There were actual pieces of peach in it, but I could barely taste any peach flavor. Overall, it just didn't have much flavor at all. I'm not sure if it was specifically the flavor I chose or if it's because I'm not really used to vegan baked goods. I can definitely appreciate that they offer options for people who are vegan, have allergies, or have certain dietary restrictions and still want to satisfy their sweet tooth. But for me personally, the taste and quality just didn't justify paying almost $7 for one cupcake. The customer service didn't really help the experience either. Since it was my first time, I asked the girl at the front what their best sellers were and what she recommended. I was genuinely trying to make conversation and get some guidance on what I should try, but she wasn't very helpful or engaging. It honestly felt like I was talking to a wall. Overall, it's a cute spot and I appreciate what they offer for people with dietary restrictions, but between the price, texture, lack of flavor, and customer service, it just wasn't for me.

REVIEW: decent enough coffee and tea spot. over the years the service here has improved DRAMATICALLY. couple years back, the service here was slow as sh*t. but these days, i have to say, the people behind the counter greet you with a smile and are on top of it. good training. be warned however, that on weekdays this is THE spot for Biltmore area playas. a who's who of handshakes, back pats and air kisses. well maybe not air kisses, this is Phoenix, not L.A....but if it **were** L.A., there would be that. obviously they're doing something right if the C Phx "in crowd" converges every morning. i'd say anytime after about 10 a.m. and this place will have plenty of seating - been here in a.m./lunch and dinner times. what's lacking......well to start when the weather is less-than-ideal, too hot or too cold, there is not enough seating inside (they do have overflow seating in the adjacent gelato shop...but if i meet someone at a cafe i don't wanna sit in a damn ice cream bazaar). the kitchen is also small and they have a small selection of baked goods and pastries that often sell out. no menu items here. not sure if they make anything in-house, but what they do serve is pretty good. not enough selection and not enough product. coffee/tea......i'm pretty happy with their selection of teas. they usually have a few ice brewed ready to go and can hot or cold brew quite a few. ---the espresso drinks is where Hava Java falls into the category of "Most Other Arizona Coffee Places" where their beans are good enough but the barista execution is just meh. i've been here enough times and interacted with most of the employees; they are mostly very friendly and cool and i always tip at least something, but i'm sorry to say these are not exactly Portland or Seattle All Stars when it comes to latte skillz. everyone can make coffee but a barista is a skilled technician that takes practice, training, and knowledge of beans. Hava Java employees are mainly high school and college kids - usually the best have been at it for years. (i kinda sound like a barista writing this, but i am not, in fact i have never worked any food job. i do have chefs in my family though and just understand food/drink.) look, for a strip mall hangout for pros in the a.m. and students mid-day, Hava Java is cool and pleasant enough. three stars. read more

I recently visited Hava Java and encountered an uncomfortable situation. When I approached the counter to order, the employee with pink hair initially seemed hesitant to serve me and instead asked a black colleague for assistance. As I waited, I observed the same employee readily helping the person behind me, which left me feeling uneasy. Additionally, when I walked past the tip jar, she made a rushed gesture that felt strange as if implying I was not trustworthy or perhaps she was having poor judgment and likely an assumption of my character as if I would potentially steal. I hope to bring attention to this experience as it seemed like there might be a disparity in how customers are treated, and I believe it's essential to ensure a fair and inclusive environment for everyone in 2024. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Hava Java for almost three years, and I think it's the best coffee house in Phoenix. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for my coffee. Their French and Italian roasts are first-rate. Bold yet smooth and flavorful, and never, ever bitter. I love that, when you order just coffee, you can pour and prepare your own, to your own specific taste. I have always loved that about Hava Java. Hava Java has an independent, urban, city feel to it. It's nice to spend time there and pretend that I'm not in the barren wasteland that is Phoenix. The staff cannot be beat. They are all knowledgable about coffee and tea as well. Eek me thinks not is right. I don't know who is running this place but they need a serious change in operation. First thing, coffee is mediocre at best; "hot coffee" served luke warm, weak tasting coffee, slowest service I have ever experienced at a food and beverage shop, and the cleanliness of the establishment is concerning. I'm new to Yelp but with the awful experience I had here I was compelled to get on here and inform the patrons on what kind of "service" they are providing. And just like Angela H. mentioned below in her review about the owner Justin...this guy is ridiculous. So arrogant and cocky, carries himself poorly. This place is a popular spot for locals. They have a wide selection of coffee drinks and a pretty decent pastry case. I recommend their yogurt, fruit and granola cups. Outdoors seating is plentiful, however it's near the parking in front and can be a bit loud. There cash register is also in an awkward spot which means you have to shuffle past a line of people to order. All in all it's a great local spot with exceptional service. read more

Bad Wifi. First it makes you give a password, so you have to stop what you're doing, leave your laptop behind to hunt down a worker, get a slip of paper from him that looks like a fortune in a fortune cookie, then Qwest tells you that someone in the place has a virus and it has shut down the whole restaurant's wifi. Moved to the Biltmore area about a year ago, and Hava Java is my favorite coffee shop, hands down. Their coffee is delicious, and they remember my order even when I haven't gone for 2 weeks. If you need caffeine, and are in the area, then Hava Java is a must. read more

That notwithstanding, I would like to correct my previous review to avoid additional confrontation at the coffee shop closest to where I live: They have a lot of employees that are college students who have finals right now. They refunded my two drinks that took over an hour to serve at my last experience. They have a QR code/square site (pictured) to order directly from them and there is no additional charge or up charge for this. This was a mistake in my previous review - I was being directed to door dash. I am uncomfortable returning after this, however I do appreciate the opportunity to correct my mistake and to continue sharing my honest experience with fellow yelpers.

Peaceful and not crazy crowded like some other places, which is a nice change. I tried their baked goods too and recommend their cannoli croissants!

I didn't expect to see bakers right there making delicious pastries in front of my very own peepers and the scent was intoxicating. Moxie surpassed my expectations!! I love the Cardamom Buns at La Cabra in NYC. I've got to say that Moxie was just as good if not better!! So good that I had to take 2 more to go!! The Matcha shot was to my liking with a strong unsweetened flavor. So good!! I enjoyed the window seating. When it's cooler out, it will also be nice to sit outside however there is plenty of room inside. PS-the bathrooms are spotless

This place is great!! There is free parking available…read moreinside the connecting garage, as well as an entrance into the shop from the garage. Very convenient! I came by around 730a on a weekday and it wasn't too busy yet. There is a lot of seating inside and lots of natural light. I ordered the Rafah specialty coffee drink and really enjoyed it. I also got a brown butter chocolate chip cookie which was incredible. I will definitely be back here!
