We took our toddler for the first time this week and it did not disappoint! The playground area was perfect for little legs and big enough for mom or dad to save the day if needed. There was turf for the kiddos to run and play and there were even kiddos playing with a soccer ball. Unfortunately someone dropped a Tupperware container and glass got on a piece of the turf but some parents and staff cleaned it up really well and none of the kids got hurt. The food was really good but a bit pricey. We tried a few burgers, the nuggets, tots, and a slushy and it was roughly $35. It did come out hot and fresh but the slush was half melted by the time we got it. Maybe just a timing issue not a big deal! We'll still be back just maybe not for a full meal. My 16 year old son and I tried this place for the first time. I think we were the only people that didn't have a child 5 and under with us. He atmosphere leans heavily towards small children and they were certainly everywhere. The kids make this joint pretty loud and there was lots of coughing and crying. The place is inviting and the person that took my order was very friendly. The burgers were bad, but they were a little smaller than I expected. About the size of an In N Out burger, which isn't bad, I just thought for the price it would be bigger. Even though it was smaller than expected, I thought the amount of meat in the burger was good and the burger had good flavor. I also liked the sauce options. There are a few different sauces near the fountain drinks that you can grab for your meal. If I had a younger child or if this was closer to home this would definitely be in our regular rotation. What an expensive load of garbage. I cannot believe it. The reason people are there is because of the playground. The food is so bad and you get such small hamburgers. I spent $15 for nothing a dinky dinky blah cheeseburger for my grandson with a very small order of Extremely limp french fries and a tiny little drink. He took one bite of each item and refused to eat anymore. For myself I just had an order of limp, sweet potato fries and a drink. I just cannot believe the Prices and my daughter and her husband and their child were in agreement. We met there because it's a halfway point for each of us, but I have no intention of ever coming to this place again. Next time I'm going to tell them just drive on into Fort Worth. Let's go to wild acre. We might spend a little more money, but we will get our fill of food and drinks and the playground is definitely better. The seating definitely better. I give this a 4 star. Today me and the hubby came here to try it out for the first time. I have dietary restrictions so this was definitely exciting for me. This store was crowded when we came and definitely had the church crowd/rush. The young Lady who took our order was very polite and very helpful when it came to the menu. My husband ordered a burger that had bacon on it and I got the smaller regular burger. We both got onion rings. A small order of nuggets, and a order of fried pickles. We had to say that the burger was amazing! Cooked very well and had great flavor. I had the gluten-free bun as well. That was probably one of the best gluten-free buns I've had in a long time alongside trader Joe's. But unfortunately, when it came to the sides we both agreed that the fried pickles were over salted and so were the onion rings. Although I'm very grateful that they had an option for me to eat, it would have been nice to not have them so salty. I definitely could have taken them back but we were so hungry when we came and we definitely ate them and took the rest home. Upon reheating them, which they did nicely in the air fryer, it was still pretty salty. All in all, I'm really happy that I have an audther option and I will be back. I'll just definitely note if they're salty and take care of it while I'm in the store the next time. I definitely recommend this place! Also, the bathrooms were okay. They need a few upgrades like possible table numbers so that servers are not walking around looking for families or customers. On the day we came, we ordered 3 kids meals. If a bar and a fast food joint could procreate, Hat Creek would be the love child that inherited the best features of both. From the bar, it got a handful of beer choices on tap, garage doors to convert a large indoor seating area to a patio, and sports on a few TVs. Thankfully, unlike a bar, both its eating areas and its restrooms are well-lit and clean. From the fast food side, it got reasonably priced burgers, chickens, fries, and sides, and quick service that was helpful and friendly. (The drive-thru was blocked off when we went, but it's there.) Instead of your usual indoor play area, Hat Creek's resembles a makeshift backyard, complete with padded AstroTurf and a couple of Adirondack chairs. Unlike most fast food, the two burgers we've tried so far, Sombrero and a double-patty Hat Creek, were so savory and satisfying, as were the sweet potato fries! Our favorite part is of course the variety of sauces to dip everything in! Hats off to you, Hat Creek! Pro Tip (from a frequent driver in that area): If you're leaving Hat Creek and trying to go left towards 360, take the back way by the church. I, like many people, was initially disappointed with the opening. It stated online that they were open. So, my burger craving family and I headed to Mansfield, only to find a dark, vacant parking lot with a banner advertising that they were open until 2. We made our way back over a few days later after calling to confirm. As soon as we turned into the parking lot, which has plenty of parking btw, you could sense (and hear) the liveliness. If the giant playground out front doesn't give it away, this place is definitely kid friendly. The outdoor play area has three picnic tables with umbrellas. There are small lawn chairs for children. The faux grass is very cushioned. Kids were tumbling, running and dancing all in a place of their own. The outdoor play area connects to the enclosed patio that has clear garage-style doors that lift and wide windows around. There are mounted fans along the perimeter, along with three TVs and a hand washing station. There are long picnic tables, regular tables and smaller, round table with stools. I'm assuming these are aimed for kids. Inside is were we met the GM Adam. He asked if we had any questions. I asked what his favorite burger and sandwich was. He replied The Classic and the Grilled Onion & Swiss. He also pointed out that the burgers and sandwiches could be wrapped in lettuce or in a bowl, which I thought was interesting. The best thing he probably said was that it was half priced burgers. We ordered 2 Classics, a side of sweet potato fries, fried pickles, a Tiny Hat kid's meal with a Dirt Worm Shake (for $2 extra). It didn't take long for our food to come out. I hadn't realized that the burgers come with double patties. I'm not going to lie. It did not look appealing. But looks can be deceiving because it was actually pretty good. All of it was. My daughter thought the kids meal wasn't enough food. For the $9 we paid, we could have gotten her a regular burger. The inside was clean for the most part. The staff was friendly but still new. One problem we did have was the water tabs on the fountain machine. I think they should be labeled better. My husband came back with seltzer water and we asked an employee if they had regular water. He said that kind was under the Minute Maid Strawberry Lemonade Tab and not the Sprite. I also had overlooked the 3 sauces they have by the fountain machine. The Hat sauce is peppery. The Happy sauce is mustard based. The Fry sauce is sweet & sassy. Without a doubt, we will be back. When placing your order online, it states that most sandwiches come with standard toppings (lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, onions, etc) However, it gives you the option to omit and add when you place your order. With that being said, the grill ticket for the order only shows the modifications you chose. So whoever made the sandwiches doesn't know what they're doing or just doesn't care. I was excited to try Hat Creek after reading some reviews about the beef used at the restaurant. I will just cut to the chase. It is a burger. There was nothing distinct or exemplary about it. Everything was fresh, quality was good, and the portion was surprisingly satisfying. The price was comfortable as well. All this and yet, I was left less than impressed. My immediate thought was In and Out Burger. A homestyle burger that is indistinguishable from the many homestyle burgers popping up all over DFW. It will do in a pinch and I suppose there are likely fans of the brand. I gave 3- stars due to the quality of the ingredients...it is a shame the combination left my taste buds flat. read more

The burgers seem to have just gotten smaller and smaller with price going higher and higher. I placed the regular sized straws out for size reference, the straws are normal sized but appear giant next to the tiny burgers and mini fries. Third time here and have tried something different each time. This was our first time trying salads and it was so filling! Chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Outside dining has big fans for the hot summer and gates that go up for a breeze. Kids have an outdoor playground with soft turf. Hat Creek is located off a busy road, Broad Street, but the playground is fenced in. Was only disappointed in no salad dressing provided. Had to go back 4 times to get ranch. The real calling card is the playground set up they have. The kids are free to play in a safe environment with other kids while the adults are in a temperature controlled seating area with TVs. It's so nice to be able to let my kiddo come and go from the table and play to his heart's content while we enjoy a good dinner. Service was great, very friendly staff members throughout. The food is overall just okay, fried items on the slightly greasier side, but nothing that a napkin can't fix. They have a wide variety of sauces including their own take on honey mustard and fry sauce. The nuggets are all gluten free too! We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was PACKED. Lots of kids running around having a good time on the playground. We will definitely return when we need a place for the kids to run off steam.
