Great pumpkin beer and an IPA
    Chris W.

This place is fun!!! Lots of beer choices and really good too!!! We brought our pup Autumn and she languished in the delicious grass. There is a playground for the kids. They have a pumpkin and gourd picking patch and a corn maze. This place rocks!!! Get the Nachos!!! They are delicious! Next time we visit we will get the pizza and wings!! We'll be back!!!

Had such a great afternoon here yesterday! The craft beers were delicious, and there were so many options! Tons of seating and lots of things to do! We played corn hole, explored the corn maze, and played some Uno. We also got some wings, chicken quesadillas, potato wedges, and pizza. Typical bar food, but it hit the spot! Nice staff too! I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Food was pretty mid here. My husband got a burger and barely finished it. For the price he expected more than a frozen patty. I got the Apple Brie and chicken sandwich. It was ok but the chicken was luke warm and tough so assuming also frozen. Overall disappointing food but the beer was ok.

What a cool spot! We just happened to be driving by and thought it looked cool so we pulled in, and we were so happy that we did! We got a flight of beer for $12 and we got to pick any that we wanted. They have a range of beers and ciders. The bartender in the greenhouse was really nice and recommended her favorite beers. Their food menu looked amazing, prices weren't crazy. They have a nice indoor area to sit, but we sat outside and they had a live band. The band was really good and people were dancing. They also had a number of picnic tables out as well. Ample seating and ample parking! We will be back.

This place continues to get better. Their outside patio/lawn area is great. The food is really good and the menu is surprisingly extensive for a brewery. The beer selection is diverse and delicious. Some breweries are a cool hangout spot but their beer is just ok. This place is fun AND they have great beer (and wine too). They also have live music all weekend. 5-star!

My sister treated me to lunch one day at this brewery. The location is perfect, with seating inside and ample outside seating as well. There's ton of parking. The place is perfect for group parties and the food is pretty good. I decided to get nachos which hit the spot. I'll definitely will be coming back in the fall.

Flight and view from the outdoor seating

This brewery has got to have one of the best views around! Once you pay a visit, it's clear why it's called "Harvest Gap". The outdoor seating in the back of the brewery looks out to beautiful mountains and farmland. There is plenty of outdoor seating for you to safely stretch out. There's a covered section to get out of the sun and picnic tables that also have individual umbrellas. They also have a fire pit which I'm sure is great for chillier nights. The bartender was very kind and recommended a flight since I was having trouble deciding. It was a good chance to get a taste of everything. They had a lot of unique flavors including some ciders and some sours with interesting fruit combinations. They even have hard seltzer which was a nice surprise! I enjoyed all but one of the choices I picked for my flight. The one I did not enjoy was a Pilsner mainly because I found it to be a little too hoppy for my taste. That one was a wild card choice for me so I'm not surprised I liked the sweeter choices more. Overall, I really enjoyed the service, the atmosphere, and the prices weren't bad either! I definitely would come back the next time I am in the area!

I'll be coming back because I was surprised at how big this place actually is, especially for a big group. I'm not a huge beer drinker but my son is and he was impressed with the selection. I had a strawberry cider that was perfect for a hot summer afternoon. We also got the Parmesan garlic wings and they were tasty. It was a nice way to spend a lazy Sunday. The service was nice and they even have ice cream for the kids or the kid in all of us.

Lovely brewery with live music. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and definitely a great place to be on a nice day. I loved the beer but wasn't crazy about the pizza, mainly because the crust reminded me a bit of frozen pizza. It's nice that they give you a little beeper that goes off when your pizza is ready so you can enjoy your time instead of loitering around the food pickup area. Would return but would probably order a different food item.

    Wheat field!

Close to the road so easy to spot, this place has decent parking and lots of tables inside and out. When we visited there were about 16 beers with almost every kind represented. Brown ale and Hefeweizen were decent. Panini Reuben and boneless wings did the job and I sit here in the warm April sun listening to country music and looking out over the young wheat field. Life is good here. Staff but overly knowledgeable on beers but with this selection you can't go wrong.

    View from the shade

A beautiful venue with a gorgeous view, sounds perfect for a brewery! Stopped here with two friends and my two dogs, sat outside under the shaded covering which was a necessity on a sunny summer day when the dogs couldn't sit inside. I know it is summer, but I'd been hoping for a darker beer... no luck, I tried the red ale and it was pretty good. I think I ended up getting two. The consistency/color of each pour was very different, which didn't really bother me but was interesting to note. I even clarified with the bartenders that I got the right beer, and they confirmed that this happens sometimes. Still yummy! The bartenders were great and fun to talk to. There was a food truck outside, but also food you could order inside. We all contemplated sharing something, but each of us really ended up wanting a panini (and a different panini at that). We each ordered our panini, I got the turkey panini and it was delicious! Had too much sauce (mustard and mayo), so next time I would definitely ask for light sauce, but I'd order it again! Everyone was very satisfied with their sandwiches. Next time I'm out that way, I'd definitely visit again.

No not the caliber of players, no not the music genre... it's the volume! Three times we've been with friends and the volume inside is almost an assault on the ears (.. and my wife says I'm hard of hearing!). We love, love, love live music. Local artists? Incredible! But, for the volume of the music to become the focus of the day, you'd best be The Rolling Stones! We may have come out to hear someone play, but most importantly we've visited to share good times with our friends, catch up, and laugh. The music should bring ambiance, NOT be the focus - for us its kinship, beer and socializing, which we cannot do with the volume of the music so loud. We will continued to visit Old 690 but will stay away if they have entertainment indoors.

I have been to any number of breweries, primarily on the west coast, but the views here cannot be beaten. There is plenty of parking and many areas to sit down. Tip - call ahead and reserve an outdoor seat in the shade as it can get very hot up there and many of the tables do not have umbrellas. If a manager is a reason this - I think it would be very useful to add additional umbrellas to the lower decks so that patrons will stay longer. It just gets way too hot sitting by an uncovered table. It's "self service" and you order at the counter and pick up your food. They have many options for beers. I think the only non- alcoholic option was cokes. We ordered the cheese pizza which was fine. I mean you don't really come here for the food- it's more about the view , vibe and drinks. Although they did have a great food truck the day we went that sold smash burgers and fries which was really nice. The bathrooms are clean - although one of the soap dispensers and taps were not working. Also- they ran out of paper towels to dry your hands. I think it was just very busy when we went. I did appreciate that they had a stool in the bathrooms for younger kids - which is very helpful. I did see many patrons brought their dogs which is quite nice that you can enjoy some drinks and food with your furry friends. My kids just loved it there. They could run around on the grass and roll down the hills. Like I said - it's just such a great vibe. They also had a band playing which was really nice. I also noticed a little craft market / vintage market next to the restaurant as well. If you are in the area and want some grown up drinks and a vibe - go check this place out.

If you're looking for a place that is loud, with well intentioned but unskilled teenage servers serving hit or miss food at top dollar- this is exactly the place for you. If you want an environment that cares more about selling large quantities of alcohol to already intoxicated people, you've also found the place. The prime rib couldn't have been worse if they tried. It tasted like it had been bathed in liquid smoke and salt water. The meat was over cooked for the medium I ordered and it had the consistency of a cheap sirloin that can only be achieved when you don't take the time to cook it correctly. The au jus was too salty and Smokey to use- literally like a 50/50 mix liquid smoke and saltwater. The baked potato was ok on the inside but the skin and about 1/2" of the outer portions were tough as shoe leather. I don't know how that's even possible. Drink refills were few and far between. The servers are all great kids from the local high school who try hard, but the only reason they got a tip was because they are local kids that my kids know- not because the service was great. Let's talk about the noise for a minute. That place has tables crammed into every inch of that musky smelling old home. When you add in drink servers who are motivated by money and enabled by a lack of leadership- you get a bunch of loud drunks. Throw in live music and you're guaranteed to have a place so loud you can't hear anyone at your table trying to talk. The banana pudding used to be our favorite so we ordered two to go, we ended up throwing one away and the other was left half eaten. It tastes like store bought pudding with cheap whipped topping- nothing else. We have a three strikes rule and this was strike #3, definitely not coming back here. If you want quality food for the masses, Andy's down the street has great pizza for a fraction of the price of this place. Daughter Thai across the street is about the same price point as 1836, but offers consistent quality in their food with an atmosphere perfect for a family dinner. If you're looking for overpriced bar food and a place that doesn't care how many drinks you've had- I think this is the perfect place for you and your fraternity brothers. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer is good and their schnitzel platter is great, just avoid the steaks, prime rib, drinks that need refills, anything with fries and you're fine. This is our third attempt in three years and we are done. Which is sad because there aren't many options in town. Deep breath in...Unless you count the time when they closed for the night unexpectedly and we ordered them via their website because they forgot to turn off their system so they charged us and it took an hour before their system realized nothing was happening and we had to wait almost a week for them to refund the money but the owner emailed it was coming and didn't apologize or explain why they left their orders on when they closed because he really didn't seem to care about it....inhales deeply to catch breath...then this was trip #4. Either way, this place is scratched off the list unless we are looking for a bar with loose moral standards and not food.
