I started coming to HC a couple of years ago because I followed Fernando from Dellaria's on Summer Street. Let me tell you about Fernando (and myself. Because it's my review). I've been going to him since 2007 when I called up D's and asked for someone who specializes in curly hair. I have fine curly hair, but a lot of it. It frizzes easily especially when it's humid outside. I have been growing it out for a few years and I just needed a better cut. Fernando knew exactly what to do with my hair. He chopped it off like I asked, and I've never looked back. Not only has he made it look good super-short, but we came up with a plan once I decided to grow it out a bit. I've never been one to shy away from risks with my hair, though I never professionally colored it, because I know that it'll just grow back. No ANTM moments here! Fernando just goes with it and he always makes me feel like a million bucks when I walk out. Not to mention, he's the sweetest guy. We've become friends over the years and I love hearing about his family. Not only does he cut and style really well, but I know he wants it to suit me. He'll cut my hair into whatever I want, but he makes suggestions that will work better and I trust him! I am reviewing eyebrow waxing only, which I absolutely love! I go to Haute Coiffure everu 2 to 3 weeks and Evan waxes my eyebrows. She does an awesome job & never over-does my brows! Booking is super easy online & every time I've called to say I'm running late the staff is super accommodating. To the owners: I am shocked at your booking system and management. Was a client for two years, booked an appointment via phone call last week. I received a voicemail 50 minutes before my appointment that it was cancelled because "there was a new receptionist and it was booked wrong". I returned the call and the receptionist answers the phone and gives me a very brief explanation saying double booked and can get me in the next day at 6:15pm. I told her I was frustrated because I received multiple texts confirming my appointment and just as I'm about to go to the appointment it's canceled. She offered a 10% discount and I was like that's great however, I told her my preference of coming in at least an hour before close for ample time for stylist because I don't believe in having stylist staying past closing. Receptionist told me she would check with stylist, and eventually comes back with 6:15 is best they can do, I'm welcome to come at 6pm and just wait but they're offering 10% off for the mishap. Clearly, no one enjoys being cancelled on but I thought that was resolved with a new appointment scheduled for this evening. Just now I get a call from a manager saying she wanted to review the language that was used towards her receptionist yesterday. I an stunned. I asked her to recap verbatim what "language" I used because I am shocked to be receiving this call. Manager said that her receptionist spoke with the stylist and management to say that she felt uncomfortable with the language and tone of the conversation yesterday during rebooking. I am so happy to part ways with your establishment and personnel because it is completely inappropriate to accuse a client of being aggressive to your staff when all I did was said I was frustrated and also tried to come in earlier to be mindful of your Stylist's schedule. For management to call and not try to understand the client's position of being cancelled and accuse the client of saying things or conducting herself in an aggressive manner is beyond me. Let the logic speak, if I were were truly not nice to your receptionist, do you think I would've successfully rebooked an appointment? Wouldn't you address the issue with me sooner? I have the voicemail of the receptionist's shaky/incompetent tone and excuse for cancellation. No one bothered to offer an apology for this inconvenience. It is nice that you stand up for your employee but in this case, the client didn't do anything wrong. Clearly you don't need the business. A response to Alice, Looks like you have an inaccurate call log. Attached is the only missed call at 4:39pm yesterday. Appointment was for 5:30pm, so 51 minutes before my appointment I received the notification of cancellation. That was the only call I received. Also, when you called me you did not mention that your receptionist cried! Please don't lie and say that I was contacted 1.5 hour before my appointment, it doesn't help the situation. Good luck! This review is long overdue... I have been seeing Paula for Keratin, cuts, and color for a few years now. She is simply the best when it comes to Keratin. She understands thick, frizzy hair and knows how to tame it in a way that preserves it's health and integrity. I have never been one to experiment with color until Paula suggested adding some blond layers and the results were amazing. I get compliments all the time. She really sees what's best for your hair. Have been going here for Evan for at least 8 years now, possibly more. Impeccable job always-and very down to earth, makes you feel extremely comfortable (which can be VERY needed for a waxing experience!!!) And she does miracles with eyebrows. Mine needed a wax but also a nurturing back to health from the overplucking/waxing of my youth and she somehow was able to do both. I couldn't recommend her more!!! read more

I have been getting my hair done by Stacey at Haute Coiffure Salon for a couple of months now and am always super pleased with the result. After Stacey literally resurrected my hair from the bowels of hell, I felt compelled to write a review singing her praises. After a few attempts at coloring my hair myself, and the resultant attempts to correct that color, I showed up at Haute Coiffure this morning with green and orange hair desperate for help, praying only that I would not have to shave my head. Stacey was kind and sympathetic to my misadventures and worked with me to not only color my hair to a human hue, but to actually leave me with really great looking color. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my "new do," even foiling and re-coloring individual pieces after the full foil and color. I am new to the area and needed a new hair style badly. Read the reviews and thought why not. I went for my appt with Joe. I did not know what style I wanted and Joe said leave it in my hands, have faith. Well I did and I am so glad that I did. Joe took his time and gave me the best haircut I have ever had and believe me thats alot of haircuts. First time I have not had to go running home to wash and style my hair myself. I would recomment the salon and Joe to anyone who wants a fabulous haircut. So pleasant and relaxing. I will be back for sure. read more

Five stars for Casey! I went in the salon back in January and she lightened and cut my hair which I looooved!! I wanted to go back to her for a follow up but she was on vacation at the time so I tried another place and they turned my hair BLUE!!!! And just weeks before my wedding. I called in a panic and Casey fit me right in and fixed the blue and lightened me back up, it came out FLAWLESS!!! I ended up hiring her to do mine and my bridesmaids hair for the wedding. I just received the most thorough and beautiful pedicure by Maria. My feet are not only silky smooth but the polish is perfectly applied!

I am only reviewing their dip manicure, I've seen plenty of pictures and great reviews about their hair and I would definitely try getting my hair done there since it looks great. I think this is a new service at this salon as well. Just an FYI they had around maybe 10-15 colors, not a huge selection but they were all very nice and wearable, mainly pink shades- they use the OPI brand dip. Cost is maybe slightly above average to average: $45 for dip and $50 for dip including polish removal. However this was the worst dip manicure Ive sadly ever had... I really wanted to like it since this is a convenient location but it was so bad. I've been getting dip consistently for about a year so I know the process and this was not what I was used to. My tech used a nail file to file down the top of my nails which was bizarre and way too coarse and made my nails extremely thin and weak. I'm not sure if she was inexperienced with dip but she was extremely rough with sanding and filing, multiple times I had to pull back because she was cutting my cuticles so much. It was so painful and, of course it's not a big deal if it happens once or twice, like I said I get these often so I know it can happen- but this was excessive. She never asked the shape I wanted, and they are so unevenly filed. The dip is also messed up on my right middle finger which was not corrected. She didn't use a powder base which I thought was odd as every other nail salon I have been to for dip has used this (it's a white powder before the color, maybe OPI just doesn't have one?). Also, I was extremely caught off guard when she pulled out a UV light?? Never ever had that happen before... Dip doesn't require UV light!!!!! The main reason I get dip is because the light used to set gel manicures severely damages my nails, and I tried to not put my hands in the machine but the UV polish layer was already on me so I didn't have much choice, and this had already taken much longer than I anticipated so I really wanted to just leave. At other nail salons I have never had this take more than 45-50 min... this was around an hour and 25 min. Usually after the final filing, you wash your hands to get the powder off before they apply lotion- she just applied lotion on my powdery hands which felt gross and left them extremely irritated. My right thumb is also still tacky and looks matte compared to the rest of my fingers which is so weird. Again I'm sorry to have to write this, I really wanted to like this place but the end result was a OK looking but very painful manicure. I rated 2 stars since it could have been worse and everyone was very friendly. I would stick to just getting your hair done here. In the pictures you see how irritated my hand is after, as well as the messed up middle finger and not dry thumb Updating with the final picture being the following day, you can see clearly where my cuticles were ripped on every single finger on my left hand. If you have blonde hair, this post is for you! So, I have had my fair share of hair stylists over the years and very few of them have gotten it right. In fact, only a handful even seem to really understand blonde hair to begin with.... you know, what "beige" and "not brassy" actually mean. I have very fine blonde hair and have gone back and forth between foils and single processes throughout my life. The single process seems to look better on my thin hair but is a gamble because if the stylist doesn't know how to make the color look good, it'll end up being either golden or play boy bunny platinum - and both are yuck. Hilights are a safe bet BUT they take forever, they are expensive, they require a toner, and some people do them wayyy too big so they look streaky. Enter Kasey from Haute Coiffure on High Street who saved my life today. I had highlights about a month ago but had a ton of growth today, and my overall tone was yellow-ish and kind of blah. I knew I wanted to do a single process to brighten up my entire look but was nervous to see someone I've never met before... but decided to take a gamble anyway and I am SO GLAD that I did. First of all, Kasey is just the friendliest most relatable person ever. I started describing my previous woes with my hair and what I'm really hoping to achieve and she understood immediately, she just seemed to get it. The applied my single process color over all my roots and then toned me. Once I sat down in the chair, she had a feeling it was a bit too light and I confirmed it was just a *tad* too light... so we went back to the sink where she toned me again, and then after rinsing and conditioning, she inspected me and decided to tone for a few more seconds just to make absolute sure it was perfect. Serious attention to detail. When I sat down in the chair, my hair was the most perfect shade of beige buttery blonde I have ever seen in my life!! Honestly to be able to find someone who is awesome AND knows how to do blonde hair is such a rare find. Go see Kasey and you won't be disappointed! read more

I went to see Casey to get a balayage - and I wanted to go pretty light. She held a consultation with me and as soon as I came in for my appointment she went straight to work. Not only is she super kind and a great conversationalist, she did an incredible job with my hair. My favorite thing about her is that she'll tell you if you're doing too much damage and recommend several sessions if necessary. Fortunately for me, I could do it in one sitting. She put toner in my hair for the blonde. Since I have dark hair to begin with, she helped me avoid brassy tones of orange. Definitely going back again soon! read more

I got a keratin here last week and I really loved my stylist, but the treatment was not effective at all. I usually go to the other location and see Elena, but was closer to this one and I thought I would give it a try. My stylist was friendly and we had great conversation, but my hair looks exactly the same as it did before the treatment. It's not any less frizzy and it's the same level as shine and straightness. I made a same-day appointment for a blow out (treating myself as it was my birthday and I was going out to dinner with friends). The woman taking the appointment on the phone was asking me the length of my hair and such before finally confirming timing, which should have been a sign to me that timing may end up being an issue (more to come on this), however, I wasn't too worried about it. At 5:30, I showed up for a 5:45 appointment. I was greeted by the receptionist who was very sweet and chatted with me for a bit. 5:45 came and went...the receptionist checked in the back (the salon is split in two with a small room in the back housing the four stylist chairs) with my stylist. I was told the woman who had the appointment before me changed her mind and decided to do a full foil instead of a partial so that the stylist was running behind. At first, I was going to be annoyed...but it's a conundrum because...were I the woman being foiled, I would be pleased that they would fit in my change of plans...but as the appointment behind her...I was annoyed because they weren't sticking to the schedule. However, sensibility won out and I decided...who cares. It's just a blow out and it won't take that long once I am in the chair. At around 6:00pm, the receptionist started shampooing me for the stylist. Mid-way through the shampoo my stylist came over, apologizing profusely for the delay. She did a great shampoo (loads of nice scalp treatment) and gave me some details on products I could use in the future on my blonde locks. We went back to her station (side note: the back room is kind of gloomy. It could definitely use some sprucing up). The blow out was awesome. I wanted big curls that could fall a bit as the night went on (I think I said, think "Kate Middleton"). She listened well and gave me exactly what I was looking for and in the 30 minute window I needed it to happen in order to make it to my dinner on time. Additionally, when they found out it was my birthday, I received a 15% discount which was unexpected and very kind of them. Though I have a salon preference for my cuts and colors, I will definitely return to Haute Coiffure for blow outs in the future! read more

Elena is a color and stylist genius. I went in for a basic haircut and left with a whole new look that I had been secretly curious about, but didn't have the guts to do until I met Elena. She inspires confidence and her reputation precedes her as a brilliant colorist and balayage artist. I put myself completely in her expert hands and she mixed a color that was magic. A proprietary color between gold and caramel all her own that somehow blends like sunlight with thick Asian hair without being brassy. I came to this salon 2 weeks ago. Stacey did my hair, blow dry and flat iron, it was excellent ! My hair was shiny and straight for a couple days after. I have a long, thick, curly hair, and it goes back to its curly shape very shortly after blow dry, if it was not done very well ! Today Stacey did my hair. She did it really quick, didn't spend much time blow drying it as it should be. Now it's only 3 hours after and it doesn't look straight at all ! It's frizzy and dry. I think if I did it myself with my flat iron it would have been the same and I would save the $50. I know she had other customers at the same time and she was busy, but I still expect a high quality service, and it was not the case today. read more

I have been getting my brows waxed with Evan for a few years now. I have to say she is a perfectionist! Lets be real here girls its hard to find someone that wont botch your eyebrows or thin them out too much. I cant tell you all how many compliments I get on my eyebrows.
