I had a really bad experience buying fish from a fisherman at Haulover Marina. He sold me a 25-pound amberjack, told me it was "just like grouper," and assured me it was good eating. After cooking it, I found out it tasted terrible, and later learned that amberjack is not a fish most people eat because it can carry toxins and parasites. I felt completely misled. This kind of dishonesty makes it impossible to trust what they're selling--who even knows when the fish was caught or if it was fresh at all. If you want safe, quality seafood and honest advice, I'd recommend skipping the marina fishermen and going to a reputable seafood market instead. It's a shame, because I would have been a regular customer if they had been honest from the start. read more

We had a pleasant first-time experience at the Haulover Marine Center where we met our Airbnb guide for a boat tour. A hub of activity and a spot to view an impressive variety of birds and boats--it set the tone for a great start and end to our two-hour tour. Note that parking is paybyphone app mostly or you can pay at a meter located between the public boat dock (by the Colombian restaurant) and the large blue, warehouse-style marine center and store. The restrooms in the store are recommended over the ones on the side of the public boat ramps - much cleaner! read more

Since it is located right next to Haulover Inlet, it's a great place to stop by when going out into the ocean or just when traveling the Intracoastal Waterways for fuel, fishing supplies, various tackle and snacks to take along with you. They have both diesel and gasoline and the folks here are super friendly, accommodating and polite. read more

Honestly, I can't get that picture out of my mind... Yesterday, I was waiting for a friends boat to be put in the water as I noticed that all the boats being carried on the forklifts were literally halfway on the tongs and halfway off. I kept thinking to myself, Why on earth do they not exercise more caution when carrying them? The sticks that lay on the belly on the boat are not only super long but additionally they place the boat at the very very tip of the tongs and move around in a hasty manner. I remember looking up and they were placing a boat next to ours that was so large and with very little clearance to me. I felt like I was going to be crushed if anything went wrong. Two seconds later, they dropped a boat from the racks since they couldn't take the extra two seconds to make sure the forklift was properly placed in ALL THE WAY. The staff member dropped the boat due to his negligence. They immediately closed the doors and didn't want anyone taking pictures. For the record, if the owner of that boat was told an alternate story- please let it be known that I saw EVERYTHING and I can assure you it was the staff members negligence in which the marina should definitely be liable for. Could've easily killed someone & for what !!??! They have the machinery ! If they only used it properly instead of placing the boat at the tip of the lift. I will never recommend this place and I will continue sharing the photo I took of the accident until I find the owner of that boat. Poor guy was probably told it was a malfunction or something and was given the run around. ALL of us who were there saw what really happened. read more

Steering had 6 inches of slack in it and hard to turn after they replace the cable. The engine after routine service would not idle more than 5 minutes without stalling. Would not go into gear from idle. Had to rev up in neutral and drop into gear. I called the supervisor Helios and he said to bring it back. He would make it right. I took it back. They rebuilt the carburetor. Picked up again. The engine failed on the way back. Had it towed home. Helios said he would stop by and check it out. After two weeks of not coming to check it out. He stopped answering his phone. The steering also is still bad. Highly suggest you take your repairs elsewhere. Update. 3 months later and they still will not correct the services they performed. read more

I bought a JetSki from a person who had it store at the Haulover Marina, so I decide to leave the jetski there as it seemed convenient. They charge $175 for jetski storage and are supposed to drop and store your jetski between 9am-5pm. I signed up, gave them my credit card information and signed the agreement. The person I bought the jeyski from and even the lady at the front counter said that if you give the guy to stores them away a tip (about $20) he would flush and clean the jetski. Sounds great right? No, it's not. See the machine they have to drop and store the jetskis is old. I had a day off from work so my wife and I went to ride the jetski, everything went well, so I thought. I tipped the guy $25 to clean, flush, cover and store the ski, and he said he would and thanked me. Two months later I had another opportunity where my wife and I were off and planned a date to ride the jetski to one of the little islands and hang out, even bought a $400 drone to film ourselves. Load up the truck and head to the marina. Get there at around 10am, and called for them to drop the ski... hold please, hold please, hold please. So after the third phone call I just went to the office to talk to the lady and see why I was constantly put on hold and hung up on. Only one lady working at the place and the phones didn't stop ringing. Then she tell me that the lift that carries the jetskis and boat from that side is broken and they can't drop my jetski. What? She tells me to go over and see the guys. I get there and they say that the machine is old and it broke so they can't drop the jetski, as I look at my jeyski it's on the second shelf and there is no cover. I ask them about the cover and they say they don't know anything about it. The guy I had tipped wasn't there. So I ask, how do I get my jetski down, I don't get too many days off and I pay you to secure and provide a service. They say sorry there is nothing they can do. Back to the office, and the lady says to speak with a guy named Rick who is supposed to be the manager, he is no where around. Then she give me number to call, this guy never answered the phone, then called back 30 minutes later. SO I asked him to pay me back for my months storage as I haven't used their service but once in 2 months and now my day is inconvenienced by their faulty and old equipment. He say no. The only person who was actually decent to speak to was Jeff Ellis at their parent company Westrec, but he too said he wouldn't return my money for the month. I now drive all around town to get a boat trailer. Get back to the Marina at about 6 when they are just finishing the repairs on the equipment to lowers the jetskis. They load the jetski on the boat. What a mess! The jeytski sat there for 2 months with no cover because they lost it and it's a mess, dirty, sundried seat, dirty, and the plugs were still in the jetski, which means the guy I tipped never flushed, cleaned or covered the jetski. Get home at about 8pm and now have to clean and flush the jetski. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE save your time and money, go somewhere else. They obviously don't care about equipment or people's time. Unfortunately they have you and will not change a thing here! There is no other indoor storage place as convenient as this place so no matter what they do wrong you will still pay and store your boat! We have had our boat here since the new place opened. I will say a few workers on the docks are nice. But for the most part the ladies inside are a real piece of work! I'm sorry if you hate your job so much then quit! Don't be rude and act like you are innocent when you are not nice and only do your job half assed! They have messed up many times by not launching the boat when they were suppose to. Oh n saying they open at 8 is a lie! They show up at 8 but you cannot get a boat launched until at least 9 when they decide to start work. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. Purposely called the day before in the morning for a night launch. Got to the marina at 6am and you know the boat was not launched! We had people waiting to go out fishing on the boat, bait guy waiting to deliver bait to the boat and NO BOAT! I didn't get up at 430am cause I felt like it. I got up to go fishing in my boat that yet again wasn't launched. Now 6am becomes at least 9am or when they feel like working! The nice summer flat days are few and far in between to go on water and also to dodge the storms. You want to get out there early and get back before the lightening n rain starts. Well not today again cause they didn't do their job! I'm sorry I'm venting here but doing it at the marina won't help! The manager is lazy and could care less as long as he can drive around on his golf cart he could careless about what's going on! read more

I REALLY love this marina. First of all their price to store your jetski ( includes taking it out and putting it away all you want ) is about 40% less than other places in Miami. It is however hard to get for a jetski spot since nobody is giving up their spots so you have to keep calling (like daily) the last week of the month to try to get a spot. (No contract but i believe you need to pay first and last month up front from what i remember) Every staff member I have ever delt with is friendly. You can buy gas for your jetski at this marina as well. Many marains wont sell fuel to jetskis. It is right across the street from Haulover Beach / the ocean and the nude beach (north end of haulover beach ) for those who are ballsey and like to be tan line free. There is a little restaurant, bathrooms, store and mechanic on site. Best of all Haulover marina is right by the inlet to get to the ocean and its the closest marina to my home.
