Mr. Ziff keeps finding a way to get my comments removed. For now, in my experience, I would say exercise caution when hiring Mr. Ziff. Like someone else mentioned here in the reviews, I too was yelled at, pressured to have surgery that it was not necessary to have in the timeline I was told re. the insurance claim. Somehow my settlement went from $20,000 to now $11,000+, for what?, submitting a few receipts? Mr. Ziff could have advised me that my car insurance only had a $20,000 limited coverage for getting hit as a pedestrian by an uninsured driver. In that case I would not have hired a lawyer that would take over 30%. Since then, Mr. Ziff knowing, as it has been explained to him, that I have lost thousands more than was allotted with the injury and the ultimately needless surgery I went through because of his "advice" and even still he felt justified taking so much, where is there any human compassion even? read more

Harvey Ziff handled my injury claim to my utmost satisfaction. He and his staff are professional, courteous, and very attentive to detail. My case was extremely complicated and he represented me flawlessly. In December 2016 I was injured in a auto collision and the other party was 100 percent at fault. My vehicle was totaled and I was taken to an ER by ambulance. Although the police report was cut and dry about who was at fault, my medical costs were a hot mess about who was responsible for payment. I have a pre-existing medical condition that necessitated extensive testing and treatment the day of the accident and the months after. The ER bill was over 118k and that was only for one day. When my treatment was complete the printed medical records were over 500 pages and literally four inches thick. Additionally the billing department did not include itemized codes for the insurance company to process. Things became tremendously involved once the other party's auto insurance company, the hospital, and my auto and medical insurance providers all refused to budge on who would pay for the final costs because the medical bills were sky high for a injury claim with no broken bones. Mr. Ziff put in a tremendous amount of effort to get my claim settled. I almost made the mistake of representing myself after the accident because I was in pain, frustrated and not thinking clearly. Fortunately I did not make that foolish decision and hired Mr. Ziff instead. My father was hit by a car while biking to Palo Alto library in Jan 2018. Harvey and daughter took the case in Feb (?) 2018, and resigned in late 2019. The Harveys did nothing else, but a couple calls with me/my dad to have me getting the police report/all medical bills. All calls are encouraging and professional tho. Now none wants to take the case partially due to 2yr limit. I contacted other party's insurance, was told they contacted Harvey since 2018, got no reply b4 resignation in 2019! // 5mins after I posted my yelp review, Harvey called and ask for deletion! I guess he must be a super Yelper. I retained many corporate lawyers in the valley and across the country in the past 20+yrs in my day job. We didn't go with lawyer friends referral and hired Harvey due to his great Yelp review and his Stanford Law degree. Looking back, both failed us, badly! In the 18 months Harvey has the case, he did nothing but a couple of pleasant calls with us, and asked us to get and pay for the police report/medical reports. After Harvey resignation, our referral lawyer can't take he case due to time limitations, but suggested us to contact CDI- California Department of Insurance, and the case is currently still under review - I just had an email exchange with CDI specialist today. After CDI involvement, I received a letter in October 2019 from CSAA insurance claim supervisor stating " we asked your (former) attorney for his theory of liability and he provided no response. Then, a denial letter was sent to your attorney on Feb 1, 2019..." We the client were not aware of the denial letter at all even after Harvey's resignation in the summer 2019!
