I am always skeptical of a large varied menu in a big space and new owners especially in this town but harvest kitchen is doing a really good job of making some really good food. It's not fine dining, the space is probably too big for them but the staff was very nice and simple, everything came out quickly and orderly. You could bit into the perfectly crisp onion rings and not pull the onion out, the shrimp tacos were chopped up for ease, fish tacos were crispy and the Tokyo burger was solid. It won't be some amazing dining experience but you will leave full and satisfied and that's all I can ask for.

On the Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend, 4 of us met here for breakfast. We arrived at 10 and were seated and greeted by a server right away. He was there when we needed him and super friendly. Our visit was right after their grand opening, I was super excited to try the food. Since I was visiting I had to go Springfield staple creation and get a breakfast shoe. It's a bread, meat, and potatoes covered in cheese sauce dish. For the breakfast version you also get to add eggs! Here the bread is buttermilk biscuits, the meat I choose sausage, the potatoes were large diced, and smothered in cheese sauce. I got my eggs scrambled. It was delicious!! The cheese sauce is the part you must nail to make a good shoe, and the sauce here is good. Seasoned nicely. My only ding on the food were a few of the larger potato chunks weren't fully cooked, but that was the only thing I noticed. When it's time to pay, they have one station at the hostess stand. When we left around 11 a wait had formed along with a line surrounding the hostess's station. I can see this becoming a pain point for customers as business picks up and you have a line of people trying to pay and exit. And a line of people trying to check in and be seated. All of my friends enjoyed their food too. I will definitely return when I'm back in SPI. And I wish the young entrepreneur owner the best of luck!

Was sat down quickly and ordered right away! The food came out hot, fresh and delicious. The restaurant is beautiful also. Service was friendly and couldn't ask for a better experience!!

Tried this restaurant for the first time in the mid-afternoon and we were very impressed. Nice atmosphere and great service. Great presentation and tasted very good! fresh peach toast was the summer special for brunch but/and we ordered it actually as an appetizer along with the bruschetta. My entree was the fish tacos --not sure the type of fish but it was tender and flaky despite being fried. The rice was also cooked just right. My husband had the steak salad which appeared very fresh. It could have used a bit more of the flavored sauce of the steak but we always lean toward the heavier-handed version of seasoning. We had iced tea (although the specialty drink selections looked good) and both commented that it tasted like "real" brewed tea. We will be back again soon for an evening meal experience!

Went there this morning with high hopes...Big mistake. Sure, the building looks nice, and the ambiance tries hard, but that's where the positives end. Our server looked completely overwhelmed, like it was their first time ever speaking to another human being. Orders were taken with a blank stare and zero confidence. Then came the clown show: my wife's food showed up a solid ten to fifteen minutes before mine. By the time they finally stumbled out with my plate, hers was stone cold. We had to send it back, which should be embarrassing for any restaurant, let alone one that's still trying to make a name for itself. It's genuinely baffling how lazily this place is being run. You'd think a new restaurant would at least pretend to care during its first year. Apparently not. Start by replacing your cook.

    Kids pizza. Wasn't fully cooked.

Beautiful inside, not easily handicapped accessible. The food tastes and looks like frozen food. The pizza wasn't done cooking. The chicken and croffel had nonglavor and was stale. My husband and daughter ordered a burger and it was over done but they said it tasted fine. The fries tasted frozen then reheated.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was very nice inside. I liked the way the layout was. Our waitress was also very nice and stopped us on the way out because I forgot something. The chicken and croffles were fire. I've never had a croffle before so that was interesting. The chicken was gasssss.

Let me just start with Kimberly! She is an amazing bartender, and server who was very attentive…read more She was also very, very polite! Always a plus. The place isn't much inside, but it isn't bad either. Plenty of room for partys, and you won't feel crowded at all. OK, the food. I had a side Caesar salad which was delicious! Then came the pizza. I ordered a small chicago deep dish with meatball, and green peppers. I only got through two pieces, but it was pretty good. My only issue is that there was not nearly enough meat in my pizza, but plenty of green peppers. I would suggest meat choices only to go with the tons of cheese, and sauce. I'll still be going back when I'm in the mood, because even though it isn't Lou's, or Giordano's, it's pretty scrumptious.

July 25th 2026 **Very Disappointing Experience at Nancy's…read morePizza in Springfield** I normally don't take the time to write negative reviews, but our experience with Nancy's Pizza in Springfield was extremely disappointing. We had just got done traveling a **12-hour drive day**. We stopped because we simply wanted to grab a pizza, after a long and tiring day with 2 very hungry kiddos. Unfortunately, we were given the **wrong pizza**. We didn't realize it was the wrong pizza until after we had already eaten a piece. Once we discovered the mistake, we contacted the restaurant expecting a simple solution. Kids only wanted cheese not a meat pizza., Instead, we were told that we had to **drive all the way back to the restaurant (15 minute trip 1 way) and return the pizza we had already taken home and started eating** before they would give us the correct pizza. We made the trip back, returned the pizza, and then had to wait for and pick up the replacement. What made this even more frustrating was the complete lack of concern for the situation. We tried calling and reaching out, and we didn't feel like anyone was taking responsibility for the inconvenience. We explained my mom took a piece, and kids won't eat cheese and two hungry kids, yet there was very little effort to make the situation right in a reasonable way. They eventually offered us a **free pizza for another visit**, but we don't live in the area, so that really wasn't helpful. We didn't want a free pizza another time -- **we simply wanted the pizza we had ordered that day.** there was no compensation for thier mistake, no concern for our drive back (15 minutes each way) There is also a food-safety concern with being instructed to bring back food that had already been delivered to and handled by a customer. Illinois has adopted the FDA Food Code, and Section 3-306.14 addresses returned food and states that food that has been served or sold and has been in the possession of a consumer generally cannot be offered again for human consumption. Illinois inspection guidance also specifically lists the proper disposition of returned, previously served, reconditioned and unsafe food as a food-safety requirement. ([Illinois Department of Public Health][1]) That makes it especially concerning that we were specifically instructed to bring back a pizza that had already been taken home and eaten from. Mistakes happen. We completely understand that. **What matters is how a business handles the mistake.** In our case, we were inconvenienced multiple times, had to make an unnecessary trip back, had hungry children waiting, and felt like our situation simply wasn't important to the staff. They should have given compensation for all the drive back and fourth! For us, this wasn't about getting something free. It was about receiving the correct order and having the restaurant take responsibility for its mistake. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not return to Nancy's Pizza Springfield.
