customers there. I got the Harvest latte, thanks to other Yelpers. It was just OK. I could taste the cinnamon and brown sugar (?), but it was way too sweet for my liking (just like most Starbucks flavored drinks). It was not smooth either. Today, I decided to give this place another try, knowing that I had to pass through the area. I went in during lunchtime. The tables were almost full, and there were a couple more customers behind me. The display case has some good-looking muffins and Danish pastries. It was odd that the Danish were shown in half-cut, rectangular shape, but I thought to myself that maybe they just wanted to showcase the creamy fillings. I got a glimpse of the chalkboard menu and was overwhelmed by the $3.50 price tag for the Danish (I am a graduate student if that matters). However, I was on the run, hungry, and could not resist any berries and cream pastries. So, I went ahead and order the berries and cream Danish and the Harvest latte (again) to-go. The lady behind the counter (a different lady from last time), though seemed rushed, was polite and greeted me while she was preparing other customers' sandwiches. A few minutes later my order was ready. I did not remember that the latte was a 12 oz size last time (maybe it was; I have a memory of a goldfish; hence, an instant review). I noticed that the lady grabbed the Danish from somewhere behind the counter and put it in a bag. I needed to run, so I just grabbed my order and left. I had a sip of the latte when I reached my car, and to my disappointment, it was yet again too sweet (even more so than last time). No creaminess or distinct espresso flavor you would normally get from a good coffee place. I tried to take a bite of the Danish, which surprisingly (or not) comes in only one half-cut portion, but it was just plain solid and cold, as if it came straight from the freezer. I should have inquired the lady to warm it up, but c'mon!, it was not in an edible stage. I would have asked her to fix it if I had time. At least, I hope that they will improve upon this soon. Too soon to tell I guess. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go try the thawed Danish. read more

The absolute place for coffee lovers! The chai is creamy and frothy and the harvest latte is organic and delicious! I love the simplistic atmosphere, they are in a historic building and let the history of the building take center stage in their decor. It took us forever to get are drinks. The prices are about Starbucks but they charge you extra for cold drinks which is weird. We ordered 2 chia latte and a sweet tea. The chai tea was very good but it was unmixed so when you drinker it you sucked up a bunch of sugar. The tea had no sugar with little flavor. The employees were pretty friendly and nice. For those of you that are not aware the owner of harvest also owned Mugwalls. now I may be being biased but the truth its harvest is just as good. their lattes are great. Okay, gotta update from previous review. The coffee has improved, at least they have a very good barista working during the times that I'm most likely to visit. I've gotten some very good cappuccinos and lattes. Acoustics can still be an issue, but it hasn't been too crowded lately and I've been able to get some work done weekday mornings. I'm glad I gave this place another chance, and will continue to come back when I need to do a little studying and enjoy some decent coffee! read more

I was in Bryan for a couple of days and visited this place both days for drinks, muffins, and lunch (to go). Tea was fine, no comments about that. Mochachino muffin was too heavy and dense for my taste but other's might like it. Chicken salad sandwich - I asked before ordering if the bread was heavy enough to not fall apart and was told it was. The chicken salad itself was tasted good, though a bit heavy on the mayo/dressing. Because of that, I'm sure, the bread did fall apart before I could finish the sandwich. A croissant or roll would have held up better. Day two I tried the roast beef sandwich which was to have a horseradish dressing. I couldn't taste any at all, so returned and asked for some, which was provided. However it tasted like dill to me, I still couldn't taste any horseradish though I applied it liberally to the sandwich. The beef itself was cooked to the point that it had no beef flavor left. Simply a chewy bunch of meat. Service was fine, speed was fine. Bathroom toilet needed cleaning, especially on the outside. So the place gets three stars. Probably best to stick to the coffee and tea. read more

This place has a very nice decor to it but the overall experience is abysmal. The coffee is just mediocre and the wait can be extreme at times. The owner is not the friendliest and I've seen him be a complete ass to customers and even his own employees. I was in town for a wedding and this little coffee shop was between the wedding area and reception building, so I had to stop! The atmosphere was so lovely. Perfect for studying and just catching up with friends. I really dug it. Can't go wrong with exposed brick! I ordered my Classic vanilla latte (my go to drink to test every coffee shop). It came out incredibly fast and in a really cute mug and great latte art. The drink was soooooo smooth! The taste was phenomenal!! Slightly sweeter than what I'm used to, but not to sweet to where it overpowered the coffee. It really was perfect on a cold, rainy day. My friend got the Americano and it was great as well!! You get a lot of coffee for the price! We even stopped by again after the reception to get coffees to go! I gotta say the vanilla latte was even better iced. I wish I could take this little gem with me to where I live. Totally recommend stopping by. Bring a book, get some coffee, and enjoy. read more
