After picking up my husband at LAX, we stopped at the Hash Restaurant in Playa Vista. One google for "hash," and you come up with a lot of results that aren't a diner. Anyway, we were hungry, and I wanted to pancakes. Atmosphere: The Hash Restaurant has a very unique setup. It's located in the Bluffs, which has housing and a huge parking garage. Read: you do have to pay for parking in the garage, but the Hash Restaurant did say they can validate parking. They have a few signs around the parking garage, making it easier to find. Honestly, I don't think we would have found the restaurant without the signs.  The day we went, it was pouring rain. I didn't know anything about the restaurant. We walked in, and it was just a kitchen. I thought: oh no, we aren't planning takeout. We could eat in the car, I guess. Luckily, they had an option for sitting in the next building. There is also outdoor seating, but the pouring rain made that a no go. Food: I knew I wanted pancakes but wasn't sure what kind. The Hash Restaurant has all sorts of breakfast items, including pancakes, omelets, waffles and more. A few things that stuck out to me on the Hash Restaurant menu: Carrot cake waffle topped with cream cheese drizzle Country Fair French Toast: Bread Pudding Dipped In Funnel Cake Batter, Deep Fried. Covered w/ Tres Leches Sauce Cinnamon Roll Pancakes topped w/ Cream Cheese Drizzle Bebop Bowl: Asian Style Brown Rice, 2 Over Easy Eggs, Choice of Protein, Spinach, Green Onions, Sauteed Mushrooms, Pickled Veggies Bagel with lox: choice of Bagel, Lox, Cream Cheese, Red Onions & Tomatoes Eventually, I finally decided on the Cinnamon roll pancakes. I came in wanting pancakes, but everything looked and sounded so good. The cinnamon roll pancakes tasted good and were one of the better ones I've had recently. They were soft and fluffy, and they were filling. I would definitely order them again.  Service: Everyone at the Hash Restaurant was friendly. The person who took our order and brought out food over was excellent, plus the food came out within 10 minutes. I have no complaints. Cost: Overall Thoughts: Yes. I enjoyed my meal at the cash Restaurant and would love to return. It's just a few miles from Los Angeles airport and a great low-key restaurant if you need some food. read more

To be honest I was a big fan of Hash but after this experience I am incredibly disappointed. I eat and cook a lot of foods with Mexican flavors so I got the Killer Quesadilla with an extra side of red and green house salsa. This is a $19 menu option with 2 x $3.50 sides of salsa, so I am expecting fresh, vibrant flavors and quality ingredients. When I tasted the red salsa my immediate gut reaction was nausea, it appears to be fermenting with visible bubbles, it does not taste like any red salsa I have ever had. If it was not spoiled, then it is simply a terrible salsa. The green salsa was not much better, and this is inexcusable in LA and at this price point. Putting aside that I have now wasted $7 on terrible salsa, I take a bite of the quesadilla and it also tastes STRANGE. I start picking apart the ingredients like the caramelized onions to figure out what is going on and again, in my opinion, these are not fresh ingredients, they seem to have been prepared days in advance, with no regard for their freshness. I have made the same style quesadilla with fresh ingredients at home and it tastes nothing like what I got from Hash. I am completely ready to admit that perhaps the food is totally fine and is totally fresh, but in any case it was bad enough for me that I threw it all away, and now I'm left with stomach pain and nausea from the two bites that I had..... I rarely leave bad reviews but in this case I feel like these mistakes are so egregious that they deserve to be called out. My recommendation if you go here is only order items that have no chance of being prepared in advance. Eggs, Pancakes, Toasts, etc, and definitely avoid the salsa. read more

The food here was so good. The ordering experience can be a little off sometimes, but the quality of the service, and the quality of the food are never in question. I came on a Sunday morning. There was plenty of space in the parking garage and once you get into the first level of the garage, Hash is not really hard to find. Hash validates, which is a major plus. Ordering was easy. You look at the menu (which is pretty extensive) outside and then place your order on the inside. I got the plain Belgian waffle. Our orders came out within 10 minutes. I wanted to like the waffle more than I did but unfortunately I ended up wishing I ordered something else. I also don't think it's worth the $13 price tag. By no means did it taste bad. I think I was just expecting the waffle to be thicker and made with less spices. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back and trying other items, though! read more

To much goodness to say about this spot. Where do I start! The service is always good. They are clean, fast and delicious food. My husband, daughter and I have been coming here for about 2 years and this place never disappoints. They even got better and now have indoor seating which looks really nice and its comfy. It might be pricey but worth it. They give good quantities for which you have left overs for later or next days breakfast. In my book that's a good price for which ends up being 2 meals from 1 dish. My wife and I dropped off a family member for a medical procedure and had some time to kill. We came here for breakfast. First, it's located in the middle of a group of business buildings, so parking is iffy. You might have to pay. We found street parking but it was Wednesday mid-morning. Second, there is no indoor seating. It's a small kitchen with patio seating. You order your food and wait, or they bring it outdoors to your table. That said, we both enjoyed our dishes. I got the Hash on Hash with turkey sausage and Havarti cheese. They use tater tots instead of potatoes or fries, and I found that refreshing. Got there and was greeted and seated and waited for about 3-4 minutes before a young man asked for my order and I started with a coffee with cream and sugar, well after a good 4-5 minutes he returned to take my order. A couple visits in now and I can safely say that Hash has become our go-to brunch spot! Among the savory items, definitely give the El Gordo breakfast burrito and Killer Quesadilla with braised shredded beef a try, the latter is particularly gargantuan and will satisfy even the hangriest stomach. Each bite is a meaty, cheesy, and creamy mouthful and the daring can even throw a tot or two in there for some crunch. The bagel with lox is also tasty, although the bage itself is a bit of a midget compared to most places. For sweets, the pancakes are not to be missed and just a single one for $5 on the side is massive. The banana passion is a tasty combination of mellow banana sweetness and bite from the citrus. Those who are super ravenous will love the French toast - our banana nutella version was insanely huge (notice a trend?) with what looked like double-cut brioche thoroughly smeared in the chocolatey spread. Fluffy, sweet, incredibly decadent...just one of the four halves popped a heavy squat in my belly. Pick-up has been a breeze both times and if you're interested in eating there, just note that the outdoor patio is in a narrow alleyway with fairly limited, somewhat cramped seating (ie. not so COVID-19 friendly). Restaurant is tucked between these large office buildings. Make sure to park in the parking structure and ask for validation at the restaurant! It is a pretty standard breakfast burrito filled with eggs, potatoes, cheese, protein of choice (I chose ham) and green onions. The phyllo dough crust added an extra layer of crunch that worked really well. "100% maple syrup" they claim. That's funny, because I've never seen real maple syrup served in large squeeze bottles on every table, it is obviously fake syrup. It can be a little hard to find because it's in a office building area but there are some signs pointing to Hash and their neighboring Greek restaurant Rodini Park. A few weeks ago, I was in LA for a little vacation. My friends and I searched yelp for a local breakfast spot and stumbled upon Hash. The pictures looked great and they had decent reviews, so we lyfted over. They only have outdoor seating at this location, that seemed to be a COVID-vacated office park. One of the more cool things to see was the gigantic Kas exhibit. I ordered the french toast, side of turkey sausage and orange juice. I can't remember the exact name but one was a breakfast croissant sandwich and the other was more of a traditional breakfast, both with tator-tots. Everything was made to order, but it took a while for my to come out, so it wasn't hot. My friends received their order well before I did. They were almost done eating by the time my food came out. So, I definitely assumed mine would be too hot to handle, but in fact, it was too cold to hold. LOL! As far as flavor--the french toast lacked flavor and was very underwhelming. but it was a huge portion. All in all, I wasn't too impressed. I didn't order the vegetarian option but love that the falafel is an option cause I have friends I want to take here that is. On the side we ordered the Cinnimon roll pancakes and oh my they were so big we couldn't finish all the food. 3 LARGE stacked pancakes topped with icing and Cinnamon glaze. I wasn't impressed but not disappointed. They don't have many tables here and you order and find a table yourself so I'd recommend having someone in your party find the table, save it, then order. The service is minimal - we had to get our own menus and place our order at the counter. You might also have to clean up the take yourself since there's such fast turnover. They brought the food out but after that, no one came to check in on us. Perhaps that's the idea? The place was certainly packed with people so it seems like others liked it. The Belgium Waffle was good, really was. However, for this price, there needs to be SOMETHING. Presentation? Side? Even just a garnish? Wifi maybe? Restroom? A napkin bigger and stronger than a square of brown toilet paper that smells like petroleum?Anything? Boastful ingredients (organic or something)? Real plate and silverware rather than wasteful paper and plastic?... You step into a "messy closet" to order then wait outside on the concrete. They bring you a piece of cardboard with one waffle on it. And flimsy plastic fork. This is an eight dollar experience claiming a twenty dollar wrapping. The food (at least the Belgium) passes muster. So if they are asking for these kinds of prices from people, fine, but then please show the equivalent respect -- otherwise it feels like gouging. I guess this poor choice is my own fault. On a recent trip to LA, I wanted a non-hotel breakfast. I went on line to look at menus. I was intrigued by the menu offered at Hash in Playa Vista. The menu looked extensive and they offered a Chilaquiles breakfast. I was so disappointed the last time I ordered this in a restaurant, I wanted to give it a try. So I drove over and parked in a nearly empty multi-story parking garage. I found the restaurant and discovered there was only outdoor seating. It was a nice day and I was okay with that. Normally, when I order Chilaquiles, I always ask for them with shredded chicken. If is a favorite combination of mine. So, at HASH they offer a Chiquitas & Grigos Chilaquiles dish with a protein of your choice. I asked for shredded chicken, but chicken was not a protein they served. I looked at the list of proteins and asked for the "roasted Turkey breast". I thought that should be very similar to chicken. Boy, was I wrong! I was actually served my Chilaquiles with diced Turkey cold cuts! The interesting thing is I recall the dish was quite tasty with the tortilla chips in chili verde sauce with scrambled eggs, pickled onions and the sauces, but I could not get over the fact the roasted Turkey breast was diced deli Turkey. I did eat about half of the dish, but just avoided the diced deli meat! I was really disappointed in my decision to try the HASH restaurant due to this dish. To add further insult to injury, I could not have been there for more than 30-40 and I had to pay $6 in the mostly empty parking garage. NEVER again! read more

We recently had brunch at Hash on a couple of occasions and were happy with the food here. They have outdoor dining that worked well for us. The construction nearby can be an eye sore but hopefully that is temporary. Parking in the garage was convenient too. We ordered the following dishes: Pancakes - nice and fluffy! El Gordo burrito - huge burrito and tasted very good! Bagel with Lox - the salmon was nicely cured and had a good taste Butter Croissant - tasted good by itself and also as a nice side with the coffee. Little tricky to find, but glad I was feeling persistent the morning I met with a former coworker here for a late breakfast. Just know, that when you're driving on Bluff Creek, either look for the signs, or look for the big blue Elmo statue, in front of the parking structure (where you park with 90 minute validation). Walk in, order, find a seat then wait for your food to be delivered. Staff is friendly as the owner/manager as they stopped at the table a few times checking in and clearing tables. I ordered the Hash on Hash with an extra protein. It was great and filling and if you know me, I can eat. I want to clarify, this isn't a sit down restaurant. To me, it's an outdoor cafe that's situated for the employees in the surrounding businesses or for those lucky enough to hear about it. I've had some fantastic meals here over the last few months, and the carrot-pineapple waffle is truly outstanding. That said, the prices have gone sky high, and I can't substantiate the value vs. the cost. Said waffle is now at $15.75, which is easily the most expensive waffle I've ever had. Yes, it's delicious. No, it's not a $15+ waffle. Sorry. And for $12.75, the Acai Bowl was the smallest of its kind that I've ever seen or experienced. Freaking tiny. The fruit was either over-ripe (the banana) or frozen to the point of hurting my teeth (pineapples and strawberries). By the time the fruit became edible, the Acai began to melt. C'mon! I moved to LA just recently, and in my first month here I tried desperately to find some spots I could regularly go to. What I found was that a lot of the highly rated restaurants in LA were either: 1) as bland as Karen's quinoa casserole or 2) portioned for gerbils or 3) reminded me that sadly cocaine is still a prominent problem in LA county I was about to give up on my quest to find a restaurant worthy of LA's double dollar sign minimum until I finally discovered this place.
