This is an update to my last review... I was so incredibly impressed by Shay's artistry with the microblading on my eyebrows, I decided to get semipermanent eyeliner. We took time to choose a color that naturally compliments my green hazel eyes, which was a lovely dark chocolate brown, and went for it! I was convinced I needed to add a strong tail, which Shay in her professional expertise talked me out of due to the potential for drooping and sagging with time and age. Shaylin was great! I've already had my regular microblading appointment and my touch up. When I say I was incredibly nervous, I was so incredibly nervous I was stumbling on my words and couldn't even think about how to answer a simple question Shalyn had asked me. That did not stop Shalyn from making my entire experience comforting from start to finish!! Years of drawing in my own brows I had my own expectations and hadn't let anyone touch them with makeup in years because of it let alone get them microbladed. I had been following Shalyn all throughout her apprenticeship on social media and then some, I knew she had the talent I just had to pull the plug. What had really drawn me in to go see her was her fun personality. She was so real on IG and seeing that made me feel comfortable enough to finally pull that plug. So here I am in her shop, in her cute little decorated space and she's asking me detailed questions on what I'm looking for, I'm so nervous like I said I didn't know how to answer. I had all the right things in my head but couldn't get it out, it's my eyebrows on my face if someone messes that up... well you know I'd imagine it would be hard to continue a conversation with someone when they're that nervous and having a hard time answering but not for Shalyn, she had absolutely no problem with it and knew all the right things to say and ask to get me to be comfortable. Throughout the entire process she was so incredibly thorough. Prior to me going in she sent me an email with all the contraindications, what to expect during and after the microblading session. During the session she walked me through every step while creating the shape, we picked the pigment together, she showed me in the mirror several times to make sure I would be pleased with the end results and then upon leaving she even gave me detailed after care instructions for the down time. I wanted to get my eyebrows done for a long time and was very nervous to try someone. I had researched around town and found what I didn't like. A friend just got her brows done by shalyn and I loved her work on my friend. I met her and got my microblading done before the pandemic hit in March 2020. She was professional, very easy to communicate with, easy to connect and makes you feel comfortable. She was able to answer any and all questions with confidence and never made me feel less than for asking so many.... after all I'm trusting her to do something big to my face. She took her time and made sure I loved my eyebrows. I found her through a friend and I since then have recommended her two more clients. The after care instructions were easy to understand and to follow. I didn't get the peeling that I've seen "influencers" talk about. I believe it's because of her after care instructions. Then in late February of 2021, I went back for my annual touch up. It's been over a month since then and I'm still so impressed and still love my eyebrows. The cost is so worth it to me.
