I had two deep cleanings scheduled with them through my insurance, along with a few crowns and fillings coming up. We completed both deep cleanings, I signed the consent forms for them, and then payed the co-pay in full out of pocket which all worked out fine. Wha wasn't fine was the front office lady sneaking a procedure for antibiotic into my gums which would have been 500 extra out of pocket, and was not signed for or authorized. I asked what he was doing as he was about to stay once the deep cleanings were done, i asked him to stop so I could get a printout out the insurance since I wasn't sure what was going on. Come to find out the front desk lady added a 500 dollar procedure not covered by insurance, that I asked them to stop before it even started, but I was told I was financially responsible for before I could complete the rest of the crowns and fillings I needed that I had actually agreed to. I feel totally taken advantage of and like they snuck an unauthorized procedure into my regular one while I was in the chair sedated, and now have to find a new dentist for the things I need, while carrying a "debt" to them for an unauthorized one. Almost five years had passed since Hattar had removed my teeth and replaced them with dentures. I was happy yet in pain for a couple of days. My face was swollen for almost a year so it was hard to tell what the total outcome was going to be. Of course, it is normal to give time to get used to the new and I did. I was having difficulty with my dentures digging in to my gums all the time. Hattar had adjusted them once. It still was not comfortable at all. About 3 years later I was in a terrible auto accident and unfortunately I never retrieved my teeth as they disappeared in the accident. Long story short, apparently as a medi-cal insured individual if you lose your teeth you can't get them replaced. You would have to wait five years before you could do so. For me that meant I would have to wait another two and a half years before I reached the five years from the time I initially had them installed in my mouth. However, if your teeth were stolen and you could supply a police report, you could get a replacement immediately by your provider. Well, my police report for the accident, of course, doesn't mention my teeth were stolen so I wasn't able to get my missing teeth replaced under my insurance policy, according to the receptionist at Hattar's office. Coming in to the five years time line I called Hattar's office to see when ( calendar ) I would be eligible to have my dentures made for me again. The receptionist ( Jasmine ) claimed that I needed an appointment before Hattar could qualify my eligibility. So I continued with her to schedule an appointment. After getting an appointment date and time she tells me I needed to pay $25.00 for missing an appointment prior. This was not true. There was an appointment that I couldn't make but I called to let them know I wasn't able to make the appointment and that I would call back to reschedule. So, I accepted the new appointment and closed the phone call with her. After a few minutes I decided to call Medi-cal and ask about my eligibility. It turns out that I am eligible under special circumstances. The representative then continued to give me the information I needed so I could relay it to the receptionist with my provider ( Hattar ). Calling Hattar's office back to get the information to a receptionist, Jasmine answered the call. Exited to tell her about the information I received from Medi-cal she claims that she couldn't take the information until I achieved an X-ray exam from them. I exclaimed that under my policy I didn't have to pay a consultation fee of twenty-five dollars for the appointment. That's when I understood that the twenty-five dollars was a penalty for not making that prior appointment. I asked for her to have the doctor call me back. At that time I didn't realize that she had hung up the phone on me and ended the conversation without confirming that someone would Indeed, call me back. So I called Hattar's office back to get confirmation thinking under benefit of the doubt that maybe the phone call dropped on its own. Jasmine answered the call back and up til this time I didn't know her by name so I asked her and she replied her name. I asked her in curiosity, why she hung the phone up when our conversation clearly wasn't over. She said, "because you wanted a call back !" I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said, "she's busy". So I politely asked for a call back and again, no reply, cut the conversation off by hanging up the phone. I am a Senior and have witnessed all walks of life. I am a veteran, have four grown children, a widower twice and I have a great respect for people. People are just that, people. No one is perfect that's a fact of life. But when people go out of their way to deter their responsibilities to someone else's, especially a customer, it's due to them to learn a lesson and pay the piper just like everyone else. Jasmine needs to learn that customer service is not owed to her. Is it something that you have to give one hundred percent when you work at a professional place of business even if it's not a good day for her or time of the month or whatever. You just can't be rude to a client or customer because you feel like it. In fact her supervisor doesn't have the power to that either. I'm sure, Dr. Hattar doesn't prefer his employees to rid his clients when they feel like it. She didn't care that I was intending to acquire another doctor that would oblige and accommodate my particular needs without rudely destroying the relationship I had with Hattar. Goodbye Hattar. i personally love this doctor. i had a deep cleaning, 4 fillings and a tooth extraction. i was really scared because one of the fillings could have been a root canal and dr.Hattar did warn me if the tooth breaks he has to do a root canal. It was one my front tooth, so i was scared but he reassured me he'll do his best. and next thing you know i was finished. NO NEED FOR A ROOT CANAL:) & i was SUPER happy because the dentist before him said my only option was a root canal & dr. Hattar saved my tooth. :) & now im back today to polish my tooth & to do the other half of my deep cleaning. my whole family comes here, mom, dad, sisters, nephews & nieces. we love the work they do here. read more

The first time I visited the office, I sat in a tiny waiting area with 2 other adults and one child that was an absolute monster. There were only 8 chairs in a room that was perhaps 10 x 12 with a small coffee table in the center. You are locked in there with a a sliding glass door to reception. After about 20 or 30 minutes I asked those present how long they were there and one person said 2 hours so I rescheduled and left. My second visit was much better because I made a first morning appointment. I was fortunate that I was not needing immediate help because my dental needs were not painful. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Dr Hattar spent maybe 2 to 5 minutes with me and he was out. "here are the x rays... tooth 3 needs this and tooth 7 needs this. I did not know where tooth 3 or tooth 7 was because he was pointing at x-rays and I don't know how to read them. It was never properly explained to me. They presented a detailed list to my insurance company and much of it was denied/ not covered. I never went back. read more

Initial call was warm and helpful, and truly thought this was gonna be an awesome experience. My appt was at 3, was not complate until about 530 and most of that time was waiting. Finally the cleaning was to be done and it looked like nothing happened aside from feeling like I was being bathed with all the water over me face by the attending person. I try to be positive and impartial and I kept my comments to myself unless asked, but I am very disappointed because I feel that because I complained about the substandard care and was told that they would accommodate when I return on Tuesday for my procedure to now being called and now today the doctor feels my case is more difficult than noted. Can't help but wonder my complaint or teeth the complications. But overall the employee calling everytime was nice. Wish the office and those to use for future the best​​ read more

If I could give this place a zero for customer service a would !!! I talked to Jessica on the October 30th to be a new patient and wanted to make an appointment on the November 6. She informed me that my insurance would have to add them as my dentist which they did immediately. When I called Jessica back she said I'm not in there system yet and I will have to call back on the first. At that point I didn't have an issue except I needed an AM appointment which she said no problem but she can not schedule me till she receives the email. I said can you pencil me in my insurance has already added me to the office. She refused to add me to the appointment book. Now today on the November 1 she can not add me till late in the afternoon when before she had said that the early appointment would be no problem. This normally would not be an issue except I had another appointment later that day with my doctor and informed her of that on the 30th. Her final conversation was you can find another office that can help you with that date and time. I guess Mr Hatter doesn't need new patients based on Jessica customer service. read more

heres an update 4 months later after visiting 6 different dentist making 3 trips down the cajon pass to see specialist after specialist NO ONE will touch my tooth nobody Dr Hattar did such a terrible job on my root canal nobody will retreat it its been infected for 3 months it was infected the day i left his office and now my only option is to have an extraction of my tooth Dr Hattar did not numb me correctly when he was doing my root canal i felt it all and he finally decided to give me more numbing half way through the procedure he did NOT measure my bite after permanent crown the post he put in my tooth was too long and now that i am to this point all the specialist say i do not have enough healthy tooth enamel to do a retreatment all thanks to Dr Hattar and his lovely team i now am LOSING my tooth as well as he did not do a filling correctly on a different tooth and now needs a root canal because he drilled too deep into my cavity DO NOT GO HERE unless you want free pain and suffering for months read more

I have been trying just a little under five years to get my dentures put in and every time they keep saying that they don't fit so I have to bring them back. They adjust them then they still don't fit hurt my mouth and today I went over there and they were supposed to pull out a tooth that I have that I lost the crown to and it really hurts and they wanted me to pay for a missed visit where I had to take my dad to the hospital for his dementia and I think that was more important than my appointment that I missed and I'm not gonna pay him. they are really poor service oriented people and I don't think I could recommend them to anyone read more
