Services always good and on point. The lunch special with a drinking and tip is usually under $20 per person so this would be a very good buffet any day of the week.

There was a hibachi station where you could choose meats like thin beef, chicken, and pork, along with veggies, spices, and sauces. It was nice since i wanted to get my protein up without all the oil lol. Now I don't know if the meats are very fresh, but the station was cold so that's good. The hot foods I had were also pretty good and warm for buffet. My favorite was the pan fried dumplings, but again not the best obviously. In regards to the sushi, I didn't even wanna touch the raw nigiri for my own safety; salmon had no visible fat lines, and tuna didn't look appetizing at all, almost grey. I got some pieces of the rolls, unagi, and inari and those were actually better than i expected. The rolls are pretty close to tokyo one in plano, or osaka in addison. The inari was nice and sweet, but the unagi was kind of just getting carried by the sauce lol. Service wasn't the best, got one refill the entire time, and was fasting that day. The place is decently clean and nothing to really complain about there. Overall for a big easy family outing, not bad, but would not eat here again myself

I spent an hour today with Andrew & Theresa, Dining Service VIPs, who gave me a tour and a lot of information. Eagle Landing is strategically located across the street from UNT's new visitors center. It's $8.20 + tax at the door, anyone can eat there, all-you-can-to-eat. Students can use their Meal Plan just like the other dining halls. There was a steady flow of students who were loving every minute of this adventure. I was told that it's been so popular that it's common for a line to start at the door and wrap around the block. This is a food-hall style setting, meaning you visit any station you want, find a place to sit, stay as long as you like. There are 7 restaurants: WOOD GRILL (opening soon). Food cooked over a wood grill. AVENUE A (open) is homestyle favorites like fried chicken, mac & cheese, smoked BBQ, plus breakfast all day. LEAF (open) is plant-based featuring greens grown at Mean Green Acres, a non-GMO hydroponic garden, as well as fresh veggies, salads, soups, and plenty of 100% plant-based options. La Mesa (open) is a Latin fusion like street tacos, burritos, and tortillas made from scratch. BAMBOO (opening soon) Asian-inspired wok plus stir-fried rice & noodle dishes. CLARK BAKERY (open) is exactly what it sounds like! Yes, fresh pastries, warm cookies, cobblers, in-house homemade ice cream (shakes too!) and more. CIBO FRESCO (open) serving pizza, calzones, stromboli, and a daily pasta toss. I did notice that there is more space available for more restaurants, nice! This two story building offers numerous seating spaces. There are tables, booths, bar tops, and benches. There are quaint quiet areas, as well as, wide-open, European style seating. Social distancing is in place and enforced (notice the green ribbons).

I wasn't planning to write a review, but this place left such a bad taste in my mouth (pun…read moreintended) that I still get angry thinking about it. In March 2019, my dad and I both became extremely ill after eating here. I woke up at 3 a.m. with a very high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. I was sick for hours and continued dealing with nausea for nearly five days. We both ended up in the ER, and I required IV fluids and monitoring. It was, without question, the sickest I have ever been. I reported this restaurant to city code, and the health department was there within an hour of my complaint. Below is the report from the health department: "Anonymous, Our inspection of the New China King Buffet did not go well, and the restaurant has been closed until it can come up to basic health standards. In short, the kitchen needs a thorough cleaning, temperature rules were not being obeyed, and practices within the kitchen were not up to modern standards. Again, I am sorry that you and your family became ill, but I do appreciate you taking the time to inform us of the problem. Please let me know if there is anything more that I can provide you. Respectfully, Kevin Cummings | Chief Health Inspector Department of Development Services | Consumer Health Division" What concerns me even more is that the restaurant appeared to reopen almost immediately. I'm not sure how that process works, but it was surprising given the severity of the violations. When I later filed a BBB complaint, the restaurant responded with claims that I showed up the next day to argue with them. That is completely false. I didn't leave my house for a week for being so ill. They also suggested only my dad was affected, which is also untrue--we were both seriously ill. This makes me question whether there were other incidents they may be confusing this with. They even threatened legal action over my review, which I find unreasonable. Customers have every right to share their honest experiences. Based on what happened to us and the pattern of reviews since, I would strongly urge others to be cautious when eating here.

But I was headed home and wanted to grab something en route for the family to eat. I glanced and saw a high rating and figured I can't go wrong with Indian food. Anyplace I've eaten had alway been good! So, I ordered Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and Goat Curry through Yelp app. I was 5 minutes away and food was ready for pickup when I arrived, which pleased me but also made me wonder if it wasn't fresh. Nevertheless I arrived home and the food was packaged well and that was the end of the good experience. Surprisingly the food was rather terrible. And I have NEVER had bad Indian food. The Biryani was bland and hot for hot sake, like spicy and flavorless. The Nan was thick and rubbery. The tandoori was dry and nasty, like having a sour taste to it. My husband had the goat and said the sauce wasn't good. Overall I don't recommend this place. Seriously I hate I wasted $50+ with them and I honestly wish I could get my money back. Two thumbs way down. Save yourself and your money! Eat someplace else.
