Visited Harpers Ferry Brewing recently and honestly the views alone make this place worth the trip. The brewery sits up on a hill overlooking the mountains and river, and the outdoor seating area is huge with fire pits, picnic tables, and plenty of space to relax. Perfect spot for a weekend afternoon with friends. We ordered a flight of beers, the Mountain Juice IPA, the Hummingbird Hefeweizen, and their Wicked Pumpkin Ale. Also tried the giant pretzel with beer cheese -- both hit the spot after a couple drinks. The beers were fresh, flavorful, and there was a good variety for everyone in our group. The atmosphere had a fun laid-back vibe with live music playing outside. Definitely recommend getting there before sunset because the scenery is incredible. read more

My friend and I had an excellent, relaxing tubing experience down the river and then we drove over the brewery. The pizza was SO delicious! And I loved the inclusion of food trucks. There were plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The ambience is serene, the serve is excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed listening to live music jam Saturday night. This place is amazing! Not only do you get a breathtaking view of the Potomac River, but they offer an abundance of outdoor seating that includes firepits for those colder days/nights. They have a small selection of bar foods, however, I was told food trucks visit regularly. We recieved our food and drinks rather quickly even though they were pretty crowded for a Saturday at opening. They are dog friendly and have a corner where they sell shirts/sweatshirts/hats, We highly recommend and will be returning with our furry family member, Gypsy. Also, we met with one of the team members, Scott, who explained their ziplining, kayaking, and camping options. Great experience all around! read more

"It's in my top 15 best breweries I've ever been to but it definitely has the #1 view." I think I found this place on Yelp 5 years ago while checking for breweries in the area and I was like, "Man, I have to get to this place asap for that view." Well we know what happened 5 years ago and for years after so let's fast forward 5 years and I finally got the chance to experience it. I don't know where to start. I could spend an entire day at this place into the night and sit by that fireplace and look at Harper's Ferry up river. I can only imagine how awesome it was when the Harper House was built up there. To sit in that place and have a glass of whiskey. Damn! I love history and Harper's Ferry and Louden County are overflowing with it. The brewery itself is spectacular and the grounds ever more so. It has plenty of outdoor seating all over the property to enjoy the views of the river and the town itself. We ordered: - Mountain Juice IPA 5/5 - Big Wes Sour 5/5 - Flight: Drop Zone Cider 5/5, Day Hike Cider 5/5, Low Water Lime Lager 5/5, Riverside Kolsch 5/5 We walked up to the counter to order our beers and there were several servers behind the bar waiting for us to order. They were sweet and helpful. I actually told the girl I love IPA's pick one for me and she did a great job. We paid and took our beers outside to enjoy the views up and down the property. We first sat at a picnic table by the fence for a couple minutes before proceeding to walk down to the deck with the best view of Harper's Ferry and took that in for a while before heading back inside because my girlfriend was cold, it was weird weather for late May lol So after finishing our beers we ordered a flight and spinach artichoke dip with chips and sat at a table inside and chatted it up for a bit before heading out. The spinach artichoke dip was just okay but it was overpriced in my opinion for the amount you get plus they give you a small bag of Tostitos chips with it. Either way we enjoyed it because of the vibes. I love this place and we can't wait to come back the next time we are in the area. Pro tip to the owners: I wanted to get a sticker to put on one of my many Hydro Flask's that are loaded with brewery stickers while I was there and there were none to be found. Fantastic views and decent service but that's about it. It shares the parking lot with the adventure center, which is great for allowing extra parking. There is a decent size seating area inside and a large outdoor area overlooking the river. The servers are friendly but the actual menu and process is disjointed- drinks at one place, food at another, merchandise at a third and non alcoholic drinks somewhere in between? The brews are ok. Not terrible but there are definitely better available nearby between Flying Ace, Wheatland Spring and Harvest Gap. The biggest complaint I have is the allowance for smoking. I can maybe understand having a designated outdoor smoking area but allowing it everywhere outside just ruins the place. That alone will keep us from coming back. read more

I mean 5-stars for the views! And for a Friday night at sunset on a beautiful, warm spring day - they still had lots of seating! There was live music and a coveted spot around the fire pit (only like 8 seats! So snag them early if you want that particular spot!) Pizza looked good, but we forgot to order before they close real bummer because we were all hungry, but we're enjoying the beer and views too much to be mindful of the time. We had pizza for our food choice but you could get anything from sandwiches to burgers to steamed crabs (they have a food truck with crabs, oysters, shrimp) to ice cream and popcorn amongst many other things. Their beer and cider choices were plentiful. I had a sweet cider that was delicious and perfect. My friend had a couple flights and then some dark beer, which was good for a taste but not my cup of tea. The views here were incredible and being that it was a nice cool day, the shade wasn't needed as much but it sure felt good in the bright sun. There was live music and also some TVs to watch the end of the Olympics as well as the Orioles game. This is a dog friendly brewery anywhere but inside. A very nice place to gather near Harper's Ferry. Harper's Ferry Brewery opened in 2018 on the site of the former Blue Ridge Rod and Gun Club. It is located on a hill on the south side of the Potomac and to the east of Harper's Ferry (city). Today it is a very nice sprawling location that provides good food, a range of drinks, and wide views in a relaxed setting.. It seemed pretty easy to find and had plenty of parking, a main building with a bar for drinks, an inside window for food, and a small area for souvenirs. There seem to be a lot of eating areas to include tables indoor along with several outdoor seating areas that look out over the town and river. I had a hand-cooked pizza that was very good, some chips that were just okay, and excellent freshly made guacamole offered outside for a small extra charge. The brewery is family- and dog-friendly with lots of room to move around. Staff were friendly, and the place stayed clean even though it was busy. A practical touch was the pizza box recovery rack near the trash cans, which kept things tidy. The one challenge that I observed was the terrain. The parking and seating can require traversing up and down the hill that provides the great views so it may be challenging for some visitors. Overall, it was a very nice place to take a break, have a drink, a bit to eat and relax with friends while enjoying a great view. read more

The ciders are very sweet and taste strong--I'm not much of a beer person but I've heard a lot of people raving about the beer quality here. It's also good to know that their ciders are equally well-made. There are two ordering stations along with food such as pretzels, ice cream, and they serve burgers at the truck outside. It also helps that the view is incredibly nice during the sunset. It made for a very relaxing late afternoon/early evening. It gets very crowded but the staff are efficient and quick. Beers & Views- a great idea, but just know you're paying for it! We stopped at the brewery after hiking Maryland Heights nearby and were very much looking forward to a nice cold brew as the reward- Initial impression was a bit meh- as parking was randomized chaos- they have large open fields available, but share lot space with the ecoadventures tours as well, which created a bit of a free for all- even finding a spot didn't reduce the anxiety, as walking through the parking lot felt like Frogger with impatient drivers Inside the brewery was massive, and on a Saturday very crowded. The one positive, they had ample staff bartenders available so our wait time was pretty short- and the friendly bartender was nice about taking our time to ask questions about brews & try samples- but oof- they don't have prices posted anywhere, and while they had reasonable tasty IPAS- it was a bit discouraging to discover our beers were 9$ each-I can't imagine what flights would be- at the higher price, with so many great brewery options in the area I'd opt for lower price points over chaotic parking and crowded view ah, yes I forgot to mention, they do offer ample seating- picnic tables, chairs, high tops, decks, and more- but it's a very well attended brewery, so we found ourselves sharing a table with other random patrons- not quite the date night hang out and relax vibe we expected- so yes, great view, but at a cost of price, parking, and crowdedness- nearby there are more spacious farms offering more intimacy at reasonable prices read more

There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and I especially liked the Adirondack chairs outdoors. They have a large parking lot that can fill up on the weekend. The beer selection has great diversity. I really enjoyed the Hefeweizen. They also have a pizza shop indoors and a food truck outside for hungry visitors. I had a great time here. There was SO much seating. We enjoyed sitting under the covered area near the outside bar listening to the live music. It's really a beautiful spot with views of the river. That was the most efficient ordering system I've seen at a brewery. Dogs aren't allowed inside so it's nice there is an outdoor bar. I was disappointed in the cheese pizza- it was $17 and was full of air bubbles. Outside, the foliage could be cut back significantly to have a better view of the river. My husband loves IPAS and was let down there was only one but he enjoyed the one he had. I enjoyed the Pale Ale and the Blonde. Pizza in a timed conveyer oven was raw in the middle twice and staff admittedly claim they can't alter their automated cook times. When showing them raw pizza dough twice the response was would you like another made the same way, cooked all of the way or well done is not an option in their automated kitchen.
