We don't venture out to Prosper much, but it's good to know there's a solid restaurant in the heart of Prosper. The Gin is casual dining with comfort food and amazing staff. We tried the Chicken Fried Steak, Pesto and Mozarella Sandwich, and Grilled Chicken Salad. The best thing on the table were the crinkle French Fries. Oh my goodness they were fantastic!! Not sure how this place has a 4.0. We waited 47 minutes for food. And we counted 6 customers in the entire establishment. I brought people from out of town and decided to go here for breakfast. We did not receive our waters until the food came out and didn't receive our alcoholic beverages until we had already paid for our meals. Our waiter was too concerned with talking to a girl that walked in instead of taking care of his tables. Food was gross and made us sick almost instantly. The alcoholic beverages tasted as if they were made in a dishwasher and were very highly priced compared to the tavern a few doors down. Thinking of visiting? Don't. Plaint and simple. We come here for the fried chicken sandwiches. Truly the best I've had in the Prosper/Celina area. Service is always friendly too! If you happen to come on a night w live music in the back, even better. It gets pretty loud near the stage, so keep that in mind when being seated. read more

Impecable service. You are greeted bt everyone, everyone asks how you are doing, and on your way out every single person you walk by tells you to have a good night or thank you for coming. Aside from that, food is great, all cooked to order and has veryyyyyy generous portions. I mean the chicken fried steak is as big as your face! I had the fish and chips with a cold dark beer and it really hit the spot. Other folks in my party had the wagyu burger and chicken fried steak and had to take food home! Also, look out for live music in the garage on the weekends, which is fun. Patio is 18+ after 8pm though but there's ample seating inside if you have kiddos. It does get a little bit noisy in the garage during live music but it ia a cool laid back casual hang and environment. There's also couches and lounge areas in case you don't wanna sit at a table. I've tried the restaurant a few times. It was just ok for me, but I've had better. The service was ok. During one of my visits I tried the veggie burger and it was not good. I also tried the fish. It was a little better. Again, there are better restaurants to go to in my opinion. read more

Our server was great! His name is Harry. We actually had him the last time we were there and he was just as attentive when it even busier! The food is great. I almost always get the chicken salad sandwich with their house made chips and really great ranch to dip them in. Im not a crinkle fries kind of person, but it also comes with Chile Lime fries and they are perfectly Crispy! The dip (i forget what kind) goes well with the fish. I also asked for Malt Vinegar, because why not? It's fish and chips! The Elote was a surprise. I thought it was the corn on the cob variety, but instead it was corn kernels. It was intended for my wife, but surprisingly we were able to easily share it because it was in a dip type format. It was delicious and i'm sure it would have been better with hot cheetos, but opted without it to make the Mrs, happy. The wings are some good ole beefy wings! We went to the Prosper Ford dealership and hadn't eaten much of anything yet so we were both pretty hungry! We were seated right away and hubby spotted the wagyu beef patty melt with the optional double patty and I chose the grilled chicken sandwich with avocado both served on perfectly toasted sourdough bread. I hear they make a great happy hour pizza too that I want to try. The Roasted Turkey Club was a good choice though the french-fries were probably the best of the meal for me. This isn't just an average bar-food menu either. The Service - 3 Stars: Average. A lot of the waitstaff looked like high schoolers hustling for a buck. Good for them! And they did okay. We did need to ask for refills once and forgot the card when bringing back our check from being processed. We chalked it up to the stress and rush of a Friday night before the town's homecoming football game. Everyone in town might have been trying to get a table. The Price - 3 Stars: ~$43 before tip. The food is good and portions were okay, but not $12 a sandwich good. This isn't a NYC deli. The Vibes - 4 Stars: Great location in downtown Prosper. Very much a local hot spot and a unique experience with its spacious 'Western Industrial' vide. Parking can be a challenge on busy nights. Overall, I would round up for a 4-star experience.
