Traditional beef/lamb gyro and tzatziki on the side
    Alexis A.

I'm so happy that Pita Greek has opened up in Nanuet NY! I ordered the traditional beef/lamb gyro with tzatziki on the side and it was delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. Inside the gyro came tomatoes, red onions and feta. The service was pleasant and ordering online was easy. They have street parking and parking in the back of the building. The atmosphere is light and pretty. It was also very clean and it would be a cool place to sit on a summer night.

Worst food experience ever! Got massive stomach pain afterwards. Falafel is one of my favorite food, and I've had falafels made by people from just about every corner in the middle east, including by middle eastern friends and colleagues. I am a lactose-intolerant vegetarian, and usually falafel is vegan, with the exception of liquidy tzatziki (if one asks for it). At this place, there is no other choice of saucing - not even the de rigueur tahini sauce - but a thick, gooey "tzatziki" that smells weird (like goat cheese, which makes me sick). I scraped most of that thick goo off my pita bread, and even hogged some of my husband's clean pita bread. But the falafels, made with chickpeas and zucchini (!), tasted awful too. We barely finished our plates before running away. I asked for a glass of water for my lactose pill, but it never came.

We catered Chicken Souvlaki, Rice, Pita, Greek Salad, Falafel and Spanakopita. Everything was OUTSTANDING! We are located in Saddle Brook. Nick delivered and set-up everything flawlessly! My colleagues kept asking where is this from!! The Greek Pita....try it you will NOT be disappointed!! His wife, Alexandra is a doll!

The gyro was very tasty, generous filling, also the staff was helpful and friendly. The outside seating was nice too.

Service is excellent, and they really do try to make you happy. The geek salad was good, a bit too heavy on the dressing for me, I would order the dressing on the side next time. The chicken platter was a bit too salty but overall it tasted good. The lentil soup was really disappointing, almost no lentils, heavy on the celery and carrots and extremely heavy on tomato paste. The overall texture was really watery. I will not order it again. The lemon soup was much better, it has bits of chicken and carrots with orzo. For good lentil soup try The Greek Village on 303 in NJ

Found this while I was in the area and gave it a try! I didn't even take a pic of my food because the decor was so cute!! Service was very nice and quick it's not a traditional waiter service which is fine with me! You order and have a seat and the staff bring your order. It's more of a cafeteria style which is cute also. The GYRO was delicioussssss one of the best I've ever had! The Greek salad was always amazing! Loved it here! Really good find and I would go back!

My Over all rating = Meh (Barely acceptable, but no huge complaints either) Service - meh Food - meh Facility - meh Protip: Greek Village in Northvale, NJ seems better rated although I haven't been there yet. That's my next stop for Greek. It's 15min north from PGK. If you go inside its furnished in modern industrial type of decor. Having said that, the restaurant wasn't well run. When I walked in there were very few customers, but few tables were left dirty with dishes and food bits still on them. The floor in similar fashion looked like it hasn't been swept for a bit. I can see paper strip from the straw, gum rapper, and some food. One table near the door had a completely dried out grains of rice. Yes, if you are Asian then you know. It's the kind of rice that hurts your foot because your son/daughter left on the floor the last night at dinner and didn't care to pick up. (Asian problems) Seriously, it had to be there for half a day. No one cared to clean this ? Given the amount of business it had at at the time (not much), it would have taken one person 5 min to fix the aforementioned problems. It showed me that the employees/managers didn't really care. Attitude of the employees that talked to me was consistent with what I saw about the facility. They weren't rude, but just seemed disinterested, disconnected and just blah. In terms of food, I got a a decent Pork Souvlaki in pita. I would rate it 6.5 out of 10 or C-. My pork was unevenly cooked. It had a nice char on one side and just light brown on the other. It was just short of being burnt on one side. I didn't love the Tzatziki sauce that was on there either. I don't know about Greek food that much, but I didn't think it was well made. Either that or it wasn't freshly made. Finally, the only veg that was in there was red onion and tomatoes. I usually see lettuce of some sort of lettuce at all other greek places. So....not too hip to go back, but I may go back if I really crave greek and I don't want to drive more than 10 min to get it.

We ordered the chopped salad which was amazing ( I took a photo of the ingredients because I want to make it at home hahaha), I ordered for me chicken skewers platter, then my hubby ordered beef gyro. Everything was superb! We ended with the baklava which was AMAZING!!! Not very sweet, like they usually are, and it had a lot of walnut inside. Obviously it was home made, I felt it right away. Let me tell you that we had a great dinner. The service ( thanks Oscar) was also great, and the only regret that I have is that we don't live nearby ( we are from New York City) so we can visit more often.

Tino's Artichoke is a tasty start - an artichoke dip with feta and sun-dried tomatoes served with pita chips. We'll usually get the mixed grill (but subbing lamb in for the beef, way more flavor). Or, a mix of grilled octopus, grilled calamari and a salad. Everything is very flavorful and goes great with the pita bread. Our calamari was a little chewy this last visit, which surprised me. It's never like that. Octopus is always tender and comes with tasty charred onions, peppers, caperberries. Other delicious dishes here - chicken shish, the steak, gyro, grilled shrimp, lamb shish. Lately they've been decorating tables with fresh flowers - nice touch and complements the candles.

My wife had the stuffed cabbages and falafel which she said was great.

I hadn't had mediterranean in a while and I'm not head over heels for the place near me so I wanted to try something new. This place seemed decent enough. The ingredients were fresh and that dressing was lovely. It was a salad I actually enjoyed instead of regretting the entire time I glared at my coworkers who ordered real shit with envy. The hummus was also very creamy, authentic hummus with a slightly different taste than I am used to but head and shoulders above any store bought bullshit. Everyone else said good shit about their food. I tried one of GF's falafel from her platter and it was really good. My only complaint is for $24 or whatever it is, i would expect more than a few falafel balls and one side. Kinda a rip off. But everything tasted really, really good.
